Thanks so much Lady Zhuge. Does Xiao Qiang pair with Chen Long in this serie? I think she is kinda old for him. I wish they have use someone younger.

how old is chen long anyway? he looks about late 20s-early 30s, while Xiao Qiang looks like she's in her mid-late 30s, alittle mismatched in terms of age difference. whats the premise of the story? i've never read the novel.

I haven't finished this series yet, but it seems like Xiao Qiang pairs up with Chen Long. She really looks OLD for him, especially when you compare her with He Mei Tian!!

It isn't bad actually. My only complaint is that there are tooooooooooooo many villians in this series. Thus, there're lots of dialogues between them which I think it's too much and sometimes unnecessary.

Thanks Lady Zhuge for the information about this series. When I saw it at the video outlet near my place, I decided to buy it.

Finished this series and I liked it . Found it quite addictive as the plot was interesting and I liked most of the main characters and also some of the supporting ones. What was important was that I was glad that it had a happy ending. The baddies got what they deserved and only a few of the good guys got killed. Chen Long’s character (the main hero) was happy go lucky and a bit cheeky while Xiao Shiang (the main heroine ) was plucky but a bit on the fragile side.
The other 2 lead characters, Mie Tian and Wallace Chung were my favourites. Mie Tian’s character was very cute and spontaneous and I enjoyed watching her relationship with her grandfather. Wallace’s role was quiet and reserved – a bit of the strong silent type. I liked how they slowly grew to love one another.
One of the supporting characters whom I liked was the young martial arts pupil who delivered the containers of wine to Cheng Long’s martial arts brother’s house. I found him rather gallant – rushing to save a damsel in distress and requesting that the second hero ( Wallace) to leave him when he was poisoned so that he could pursue one of the bad guys. I was keeping my fingers crossed that he would not be killed .
Warning : Spoiler – I was relieved that he was not and it was sweet that he ended up with the girl he saved.

I like this series. Pretty enjoyable and addictive. All the 4 main characters are likeable. So far, I like Jin Zhu Liu the most. I'm only up to episode 6. Not much appearance by Li Nan Xing yet.

Btw, the original novel was set in Qing dynasty. I'm glad the producer changed it to Ming Dynasty. Better costume.

The cast isn't that bad. Haven't seen He Mei Tian acting in a long time.
    Not really a "genius"
