Default I don't like all the current batch of TVB artist.. the ones i like are all gone

I dun particularly like any of the current batch of artists TVB is aggressively promoting... esp Ron Ng & Sammul Chan. They are like simply "eye candy" whose only appeal is to young female fans who like them for their looks & physical attribute...
I dislike Mose Chan too... Joe Ma is ok but no special liking

I seem stuck in a time wrap but i like the slightly older batch of TVB artist who are unfortunately no longer appearing in new serials... Gallen Lo, Sunny Chan, Louis Koo, Felix Wong, Flora Chan, Nadia Chan, Roger Kwok... wher are they now??

I think save for Roger, the rest is not in TVB anymore??... i'm not very updated with e latest info..

Yup, you are not the only one that feels this way. Roger and Flora, I think has a 1 episode per year contract with TVB. The others on your list have left to either mainland, ATV, or moved on with their life. TVB is seriously lacking talent.

I would not advise to use TVB as your only source of entertainment because it will not work :P. Give Korean dramas or ATV/China/Mainland/Taiwan production a shot and maybe you will enjoy it. Its new and refreshing when you can't find anything you want to watch from TVB.

Yes, I know what you mean (I love all the actors you named). I agree with what i_fotted said. I used to only watch tvb. Now with all the newcomers taking over, I'm starting to watch china production.

As far as I know. Gallen is with China filming a series with Wong Hei. Sunny is acting a tvb series with Mellisa Ng. Nhadia Chan I know is in one series with Kevin, not sure if she's in anymore. Louis is gone for good, he's only acting movies. Flora is not with tvb anymore.

i personally do not mind the current batch (except ron ng), because i like tvb story plots. i also enjoy listening to the cantonese dialogues, so i am still enjoying. i also like the older batch of actors, and my parents like the even older batch. all of us will grow old, so i try not to be too fussy wtih tvb, if not will end up no shows to watch! because i absolutely cannot bring myself to watch china or korean show.

give the new batch a chance, they will improve.

I miss the older generation too both actors and actress....
Gallen and Louis must come back to TVB... terrible loss that they left

Also even though Jessica is with TVB she has a one series per year contract....

I think the new batch shouldn't take lead roles before they are ready (ie Ron Ng in RDOV). There should be a mixture of old and new with the new batch gaining experience under the old. Even though he has improved, I think Ron is still really really substandard. Raymond is ok, but still overrated. The only actor I think is promising is Bosco.
    I felt before I thought.

I remember reading that Gordon lam critisized TVB's current policy, he thought that these youngsters are given leading roles way too early. In his opinion an actor needs 10 years of acting experience before he can be given a leading role. By the way TVB were not very happy with Gordon's remarks so i don't think we will be seeing Gordon back at TVB any time soon.

Finally a thread on this topic .. I'm glad others feel the same way

Yeah.. Bosco. He's one of the better ones, isn't he? ^

The "new" batch is a ticket to bordem, I agree, probably because tvb always pair them up in the series. It's always:
    Raymond x Tavia or
    Ron x Tavia or
    Sammul x Mandy or
    Kevin x Niki
    You get the idea..
    BORINGGGG

I suggest some of you to rent older series where they had all the "better" actors/actresses. (They were 7 to 10 years younger, but their performance were still better than the new ones today.)

Kwong Wa, Joey Meng, Christine Ng, Nadia Chan, and others were "rising stars" back then. The new batch are rising stars too, just not as good.

i dont like that tvd promoting Ron and Myolie Wu... I just cant stand her acting... I don like Leila Tong and tavia too she is not that pretty. Look like most of TVB artist now is not so likeable there only a few that I like such as Nikki ( she's not even TVB contract) Ella koon and the main girl from My family...

I'm glad that jessica and roger kwok still here.
Favorite Acctress: Allysa Chia, Jessica Hester Hsuan, Ma Su, Niki Chow.

Favorite Actors : Alec Su, Louis koo, leo Ku, Nicky Wu, Kevin Cheng.

Wow, I must give him credit for speaking so open and honestly!!! Ten years, is a little too much. But wow, I got a new respect for him now.

He is filming movies now. He signed under Andy Lau's company. since he is no longer under tvb, he doesn't need to worry about his comments on tvb.

    **salutes Gordon**
and, yeah.. I agree on Ron Ng.. I don't like TVB promoting him too much... they've been depending too much on looks lately.. and that, is gonna weaken or kill them off completely..

About Gordon.. Andy was once his manager

agree, a mixture will defintely be more ideal. i am targeting to watch RDOV, goodness, ron ng will be leading, i really dislike watching him.

I agree that the mixture of old and new actress in a show is better. But I also enjoyed the shows that stars only the younger actors. A lot of them isn't really that bad. Like those guys in 10 brothers. All 10 brothers plus Leila and Nancy, all can act.

I think why many of u guys miss the old actors is because those are the actors you grow up watching. So, there is a certain attachedment to it. Ask your parents and grandparents, and they will most probably list Adam Cheng and Siu Fong Fong as their favourite actors instead of actors like Jessica and Roger Kwok.

I agree that Bosco has the most potential amount the bunch of younger actors. His acting is not as good as Raymond and he is not as good looking as Sammul and Ron. But this guy got a certain charisma that grabs people's attention. It also seems that Bosco can do no wrong. I mean, his acting isn't exceptional. But no matter how his acting is, all he got are praises. When I watch 'Wong Fei Hung', I thought his acting was inconsistant, but everyone praised him, even the media. He also got a lot of praises for his performance in 'War of the In-laws'. I'm not dissing Bosco. I'm just amazed at this guy's power on the audience.

I agree with your statement. It is true that we will have a certain attachment to tthe "older" actors simply because we grew up watching them. Our perpectives were shaped up by these actors that we grew up watching. As for the newer and "younger" actors, we just need some getting used to. But I do also agree that TVB nowadays seems a little too reckless in promoting their newer batch of actors. They ought to be trained and more "seasoned" before they take on bigger roles, IMO.

agree agree, i rem gallen lo's acting was poor when he first acted (perhaps many of you haven't seen before), he was stone and really couldn't act, but now all of us love to watch him. is just a matter of "generation gap" sometimes

i think bosco has a kind of image that is easily liked by people, not too handsome and quite meek, but very pleasant. sometimes when you are too handsome and can't act, you can put people off easily.

    Unhappy

CheungKafai, rest assured u r not alone as i also tot like tat too. I usually dun watch serials wif these newbies unless there's some veterans in it. Other than Raymond and Tavia, the rest of them i dun really like. So i tend to choose my series in these recent few years...unlike me in the old days where i watch almost every tvb series without thinking! Sigh! Spoilers....

But i have to say i like Moses Chan acting very much! He's getting way better like War and Beauty, Riches and Stiches & Better Halves. His Lok San and Family Man is not bad either. He's great really!

I am beginning to watch many of those China/Singapore/Hongkong/Taiwan collaboration type of drama and liking it.

For TVB's drama, I will watch anything with Maggie Siu in it. Another one will have to be Myolie Wu. I like to see Myolie pair up with Bosco Wong.
