Post Return of the condor Heroes 98

HI guys,
I'm desperately looking for the return of the condor heroes from the TCS version that was made in 1998 but cannot find anywhere I can get either VHS or VCDS, is there anybody who owns this series or at least know where I can get them.
Please let me know,
THank you

Actually, I like this version better than the TVB version. Even though TVB's Carmen & Louis are better but this TCS version have a better supporting cast.

Cool

I'm watching it right now....and so far I don't like it....there just doesn't seem to be much connection/chemistry between the characters....I think the beginning of the series went by too fast and I couldn't see much chemistry between XLN and Yang Guo's characters yet. Also, not much between Yang Guo and Guo Jing either......

I do like some of the supporting casts though....but I'm pretty sure I'm still going to like ROCH84 a lot better.....or even ROCH95...

Just out of curiousity, which supporting casts do you like? I don't like this production but I agree that that a few of the supportings casts are not bad. I actually feel that Yvonne Lim has done a good job as Guo Xiang. Florence Tan is also pretty ok as the bratty and irritating Guo
Fu.

My fave version is still the 80s TVB one.

Hmmm....I'm rather eager to just skip the middle part of the series and watch the part with Yvonne Lim right now because she looks really cute as Guo Xiang.....

I don't really like the actress who's Guo Fu in this series....well, she's okay but I just thought that the actress in the 80's version was much better at portraying spoiledness and brattiness....Gigi Fu was okay too but not as outstanding as the older one......and is it just me or is the Guo Fu in the 98 version seem not very bratty? She's almost nice...it kinda just seemed like Yang Guo was making bad comments about her just because he was annoyed that she wasn't as pretty and graceful as XLN but the Wu brothers kept fonding over her......or maybe I didn't get too far into the series yet to see Guo Fu's character really start to show....

Also...I'm very annoyed with Fann Wong's hair....I think she looks like she has a cockroach or some sort of bug on her head...

Also, I watched a bit further and I actually don't really like the supporting cast (and their character/scripts too) compared to ROCH84....or maybe I'm just biased towards it because I've watched it first (and so many times...)

Among all the Guo Fus, the one whom left the deepest impression is the one in the 83 TVB version. Florence Tan (TCS version) is the prettiest though (in my view) but her acting is so-so. just ok..i think. As for Guo Xiang, I happen to like Yvonne Lim's portrayal the most. She has the looks and can act decently too. Are you at the beginning parts now?

Ahh..yes..Fann Wong's hairstyle is horrible. I disliked her Xiao Long Nu..I mean she is more like a walking corpse..always emotionless. I didn't really like Christopher Lee's Yang Guo too but the serial progresses, one would find that actually his performance is still passable (much better than Richen Ren, defintely).

I watched the 83 version first and it still remains the most memorable one in my heart (I bought the VCDs to rewatch but a lot of parts were cut. Grr.. ) As for the 95 one, hmm...I do not feel much for it. To me, its just average.

I'm around the part where they're picking out who to be the Wu Lin Min Zhu...errr where they fight with the Golden Wheel Monk and the Mongolian Prince and all that...yeah pretty much the beginning...

I felt that Fann's XLN had 'too' much expression....a bit weak somehow... and I think she's pretty but not the right type of 'pretty/ancient beauty' to portray XLN. I still think that Idy Chan was the best XLN, Carmen was good too but a bit 'too' cold. As for Christopher...I think he looks like he'd make a good older Yang Guo and his acting is okay but I don't think he really fits when portraying the younger and mischeivious Yang Guo....he looks awkward somehow....

Oh yeah and Guo Jing looks evil to me...I dunno why...heheh...he just doesn't look as brave and noble as Beardy Leung. As for Huang Rong, I think she's pretty...she even has more presense of a 'beauty' than Fann does to me but I think she might seem a bit young? ....and she does look smart...but more of an evil smart somehow...heheh...I think Au Yeung Poi San looked wittier and fit the role more...

Wink

Tell you the truth, I couldn't finish this series due to Fann Wong's dragging crying scene.. I felt like she was crying every second to me...
Anyway, but I did like Christopher as Yang Guo... enjoyable.

But tell you, this version is better than Richie Ren Version.

I thought the condor in 95 was alright but in the 98 version they made it into a cartoon. And for the supporting cast, I didn't think they did as well as the 95 versions cast. Overall this series was alright.

The guy who acts as Guo Jing is called Zhu Houren..a veteran local actor. He is good in other roles but he simply does not fit as Guo Jing. He does not look heroic or patriotic at all. A great miscast. In fact, if I had not remembered wrongly, he and Fann Wong were the most critizied when this serialwas shown on TV in 1998. Huang Rong is starred by He Yongfang. She has the title, "Suzhou's Beauty' because of her pretty looks and that her hometown is Suzhou (in China. Quite young for this role...I think...mid-late 20s?

Yep, I agree. I didn't like YG in the beginning but as the serial progresses (towards the end), I have to say that Christopher Lee's performance is quite decent. Well, as for Fann Wong, hmm..I couldn't stand watching her throughout the entire serial.

Haha, fun comments! anyway, I just remember watching some parts of this series (quite a few years back, so can't really say more than Fann looks sooooo ridiculous with a cobra like hairdo and her face....it's always sooooo sad or something. the same mopy gloomy look. needless to say, I'm not even going to bother.

currently i'm watching LOCH 82...so good!!

Xiao Long Nu's hairstyles in this adaptation are weird.

As for LOCH82 with Felix and Barbara Yung, I watched it long ago but I can't recall a lot of it except that it has left a positive impression on me and that I liked it at that time.

Wow, chungieboy...just watched LOCH82 now? It's great!! ^_^ It was probably the first series that I ever watched....and I'm seen it at least a gazillion times....

I love it so much! I think it's one of the greater adaptations....like the cast, supporting characters...everything fits so nicely...heheh

Anyway...for ROCH98...I'm on the last tape now! at least I think it is...Yvonne's really cute! and when Yang Guo found out that Huang Rong lied to him about XLN being rescued 16 years ago...Christopher's expressions were pretty good! very emotional...

Anyway, the condor really cracks me up for some reason....
