Yes, Bi Yao is the girl in green and I think YM would fit perfectly. When the news first came out about it I mentioned that I would've died if YM was Bi Yao, Hu Ge was the male lead, and Tang Yan was the other girl (Lu Xueqi, the girl in white). I still think that'd be a perfect cast. (But of course, don't think it'll happen...)

Now while I always thought YM and Shui Ling look similar...there's this really cool and fun thread on Tianya (I usually avoid that place since there seem to be a lot more "haters" there of various celebs than Baidu, but it has some pretty cool threads sometimes) where a very talented photoshopper has been "merging" photos of various female celebs. I adore this one of YM/TLY:

For the first time I think they are kinda similar! Not the overall feel, but just looking at the individual features, it's quite similar! Other neat ones include various combos of the "4 Dan 2 Bing" (I especially adore the one of FBB/LBB), a merge of LYF/LSS, LYF/Carmen Lee (i.e. the two "Xiao Long Nu"s) and many more! Of course most of the time the "merged celeb" looks prettier than the two separate ones (I think it's scientifically shown that taking the average of many faces results in a more symmetrical, even, and beautiful face--and when you start off with such gorgeous girls already, the result is bound to be great. )

Haha, I know...although, it is actually very easy to falsify comments like that. The post caused quite a stir a few days ago when it first came out but I think (or at least hope) most people realize it's fake now. For example, I think that screencap you posted is actually a joke post meant to show just how easy it is to create fake comments, since I notice that the person made it look like Shawn Yue and Edison Chen also replied to YM's insulting "comment"...LMAO. I really think Sina needs to fix this because it's caused problems several times already--I don't really follow that many people but from what I know it's already happened twice to FSF (fortunately both times were much more "benign") and now to Yang Mi.

However, it's quite easy to check if the comments are real--just go to "view comments" under a specific post, and there's an option to view comments by people you follow. So, for example, if you follow YM on weibo, only her comments would show up under that post--if they're real, of course. If nothing shows up, you know it's nonexistent.

BBLSMX appearance:

Yang Mi was the featured celeb on the latest episode of "宝贝赖上大明星" ("Bao Bei Lai Shang Ming Xing" roughly translates to "Little Kids and Celebrities"). It's a variety show where each episode features toddlers and a different celebrity; the little kids complete a task for the celebrity and the celeb donates an item to the show. (It sounds like the items will eventually be auctioned off to raise money for kids in povery who cannot afford schooling. YM donated a signed set of "Gong" DVDs for the cause.)

This ep took place during the day when YM did her photoshoot for "Fashion Weekly" (the one that just came out). She only has a few minutes of screentime--however, it's a very cute and hilarious watch if you love little kids! (Although, at some parts they kind of creep me out by how "grown-up"/"little adults" they seem... O_o) YM sent them off on a mission to find "a meal cooked by Daddy". Hilariously, she posted a pic of them together on weibo and asking her fans (i.e. "bees") to look out for them/help them out...then told the two kids to "go look for the bees"...leading them to actually go to a bee farm to collect real bees! (I almost keeled over at the part where they play dramatic music at the part where they walk up to get the bees...only to then run away screaming in terror! And the little girl keeps calling the little boy a "coward/such a girl" for not being brave enough to do it! *dies*)

Anyways, while I'm pretty sure the overall "plot" is scripted (but probably the actions/words of the little kids are spontaneous), it's still a really enjoyable watch!


Yang Mi to perform in CCTV's 2012 Chinese New Year festivities? Confirmed??


For those of you who read my latest FengMi blog update, I mentioned that it was rumoured awhile ago that FengMi were slated to perform together at the CCTV 2012 Chinese New Year Show. Well, I wasn't holding out hope for it and treated it as just another random rumour (especially after YM herself denied it at the Da Wudang press conference), but apparently it may be half-true--at least on YM's side! (Guess she is indeed a great liar in front of the media, or maybe this is a pretty recent development...)

Funnily enough, news was released that Nicky Wu was also invited--it was mentioned in the same article as YM so some people guessed that they would have YM + Nicky perform together, LOL. Imagine that, CCTV would be simultaneously offending Gong/FengMi fans and BBJX/LongShi fans, by making the wrong pair perform together, lmao...can you imagine the outrage from certain factions of fans?? (I kind of doubt they would actually pair up YM + Nicky though, that would be a bit weird...anyways it's still a big question mark whether FSF is attending--there hasn't really been any solid news like with YM/Nicky, but he did give rather ambiguous non-answers when asked about it recently so it is still a possibility! ^_^)


Several of YM's dramas to be aired soon...

Apparently HWDA has already been aired on some small local channels--still not available online. Hebei TV channel just stated on weibo that they will be airing it as their "kai nian da xi" (i.e. the major "opening-the-year" drama, like "Gong" was for Hunan TV last year). Funnily enough, about 5 of YM's series have been rumoured to be the "kai nian da xi" on various channels--including Ru Yi, Gong 2, Hu Fu Chuan Qi, I think Beijing Love Story, and now HWDA. (Neat that all of them take place in different time periods, from Warring States, to Ming dynasty, to Qing dynasty, to Min Guo i.e. 1930s-ish, to modern-day...) It remains to be seen whether any of these rumours turn out to be true--there's certainly been lots of hints that these will be aired soon (end of this year or beginning of 2012), but as her Chinese fans have pointed out, it would actually be a pretty bad thing for all of them to be broadcast at the same time since they wouldn't know which one to support! XD (Of course not a problem for me since I'd just watch online, but it'd definitely be better for YM in general if the release of her dramas were more "staggered" rather than all-at-once. Btw, I am still super disappointed that we're getting news of everything except for DQZD. ) Weird that she filmed these ones over such a long period of time (HWDA at the beginning of 2010, to Gong 2 towards the end of 2011)...yet the TV stations seem to all be deciding to release them near the same time. >_<

There are also two of her movies ("Eight Happiness" and "XTSYD") that are supposed to be released beginning of next year too. I really think her fans are going to have a hard time keeping up with her next year...

I also made a new post over on the FengMi blog for anyone who wants to read about FengMi tidbits from the BBLSMX variety show, the Cartier event, YM supporting FSF's new movie on her weibo, and lots more! I also do a lot of squeeing over the fact that tomorrow, it sounds like Yang Mi and Feng Shaofeng will finally be appearing together again after 2 long months--both are going to--*wait for it*--be promoting a new collection of engagement jewellery entitled "Champs Elysees Kiss" from the company "I Do", which features their newest engagement ring. (It's actually quite gorgeous and ingeniously designed--the diamond sits atop an Eiffel Tower design which wraps around the band, pic here.) Apparently the designer, Philippe Tournaire, is coming from France with a specially designed set of jewellery that he custom-made for Yang Mi. FSF actually did a promo event for this company back in August, but this time they got YM to join in as well...I'm actually quite surprised YM/FSF agreed to do this promo together since it seems like they've tried to avoid this type of thing--in the past they've only appeared together to promote their dramas/movies, or at awards shows etc; they've never endorsed anything commercially as a pair.

(In case you can't tell, I am pretty much in hysterics over this news (with my imagination running wild of what goodies we are going to get from this kind of promo event!) but I will refrain from doing too much squeeing over here since there is more than enough of that in my blog post. )

^ Oh, have you seen the full-length one where they photoshopped YM's dress to be white?? There are lots more photoshopped wedding pics but I think that one's my favourite since it looks the most natural...there was also one back in the summer where they photoshopped YM and FSF's heads onto Prince William/Kate's wedding pics, LOL.

Heh, well translating doesn't take that long, usually it's subbing videos that is a bit of a chore, since they have to be synced up...which is why it always take me forever to do them, lol. XD But, I did just finish FSF's "Up Close" interview (his is so much easier than YM's interviews since she's such an animated talker, haha) so I'll probably upload those later today.


Anyways, apparently after the "I Do" promo event YM is going to attend one of FSF's "White Vengeance" events to show her support...I heard rumours before that YM wanted to show up to one of his promo events before the movie was released, but was too busy filming and couldn't make it. I guess now, after they both attend the "I Do" event during the day, they are going together to the "White Vengeance" event in the evening (both take place in Beijing). So sweet of them to be so supportive of each other's movies!! (Recall FSF adorable surprise appearance at YM's "Mysterious Island" movie promo back in the summer... )

"White Vengeance" promo event:

Now we have verbal confirmation from Yang Mi that she previously wanted to attend his HMY event in Shanghai but couldn't make the time, so this time she had to come (flying all the way to Beijing from Shanghai!!!)

First FSF was onstage by himself, then they invite Yang Mi up...and the two of them just reach out their hands as if by instinct for FSF to help YM onstage! ^_^ (And then FSF keeps holding onto her hand for a bit longer before letting go... XD) He even jokes by calling her "lao fo ye"--i.e. a respectful term used to refer to the "Old Empress Dowager" back in the Qing dynasty (i.e. jokingly pretending he's the servant helping her up on stage)--then quickly changes to "xiao fo ye" (i.e. "little" Empress Dowager to avoid calling her "old", bwahaha...)

Here Yang Mi cuts the host off when he says she specially came to support FSF and launches into an explanation about how he previously went to support her movie too (i.e. trying to downplay the fact she came all the way from Shanghai to support him!)...then FSF cuts her off by putting his arm around her and saying "冤冤相报何时了啊"--loosely translates: "we keep returning the favour it's never going to end!" It's kind of a play on words because "returning the favour" sounds the same in Chinese as "hug" or "putting arms around each other"...he was so just looking for an excuse to do that. )

On the topic of PS'd photos, I actually PS'd a photo of YM a while back that I never posted:

First one is the original with very minimal make-up as you can see. Second one was altered with heavier make-up and a slimmed down face for a more mature, barbie-like appearance. Please note that I did not make these alterations because I felt there was anything wrong with the way she looked naturally (the original is quite gorgeous, I find!). I was simply very bored, and since the photo was so HQ, I couldn't resist playing around a little.
