Neither, she has the "damsel in distress" look. Her look is not strong and spunky enough to be ZM. Though, she has the innocent look to play ZZR in the beginning but I don't think she can do justice to ZZR once the character evolved.

Yang Mi has a very fragile beauty. I feel like you can be shattered just by a touch. Is it me or does she have crossed eyes? I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately, but I seeing too many actresses with crossed eyes, first, Ruby Lin and now Yang Mi.

I have to agree...I know a lot of people here really like Yang Mi, and I think she's beautiful...really reminds of the classy Audrey Hepburn. But Zhao Min is not only spunky - she's cunning, kind of ruthless, yet passionately in love with Zhang Wuji. I'm sorry but I can't picture her as Zhou Zhiruo...if it was between ZM and ZZR, she's obviously more suited for ZM.

I can imagine ZJZ's decision...Liu Yifei as Zhao Min...or even worse, Liu Yifei as Zhou Zhiruo. I think Ariel Lin wouldn't make a bad Zhu Er though.

with all this speculations - why does the next ZZR and ZM has to be some current, well known actors? when directors start casting popular actors to play certain characters from book (or other media) adaptations, it's the first step to a crappy production. the casting should be objective and the actors should fit the character profile.

Not really cross-eyed...just an awkward kind of position for their eyes. It's just this thing...when you look at people you can tell if they're near-sighted.

ZJZ has a rep for reusing actors. I think the 03 casting (except maybe Alec Su as both Zhang Cuishan and Zhang Wuji) was good.
