Jing Cheng Si Shao Trailer
Looks like Yang Mi has a very meaty role here, and it looks pretty mature. Her acting skills really seem to be growing by leaps and bounds.

Thanks for the clip snowyjasmine, YM's role does look interesting.
The story is about 4 brothers who are separated when young and are connected solely by their jade pendants given by their parents. The 4 brothers are sons of Qing official Tong Shan, whose family was under attack by bandits while travelling from Xinjiang back to Beijing 20 years ago. During the attack, Tong Shan loses 3 of his older sons and is left with only his youngest son, Tong Yu Guan (played by Yuan Wen Kang). His eldest son is renamed Gu Ren Jie (played by Zhou Jie) after being adopted by the head of the bandits, Gu Qing San. His third son is taken in by the owner of Bai Hua nightclub, 9th Aunt (played by Meng Guangmei) and is renamed Tie Dan (played by Fu Da Long), while his second son, renamed Du Li Han (played by Chi Shuai) is adopted by another one of the bandits Du Kui and grows up to become a passionate scholar.
Yang Mi's character, Xiao Chai (who goes under her stage name Bai Xue) is Bai Hua nightclub's top hostess and was also taken in by 9th Aunt when she was little. She is the daughter of General Huo Gang of the Hui tribe and is plotting revenge on Qing official, De Yang Zhong, who framed her father and murdered her entire family.
The original Taiwanese version of this story was filmed in the 1990s and starred Liu De Kai as Gu Ren Jie. China also did a remake of the story in 2004, starring Nie Yuan as Tie Dan: http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/showthre...-Liu-Xiao-Qing

Despite her many dazzling getups, I think the scenes where she looks prettiest is in a plain qipao with her hair let down at the back - very sweet and innocent-looking. If anyone's interested in knowing, I read thatclick to show spoilers

The new "Jing Cheng Si Shao" is scheduled to air on 26th March. On a side note, this will be her 5th or 6th drama released this year though she only makes a guest appearance in two ("Painted Skin" and "Hong Wu Da An").

YM's character Bai Xue grows up together with the 3rd brother (the leading character who's a clown of sorts) in the nightclub and eventhough he loves her a lot, she only sees him as a brother. If I'm not wrong, she initially falls for the 2nd brother (glasses scholar) but ultimately realises that the one she truely loves and cares for is 3rd brother.click to show spoilers

ONCE AGAIN, YM is going to partner FSF in her latest drama "Ming Yun Jiao Xiang Qu" (命运交响曲), a modern day romantic story. I really don't see what's the big whoo ha over the YM-FSF pairing as I find their chemistry so-so; they don't look bad together but definitely not as good as when YM is paired with other actors like Hu Ge. And I really want to see YM work with other actors apart from FSF because they've already worked together thrice! Apparently the producers for the drama only confirmed FSF as the lead actor recently after netizens and fans expressed desires to see YM work with him once again after the hype from "Gong" (YM on the other hand, already accepted this role last year before "Gong" was aired).
Filming for "Ming Yun Jiao Xiang Qu" will commence on the 25th of March and will take place in Shanghai, Hangzhou and Thailand.

Yuck, FSF again? Oh boy, I'm so tired of seeing his face. I thought he was cute in The Drive of Life in TVB a few years ago. Now he's everywhere, huh?
From the trailer, it showed that YM married the old man, I assumed the father of the 4 guys in the story?
There are many famous onscreen couples who have acted more than 3X as a couple, such as Damian Lau & Michelle Yim, Kevin Cheng & Niki Chow, Raymond Lam & Linda Chung. But for FSF & YM, acting as a couple in three consecutive series within one year is over-the-top. I wish they had spread it out over, say, 4-5 years. Then it won't feel so ad nauseum.
I'm neutral towards FSF as an actor and thought he has pretty boy features that would appeal to women, but looks to me many spcnet female members don't find him good-looking (what do I know since I'm a guy).
YM's looking incredible in both the HFCQ poster and press conference photos. I always thought she looked best with a fringe. See what a difference it made to her looks between A Chou and Xueyan in Schemes of a Beauty.
FSF & YM's offscreen close friendship is endearing (though I felt their V-Day couple photos were too overly posed, if you know what I mean), but I didn't think they had such great chemistry onscreen to justify the hype.

JCSS looks really good! I think it'll be my most anticipated series coming up. Tie Dan (3rd brother?) seems rather too wacky/comical though, especially since the series and all the other characters are so serious/dramatic. I agree, her "plain" qi pao look is so sweet and pretty. But I'm jealous of the rest of her wardrobe too...she must've had a blast dressing up in this role.
And YM definitely looks healthier lately!(I'm surprised because she's been working so hard and doesn't seem to get much sleep! I become a total wreck if I become sleep-deprived...)
...I need a facepalm smiley for this forum. Ugh, so her 3rd series in a row paired with FSF. The fact that the producers appeared to specifically choose him just because he acted opposite YM in Gong makes it doubly irking. Meanwhile I had to wait years for her to collaborate with HG a second time and that one (CP3) was a bit of a disappointment. Oh well, I'm not too interested in modern-day series so I will probably give this a pass. Maybe he will surprise me in HFCQ.
I like her with a side-swept fringe best (e.g. her press conference look). The straight-across bangs are so-so...but then again I'm generally not a big fan of straight-cut bangs (they remind me of little-kid childish bangs). I think she can look really gorgeous without bangs too (her WZJ look)--I wish the makeup people can duplicate that sort of styling in one of her future series.

Hehe, I remember watching that interview with YM where she revealed that Nicholas Tse was her "ideal guy" but she had never actually met him, though she really wanted to. Well, it looks like she got her chance, and even got an awkward hug as well! :P (I love her dress too!)

It's so cute how YM always gushes on about other actors even though she's an actress herself. (She was also saying how excited she was to work with Hu Ge again before filming CP3.) Not that I blame her though, Hu Ge and Nic Tse are two very fine men.![]()
