Ooh, a Min Guo series! Sounds promising (I don't think I've seen Hawick Lau in anything before though). Incidentally, funnily enough wasn't he the one who was supposed to play FSF's role in MRXJ but had to cancel due to filming conflicts?

Regarding Shang Shu Fang: I agree, He Miao and YH had a serious lack of chemistry. So much so that it got so boring I stopped watching after about 12/13 eps. It was too bad because I loved He Miao in a previous role and I was thrilled that 3 actors I liked were the leads in a series, but it just didn't work for me.

They definitely started filming already...In fact, I think they're supposed to wrap up filming soon...I know Yang Mi accidentally revealed to the press that Qin Lan is supposed to take the role of Empress Lu, and a fresh new face is cast for the role of Yu Ji. Somehow Yang Mi's character is like top secret in this movie...well...Lu Chuan is known as Lu Man Man...Super Slow Lu...so it's to be expected...LOL

Hmm, I guess the interview I read was an old one then. Did YM actually leak Qin Lan's role--I wasn't sure if it was a rumour or fact because that same interview I was reading, the reporter asked Lu Chuan about YM leaking it and Lu Chuan's reply was that he hadn't heard of the incident but even if it happened he wouldn't hold it against YM since they're friends and she's young.

Qin Lan is definitely gorgeous too, it's nice that YM and her are good friends.

I know this thread has been discussing about the rumors of YM doing plastic surgery on her face. Based on following her on and off since her role in Return of the Condor Heroes in 2006 and her childhood photos, I really don't think she did anything major besides extracting some teeth and realigning them.

I also saw this interesting video online where a psychologist/expert specializing in body language/speech analyzed YM's video interviews addressing the major gossips surrounding her. The first is the gossip with FSF and the second is the plastic surgery rumors.

To summarize this body language expert's conclusion:
1. YM is lying about her relationship with FSF.

Yea i think everyone knows just base on the fact that when they say that they're just friends everyone can tell that something is wrong because of their face expression. But why do they want to hide it?

I have to admit, after watching their interviews they do seem really adorable together and FSF seems really sweet in real life. And the more I watch the more I am convinced something is going on...I think I'm getting a toothache from all their cute! YM also seems like the type to want to switch up her costars and try new pairings (she even lamented in an interview that whenever she gets an offer these days for TV/films/ads usually they also ask if FSF can get involved, and that she's worried after awhile viewers won't accept them paired with anyone else). But 4 collaborations in less than a year...huh, they must really, really love working with each other.

Lots of reasons...most celebrities don't want their private life out in the open like that, especially since they are so high-profile right now. When actors first start dating they don't know how long it will last so makes sense to keep it out of the press until they know for sure it's steady. Also, whenever a popular film/TV couple starts going out there are tons of accusations that they are faking it for publicity and ratings (heck I came across those accusations for YM/FSF even though they repeatedly deny anything's going on). So it's just a lot of unnecessary grief and stress on the relationship. Though at this point they probably might as well just admit it if it's true because they're getting a lot of trouble for it either way.

Although if they are hiding it, I get the feeling it's mostly YM who wants to keep it on the down low...based on how careful she is all the times vs all those times FSF "slips up" (though in general she is just much better at handling the media when it comes to these things).

I don't really care whether she's together with FSF or not but it's nice to see her in seemingly good spirits recently (there was a period of time when she look mostly tired, down and haggard). Plus its really rare to see her laugh her heart out (like in that pic) because she usually appears more reserved and composed in public events.

i don't think they're dating...of course i have no evidence, and of course stars lie all the time when it comes to their dating status to maintain their popularity among their single fans. i do think (based on pix and interviews) that they have amazing chemistry in person, and it would be nice for these two to have a romantic relationship. but i think it would be too good to be true for them to be dating. i find fsf to be a really nice guy, and i personally like yang mi. but a lot of this speculation is due to the paparrazzi and the audience wishing for them to be an item. anyhow, can't wait to see what yang mi's role will be in painted skin 2. i'm assuming by being opposite of gong, that may mean that fsf and yang mi may be enemies instead of an item?

also, can't wait to see what her role will be in "king's banquet." i agree with sunnysnow that it's unfortunate her role is small. on the bright side, this will help build her acting skills and ultimately starring power. or maybe i'm just an optimistic and delusional fan. =P

would love for her to act with gyy or ady or tang yan again one day.

I thought it was pure speculation and made-up stuff by the media for a long time too (and hoped it was because I really didn't warm up to FSF until recently after finally getting around to watching their interviews), but I have to admit it seems suspect. Not just because they do have good chemistry, but FSF gets really nervous and always hesitates/answers evasively about that issue, and YM seems really "jumpy"/overly concerned about something leaking. If nothing was going on they should be able to have no problem refuting the rumours without being that nervous. I also don't recall YM being so obviously close or smiley with her other male costars...Of course I have no evidence either and it's clear they don't want the issue in the media so I won't say more on that! I'm just glad that she seems really happy and healthy right now, whatever the reason. I think I read somewhere before that at one point, she felt very stressed out/unhappy (probably when she looked really skinny and unhealthy) so I'm glad she's over that phase.

It's still a mystery, but from watching the press conference I got the impression they will still be paired up. I think by "opposite of Gong" YM meant that she will be the one "going after" FSF's character rather than vice versa, as she joked that this time around she will be the one "forcefully kissing" FSF (whereas in Gong didn't her character take a long time to warm up to him or something). I kind of hope she is playing a "yao" (spirit) type character since I loved her as the fox spirit in Liao Zhai, and they're always more interesting than human characters!

I'm ok with her starting with smaller roles in movies first and then building on that. "Hua Pi II" is almost guaranteed to be a success (since the main 3 are huge stars and the first one was so popular) so it should be good for her. Speaking of Ady though, it's weird that she and YM have never worked together (I don't think?) even though they have each acted in a lot of popular series and share a ton of costars/friends! They've even each worked in several TR/Yu Zheng productions but never the same one!

For awhile I wanted to write what I’ve learned about FengMi, but always got too lazy to do so. After quietly following a very long thread on the Baidu’s FengMi forum for a few months, I can’t seem to stop my curiosity about them and I just want to share the details that I found with others who are also interested. Sorry, this is going to be LONG....For non-FengMi fans, please just ignore my post.


Based on these details, you can judge for yourself if you think they’re just good friends or something is actually going on. I, myself, can’t give a conclusive answer about the true nature of their relationship since the subjects themselves consistently denied their dating rumors and insisted they are just good friends. At the same time, I really feel a lot of their actions/gestures already cross that thin line between good friends and lovers (at least in my definition of ‘good friends’). In summary, FengMi confuses the heck out of me!

I’ll just summarize a few things that I read/saw.

1. During FSF’s 1 month filming with YM in Hangzhou for their new modern drama “Ming Yun Jiao Xiang Qu” or Symphony of Fate, many random onlookers, film extras, and fans wrote on their weibo about their apparent closeness off-screen. The onlookers commented that YM mostly kept to herself during shooting, barely socialized with other cast/crew members, except for FSF. One person in particular, who was offended by YM’s cold attitude when she refused to take a picture with her, even admitted that YM pretty much ignored most people around her, but only groof off/openly laughed with FSF. Some wrote that FSF loves to fix/touch YM’s hair and playfully hold her hands in between shooting while YM seems naturally accepting of his gestures and shows no sign of awkwardness.

Note: This photo was taken by an onlooker in between shooting and NOT during shooting as YM still wore her down jacket and was playing with her iphone. Can anyone guess what FSF is doing? Fixing YM's makeup? Her lipstick got smeared?

2. In mid-April, YM’s parents traveled to Hangzhou to visit their daughter. FSF is seen chatting with her parents on the film set. Sometimes later, the Chinese paparazzi snapped photos of FSF back in Beijing Airport with YM’s parents while YM stayed in Hangzhou. Also, in two interviews (Li Xiang and Super Access), YM said that her mom loves the 8th Prince from Gong and would constantly ask her about FSF, and even surf the web to read his news. Let’s just say her mom’s actions sound a bit suspicious because YM’s mom has already met FSF before Gong even aired and seems to know him pretty well. Why does she need to surf the web to read his news? I remember in the Happy Camp episode, FSF said he once paid a visit to YM’s home when she was really sick and her mom sounded really excited to greet him at the door.

3. The May 7th Symphony of Fate Press Conference in Hangzhou was a particularly hot and humid day. All the actors/actresses were sweating like crazy onstage and Chi Shuai handed YM a clean tissue to wipe her face. After YM used the tissue to wipe her face, FSF secretively grabbed the used tissue paper from YM’s hands and held it in his own hand for a few minutes before subtly used it to wipe his neck. This was captured on a fan recorded video and I also noticed that Chi Shuai was sorta shocked when he saw FSF did.

4. FSF finished filming his part in Symphony of Fate on May 5 and immediately left Hangzhou to go to Hengdian to do some intensive shooting for his movie White Vengeance. But when his filming schedule on May 23 was canceled due to bad weather in Hengdian, FSF was spotted back in Hangzhou visiting YM while she was shooting at Jasonwood’s headquarter (a Chinese? clothing line and also big sponsor for her new drama). Jasonwood’s employees said on their weibo that FSF spent the whole afternoon with YM and saw them chatting happily.

5. May 20 in China is like Valentine’s Day, because “520” is homonymic to “I love you” in Mandarin. Ten days before this special day, YM expressed on her weibo that she was very excited about that day and was curious about who would confess to her at 13:14 (1:14 pm) hour. 13:14 sounds a lot like yi sheng yi shi (一生一世) meaning whole life in Chinese. So if you put it together, 5201314, it means “I love you, for life.” Coincidentally, FSF on May 20, exactly at 13:14 posted on his weibo “Stupid woman, 520. Blissful happiness, happy!” and posted the same kitty photo he copied from YM’s weibo. Note: 8th Prince in Gong loves to call YM’s QingChuan “stupid woman”, it’s like a term of endearment.

6. At the end of the Super Access interview when the host asked FSF to help put a necklace on YM, I found it rather odd that FSF didn’t try to put the necklace on YM from behind but instead tried to do in front. Only when he failed to do it in front then he tried it from behind. This particular clip was recorded by fans and was never aired in the original episode. Again, you'll see FSF fixing YM's hair here.


7. During a light hearted exchange on weibo with his big boss from White Vengeance, Wang Jie (Chairman of the Board for Xing Guang Entertainment Company/producer of White Vengeance), FSF did some *** kissing LOL and highly recommended YM to Wang Jie. He told Wang Jie that YM is a great actress and he hopes YM can someday have a chance to collaborate with Xing Guang too. Wang Jie then responded by saying there will be an upcoming film project that he hopes to cast both FSF and YM as the main leads. So there may be another FengMi movie together!

I must give these FengMi fans’ credit for their scouting ability to find the most updated info on both FSF and YM. The FengMi's forum compiled most of the details I presented above. With the widespread influence of weibo in China and power of camera phones, a lot of info they found are 10X quicker and more accurate than the news media.

it would be great if they were dating. fsf treats her quite well and seems quite bashful around her in front of the press. glad to know that both are helping each other's career. i'm with yang mi on this one. i am also beginning to worry that fsf may be her only on screen partner at this rate (despite my loving all the rumors revolving around them). i would love for yang mi to work with other actors too, but whatever helps her career, i'll be happy with. i just wish yang mi wasn't so cold around her fans...it might make her a bit more popular. thanks for the summary. it was definitely fun to read.
