Oh my god, that top pic...I am dying from all the cute! XD YM/FSF seem to have no qualms being affectionate in the Gong 2 filming since they are just role-playing their characters as QC/8th prince, right?? (*wink wink nudge nudge*)

Don't forget about their Hua Pi 2 collab also! (HFCQ and HP2 will probably both be released middle of next year sometime, so we might get a double shot of FengMi on the big and small screen! ^_^ Btw, recently there was news that Hua Pi 2 will be featured at next year's Cannes festival!!! O_o Not holding out hope that them two will be able to go though since Chen Kun, Zhou Xun, and Zhao Wei are the leads.) There's also their long-ago made-for-TV movie that has a 0.1% chance of getting released, LOL. So in total FengMi have collaborated in 6 projects so far, if you include their small cameo roles in Gong 2 (plus they both also appear in MRXJ and MRTX but I don't think they have any scenes together; and FSF made a cameo appearance in Beijing Love Story--probably because he kept visiting the set so often, lmao!). Yet, only ONE has aired so far (soon to be 2 though! ).

Anyways I probably adore both GeMi and FengMi equally onscreen (and am really hoping for a 3rd GeMi collaboration eventually) but offscreen it's definitely FengMi for me. XD And of course a bonus is that FengMi is definitely one of the sweetest "couple names" I've come across...

wow. It seems like Fengmi is Yangmi's most publicized couple then. Not only do you get to see them on tv, you get to see them on the movie screen too. The most collaborations together too.

Actually, Feng Shao Feng isn't in Mei Ren Tian Xa. There wasn't any pictures of him in the filming process. So, only wang li kun, luo jin, yang mi and mickey he are continued from the original.

Geez, are these two trying to kill me?!?!?! Alright, I take back all my misgivings about Gong 2, if it keeps bringing us all these goodies I am totally for it! XD

Really? Last I heard he had a really small bit part in MRTX (probably more like a cameo)? But I guess that didn't end up happening after all...

And yeah, FengMi do have WAY more collaborations than anyone else. But I think there's a reason for this...they are both so busy that they would barely see each other if they didn't have work-related projects together, so both are more than happy to continue being in the same movies/dramas. Actually YM is such a workaholic that she still has many projects with other male costars that don't involve FSF. Meanwhile, I kinda feel sorry for FSF-only fans who dislike YM because out of the 8 projects he's done in the past year, FIVE are with Yang Mi. They must be so sick of seeing her face, lol. (On the other hand, YM probably only has a few years of acting left since Chinese actresses generally quit the business once they get married--and YM herself has hinted at that--meanwhile Chinese actors keep going for decades. So in the long run FSF fans are probably luckier...lol.)

So it's pretty obvious that lots of dating rumours are the fantasies of fans. But I'd say FengMi interactions offscreen/on weibo are much more of a giveaway than what GeMi ever were. It's one thing to do a "publicity stunt", but fakeness is not something anyone can keep up for long and for this naturally.
Are you kidding?! MiShi was HUGE back in the CP3 days!!! XD But, sadly I think it really took a huge hit after the YM/TR fiasco, and went downhill from there after the continued Gong/BB comparisons.

But yeah, I mentioned it before but I always only got a "friends" vibe from GeMi (this is despite me being biased and hoping for them together back in the days) so I couldn't get on board that ship romantically (GeMi friendship, of course, is a different story! ). And I probably have the benefit of hindsight since I didn't start noticing them till May, but I don't think FengMi's interactions were ever a publicity stunt coming from the two of them (no doubt others like Yu Zheng, Hunan TV, the media etc. used them for publicity though). As you said, their cute moments are so natural and have been going on for over a year now--doesn't matter if they have stuff to promote together or not. And neither of them are the type of people to "chao zuo" either--I just can't see them putting on a show for the media to boost ratings when both of them clearly dislike all the made-up rumours so much.

Yeah, I know. I don't think their eyes met that much during the press events. YM's eyes were always looking for LSS Plus I've never seen GeMi hold hands. The vibe has always been friendship from the start.

But this doesn't stop me from being much bigger GeMi drama-shipper than her other pairings. I'm still hopeful...HG is getting more known in then movie world with 1911, and YM's movie career is taking off. Tangren & YZ may rule in the TV world, but it's movies where they aren't present. So still hoping GeMi can actually pair in the movie world one day.

We'll see. Feng Shao Feng is getting more popular in the movie industry with his most recent film with Liu Yei Fei aka White Vengence. Also, Fengmi's cameo appearance is already alot of publicity for them since it's a sequel of Painted Skin. Painted Skin is already a popular movie because of Chen Ken and Zhao Wei. haha. Yang Mi does remind me of Zhao Wei how both of their biggest roles are emotional characters like Qing Chuan and Xiao Yan Zi. ;p Shipping war. Gemi vs Fengmi. Who will win?

Lol! You'd be surprised at how nasty GeMi vs FengMi shippers can get with each other...

Actually FSF has participated in more big-budget movies than YM has--although this is mainly because until now, almost all of YM's projects were scheduled in before Gong aired so she had to honour those commitments first. Meanwhile FSF pretty much jumped right into movie filming.

It's funny that out of the 6 A-list Chinese actresses ("4 Dan 2 Bing"), Yang Mi has been compared to 3 of them. First, Director Li Shaohong and Zhang Jizhong (who both adored Zhou Xun) compared Yang Mi favourably to ZX, saying they had a similar "feel". Then, after Gong aired there were lots of comparisons to Vicki shooting to stardom from HZGG 10+ years back. And recently, with YM's appearance at Milan Fashion Week, she was compared to Fan Bingbing...

...I've already died about 10 times tonight but I am dying again. YM/FSF are back to "flirting" on their weibo! (Even splitting it between two different weibos--their Sina and TX ones--to prevent from swamping either one? LOL.) After months of subtle/indirect posts where they almost never named each other directly but kept us guessing who their weibo posts were about, we finally get this!! Just like when Gong was airing, YM/FSF are using their "characters" as an excuse to post all kinds of adorable things...

Even YM/FSF's agents are joining in on the love! (With FSF's agent reposting/commenting on YM's post, and YM's agent reposting/commenting on FSF's post, LMAO...)

Never fear--the third wheel has been swiftly dealt with:

(Note: in Chinese, a common expression is "da deng pao", i.e. "being a lightbulb"--basically means you don't matter, you're insignificant, etc. Often when there's 3 people, and 2 people are a couple, they'll call the 3rd person a "lightbulb" because the couple is so absorbed with each other and ignoring that person. "250" basically means "stupid" or an "idiot". So...you understand what they're getting at with "250W lightbulb" Yu Zheng. No idea which genius fan came up with this masterpiece...)

I'm not really surprised. Shipping wars always get nasty no matter the medium. I used to be into shipping when I was into Harry Potter.

Ah see. Never say Never. Fengmi will have plenty of time to film movies together. Soon they will conquer both the TV and Movie arena. Muhahahaha. You can run, but you can't hide from Fengmi.

Aw. That goes to show how versatile of an actress Yang Mi. Is there a type of role Yang Mi hasn't done yet that you would like her to act? I'm still new to her acting career so you would probably be more knowledgeable than I am.

Ok well, I have to admit Yu Zheng at least has a pretty good sense of humour. He posted on his weibo:

"I'm the biggest 'lightbulb' of all time, even risking being totally destroyed by all the fans I still couldn't help but run into the photo, ruining the picture; don't kill me!"

To which FSF replied: "How could that happen? Boss Yu, clearly it was you who did the "matchmaking", first you did it in "1", now you're doing it in "2" "

Heh, my first major 2 OTPs were all thanks to Harry Potter! Although, I never really participated in the "shipping" stuff (just stuck to reading fanfic of my favourite pairings) so I really only "heard" indirectly about the nastiness.

As for a role for YM...hmmm, I really don't know--in general I have sort of a "watch and see" attitude towards actors, I just get excited about their new projects without thinking too much about what I want them to do. But, of her upcoming projects I'm really excited to see YM as the cruel Mongolian princess in "Turandot", and see her do some fighting in "Da Wudang". When I first heard about "Windseeker" I was thinking how cool it would be for her to be a spy (well, she sort of was one in MRXJ but I'd love to see her as a spy in WWII period). Turns out she won't be playing a spy in there after all, so I guess that would be my main wish! Anyways I'm just excited to see her work with some A-list actors in actual good projects. Too many of her recent works haven't been the best quality-wise (though I don't think it's her fault since she didn't have much choice, and she's always made the best of what she got). While I think YM has great acting ability in her generation (probably second only to Shu Chang--but to be fair I haven't seen the acting of several other young actors that are also highly praised), she still has a ways to go to be up to par with the A-listers. Add a bit more depth and complexity to her acting...hopefully that should come with more experience in the big-budget movies though. Collaborating with Zhou Xun and Tony Leung soon in Windseeker should be a really great learning experience for her!

wow. I just realized she surpassed Zhao wei in terms of weibo followers. ;]

Yeah. I admire Yang Mi for her comedic skills. I admire actresses that have impeccable comedic timing. Sometimes, comedy is harder to act than tragedy.

Ah. moving on to actors we hope to see Yang Mi collaborate with. Let's see. I want Andy Lau and Chow Yun Fat. I like Zhou Xun and Zhao Wei also. From the older generation, I'd like to see her collaborate with Gong Li and Maggie Cheung. As you see from the actors I chose, I want to see her collaborate with critically acclaimed international actors. You like Shu Chang? Cool. Shu Chang is filming Gong 2. Wonder if Yang Mi and Shu Chang will have scenes together.

I'd be for any of those actors of course! But baby steps first! And same here, Zhou Xun + Vicki are definitely my two favourite out of the older generation "4 Dan". So cool that YM got to be in HP2 with them, though I don't know if she has many scenes with them...

And I am so ready for a pic of Shu Chang + Yang Mi together. (Seriously, my two favourite actresses of the young generation together = dream come true!) Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like SC is filming now or anywhere near YM. I was so looking forward to that too! Sadly, since SC seems to be stuck in TV series for now while YM is moving away from it, this could be one of the only chances I'll get to see a collaboration between them! (Yu Zheng how hard would it be to have just one scene with them together? >_<)

I love how Yang Mi, Zhou Xun and Vicki are unique beauties too. Take one look at Yang Mi and you'll recognize her. Too many actresses in China look alike so any way to stand out is good.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hope there will be pics of Shu Chang and Yang Mi together soon. Who knows? Maybe Gong 2 will be Shu Chang's big break to soaring popularity like it was for Feng Shao Feng. Like it or not, Yu Zheng has contributed to my favorite couple's(Feng Shao Feng&Yang Mi) popularity and helped open opportunities for them so I can't completely hate him.
