Wise Fool
...Well let's just say that I had sweet FengMi dreams last night and first thing I did when I woke up was leap in front of my computer to check out all the adorable-ness!I am still a bit overwhelmed right now...
There are too many great pics I don't even know where to begin. Ok first let me start by posting a few of Yang Mi by herself before swamping this thread with FengMi again (sorry non-fans, I am really trying to not fangirl too much--I'll do a squee-filled post on the blog after official videos are released tomorrow--as usual CCTV is getting in on the FengMi action as they've promised to broadcast a report on the event tomorrow evening! XD).
Yang Mi filming a commercial/ad for something:
The lovely "bride" by herself:
(Love this dress...good choice by the event organizers!Funnily enough during the interview the reporters asked FSF, "Do you think Yang Mi looks beautiful in a wedding dress?" then Yang Mi furrows her eyebrows going "wedding dress?!"--as if she's trying to play innocent that it's just a regular white dress...and meanwhile FSF answers "She always looks beautiful!"
)
YM arriving at HMY event:
(I can't believe how thin her legs look from this angle. O_o I remember a few years back there was a photoshoot where her legs/arms looked stick thin and I commented that it was probably just photoshopped that way...but I guess not. >_< There are also some kid pics of her where her arms/legs are twig-thin too though--well at least her arms seem a bit more fattened-up lately! ^_^)

Ok, these two are so meant to be. FSF just attended a show during which 2 lucky fans who commented on his weibo get to win a prize (autographed poster from "White Vengeance"). I think it was a "roulette" thing and FSF had to call "stop". Well...guess who one of the "fans" were?!! That's right, he called "stop" right on Yang Mi!! (Who also commented on his weibo in support of "White Vengeance".)Anyways then FSF says he always sees YM so they redo it to pick another fan.
Seriously, what are the chances...
You bet!!! Here are pics of YM showing off that gorgeous ring: (note that in China the tradition is to put the wedding bands on the middle finger, not the ring finger)
FSF also had his own "wedding band"...you can see it on his middle finger here:
Funnily enough, during the "I Do" event YM was all smiley and flirty while FSF was much "calmer" (but he seemed kinda nervous)...but then at the "HMY" event it was reversed--FSF was the one being all sweet (with the hand-holding, putting his arm around her, etc) while YM was the "calm" one (trying to refute the rumours).
During the "I Do" event FSF kept fidgeting with his own ring and the microphone, and seemed extra hasty/nervous when he put the ring on her finger! I bet he's thinking, "O_o...oh **** this thing is huge, is this what I'm going to have to beat for the real thing..."![]()

Seriously, check out the size of that diamond (also you can see the "Eiffel tower" design quite clearly in this pic): O_o (this one is not YM's hand though...)
I wonder if she got to keep the ring!

FengMi showing off their "wedding bands":
I have come to the conclusion that, since YM/FSF haven't been filming together lately and therefore can't meet up as often...they have decided to take advantage of doing endorsements together as an excuse to spend time with each other.First we had YM join in on the "I Do" thing (which was originally just FSF), now apparently the company "Bo Si Deng" have signed FSF to do endorsement for them as well--this is the same company who made YM the spokesperson of the "Bing Jie" down winter coats. I'm sure tons of companies have tried to get FengMi to pair up for endorsements in the past but were refused...so why have they only recently decided to take them on together??
Is it just a coincidence it's taking place during a dry spell of no FengMi onscreen collaboration? Hmm...

Oh my god you two admit it already...
(Annnddddd with that all our imaginations run wild with what FSF could possibly be whispering to YM to make her smile so sweetly like that...)
(Btw I love how the microphones they're holding have "I DO" plastered over them on big bold letters, as if that's what they're saying... ^_^)
Ok ok last FengMi post of the day I promise--I just can't help it, there are way too many cute pics out there!
So at the HMY promo, the event organizers gave out two random "awards" to FSF/YM (FSF got "role model youth" while YM got "kao pu" youth--loosely translates to "real/reliable??"). Then they gave each a "card" and asked them to pose together with it...the host then remarks, "Looks like marriage licenses!"
Well I didn't quite get the joke before but a fan just photoshopped the following pic: (the middle picture is what ACTUAL Chinese marriage licenses look like)
Big version of the photoshopped pics: (lol it looks so real)
Ok the hosts so did that "award card" on purpose!So did the organizers of both events set this up together because how perfect is that...at the "I Do" event we get the "wedding ceremony" complete with rings...then they go to the HMY promo event and it's like the post-wedding thing where they're showing off their brand-new marriage license!
(It was funny, at the start of the HMY event only FSF goes onstage first because he says Yang Mi has to change out of her outfit...i.e. her "wedding dress"...
)
Oh--forgot to mention--cancel that "Yang Mi confirmed for CCTV Chinese New Year Festivities" thing...she just flat-out denied it again at the "I Do" event!Weird because in the news report video I saw, they actually played a clip of an interview with YM's agent where she confirms they received the invite. So...either that phone call was totally false and made up (weird since the news video did seem reputable??) or Yang Mi is at it again with her "convincingly dodging the media questions" thing.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see on that one...
actually, ym has been dubbed as the next zhou xun. personally, i don't really care for vicky or ruby and much prefer zhou xun in terms of talent. so i'm glad that a famous director (the same one who did the door and dream of red mansion) dubbed her as the next zhou xun or the zhou xun of her generation.

Yang Mi has been compared to a lot of actresses. Yang Mi has been compared to Zhao Wei before because both of their most famous roles are bubbly, energetic characters like Xiao Yan Zi and Qing Chuan. I think it illustrates how versatile and unique Yang Mi is. You can't really pin point one actress she reminds you of.
i think that's why she has been dubbed as the next zhou xun...not so much because of personality or looks, but because of her versatility and talent as an actress. oh boy, i would love to see ym make it big like zhou xun and lead in all these great flicks.
anyhow,...i love you mango_cake!!! you give us all these wonderful updates. hmm, i have to say that even though ym looks beautiful, she also strikes me as being exhausted. her eyes are not as bright as they usually are. and i agree that the white dress is reminiscent of a wedding dress but i don't like it. it just looks like a prom dress to me. i prefer her dresses from other events as they give her a certain grace and maturity (not matronly maturation but an elegant maturity). anyhow, please keep those news coming...i'm so happy to finally read more about her. and can't wait to see some stills from vanishing bullet with ym in it.

Yes, she does look tired...well, after all she finished a day of filming in Shanghai, flew into Beijing at night, then apparently had to film two things during the day, before attending the two events with FSF in the evening, and then fly back to Shanghai in time to continue filming the day after.
Unfortunately I don't think we'll be getting much movie stuff released for awhile yet. Both HP2 and "Vanishing Bullet" are super secretive (I thought we were promised a HP2 conference and more posters in Nov?? I guess those were just rumours because it has been completely dead on that front). Oh well, at least these other things are keeping me occupied in the meantime! ^_^
Not only Li Shaohong--but I believe even Zhang Jizhong compared her to Zhou Xun while filming ROCH. He said that she was the type of actress where "you just put her there and you feel at ease [as a director]"--because her acting skills gave him confidence that she could portray the role great, and then added that her "gu ling jing guai" "air/aura" can compete with Zhou Xun's aura.
It's interesting that the directors are the ones comparing her to ZX because of her acting talent--while the media/general audience compares her to Vicki, FBB, etc. based on more superficial things like looks, popularity, media attention/rumours, etc. (Well, the other reason she was compared with FBB back in the day is because both are very hard-working and film a lot of projects...FBB used to be called "lao mo" i.e. workaholic, and YM is called the new "lao mo".)
Ok, before I call it quits for today I just really really can't help posting another pic: (I realize I've said that about 10 times today already...)
Maybe it was just that moment that the photo was taken but Yang Mi looks so adorable and happy here being pulled on stage by FSF! ^_^ A fan in the Baidu forums joked that they don't need to photoshop any FengMi pics anymore because FengMi keep surprising us with even better pics in reality!Anyways I just can't get over how they manage to get cuter and cuter everytime. In FSF's newest interview (from today) he keeps mentioning YM!
- I think he's asked something about when he's 40 and he replies...I'll be married by the time I'm 40, I hope! (Sound familiar??)
- He's also been continually asked about the FengMi situation recently and sometimes interviewers will even just ask if he can confirm they are just friends...and he keeps answering "That's not important anymore, what's important is our mutual understanding and friendship."Lol at his evasive, "avoiding-the-question" non-answer...
- The interviewer mentions how he's worked with YM 5 times already in the past year and some, is he sick of seeing her name on the cast list again? FSF replies that recently they haven't worked together in a very long time (uhh sure, if you think 2 months = "very long time"...). The interviewer goes, "...didn't you guys just appear together yesterday???" Bwahaha. FSF says, "I was talking about filming". Then he says everytime they get to collaborate again he thinks it's a kind of "yuan fen" (i.e. fate/destiny) because it is so difficult to find a project that's suitable for the two of them, that the production team wants to cast both of them, and that comes at the right time so both of them have space in their busy schedules.So...while most people are of the opinion that 5 times = way too much and it's super easy for them to collaborate together...in their opinion (well, at least FSF's) it's not enough and it's way too hard!
(Would he prefer to be filming with YM everyday then I guess?
)
(...oops. I meant to just pop in and post that one picture, I swear! Then my keyboard kinda got ahead of me there...)
@ Mango: "Vanishing Bullet" is what? . may be new movie of who? Feng MI or Mi? Can you reveal a little

^ Love that pic, can't wait till the whole ad is released, her ginormous dress floating in the wind looks very elegant. (Although it wasn't easy to film...there was a video of it awhile ago, apparently she spent hours being hung up by the wires with all that cold wind blowing up her skirt LOL. As always, she looked exhausted while doing the filming for it...)
Lots of videos released of the events from yesterday--I think CCTV actually ended up doing TWO reports on them in a row! (One for the "I Do" event and one for the "HMY" promo!) Hopefully tomorrow I'll have more time to put everything together and upload them to YT. Another adorable tidbit--just read an article saying the reporters asked YM's company if FengMi are a couple. As expected, they totally shot down the possibility...however, what was hilarious is then they say: "Because of this, we actually especially warned/ordered Yang Mi: make sure at all cost not to let FSF put a ring on your finger to avoid any misunderstanding [by the press]--but in the end, the young lady got a bit too dazed/giddy in that romantic atmosphere just now."No video of this to back up the article so dunno if it's true but I got a good laugh/squee out of it--at least, the rest of the article was quite truthful. The title of it was hilarious though--"Yang Mi disregards her company's strong/forceful disapproval/opposition, sweetly accepts the diamond ring Feng Shaofeng presents her."
(If it is true though I guess the unfortunate thing is her company doesn't sound that happy with her right now...I imagine they probably weren't too happy either that YM took time out to promote/support someone else's movie...)

This is such a random magazine cover: (to be released as December edition)
(I thought she was wearing two cactuses on her head...then I realized they're probably supposed to be...reindeer antlers???)
