oh, and the gif of ym and hawick in a few posts back...wow, they make a very good looking couple. ym looks genuinely happy around hawick in those bloopers.
Lol actually I might've read the YH stuff too quickly and he was just saying YM herself likes to play video games? (Too much stuff to read these days heheh, I end up skimming/half-reading most of them!) Anyways those two really do just seem like good friends, I can see why YM said there is no spark between them at all but they seem to have lots of fun together (both being a bit mischievous in nature).

She does look cute around Hawick in that vid! ...But then again, she always seems genuinely happy around a lot of her costars...LOL. That's probably why there are so many hardcore shippers, she can fool most of us so easily! I mean, I was totally fooled by FengMi, meanwhile seems like a lot of GeMi and MiShi were equally convinced that what she had with them was real too. Some GeMi (and non-GeMi for that matter) are so convinced that YM/HG used to date at one point, they even made me wonder, haha.

Yang Mi attended a Sohu event yesterday, walking the red carpet with Shawn Yue and the director of their movie "Love in the Buff". Seems like Miriam Yeung (lead actress) is pregnant so YM has been doing a lot of promo with Shawn Yue instead? (They're also doing a magazine photoshoot together, more pics of that later.)

YM also won another "popular actress" award (Nicky Wu won the "popular actor" award). However, the most exciting thing to come out of that event is the fact that Huang Xiaoming revealed he will be working with Yang Mi in an upcoming movie!!! I think they asked him about the best actress nominees--he said out of the list he was most familiar with Yang Mi since first she was his "little sister" (ROCH), then his "wife" (An Xiang), and soon she will be his "a yi"--i.e. "auntie". Haha, so unfortunately it sounds like they aren't playing a couple in the movie...no details on what this project is yet! (Although I guess YM would only be a supporting character in this project if she is his "auntie"??? Err no idea how that will work... )

Pics of YM doing a photoshoot with Shawn Yue for "Timeout" magazine--expected to be for the February edition. I'm hearing that "Love in the Buff" will be out in theatres in March? So they're amping up the promo for it.

For this new movie with HXM, I'm wondering whether it will be Vicki Zhao's directorial debut - an adaptation of Xin Yi Wu's novel "Youth". But HXM already said he will only guest star in it and Vicki won't be acting as she said her time will be totally taken up with directing. Vicki said the male and female leads will be rising young stars.

Yes, it's being rumoured right now that it is for "Youth". In fact some people are under the impression that YM passed up a role in Vicki's movie for the new Mulan movie (not sure where they got this idea though). At this point everything is just speculation...

New 20-min trailer for Gong 2--YM only has a cameo but I figured I'd post this anyways: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzQxOTc1Mzg0.html

The FengMi parts are in the first few minutes, but nothing really new that we haven't seen already...I am still surprised how at many famous faces Yu Zheng managed to get to participate in Gong 2. So many people I like in here! >_< But the storyline isn't appealing at all and seems pretty unoriginal/cheesy. I will probably end up just watching the FengMi parts even though I also adore Shu Chang, plus Chen Xiao/Zhao Liying are super cute (both separately and together). Btw this one actress (named Li Man?) looks so similar to Rebecca Wang, I thought it was her at first when I saw her in the trailer and was all O_o.

she looks gorgeous in the orange dress at the sohu awards. i love that dress....it makes her look so tall and majestic (well, minus her bad posture). and she looks absolutely fantastic for that "timeout" photoshoot. even though a few of her outfits are variation of the same thing in different colors, that style is flattering on her slender figure.

and she's going to do a movie with hxm where he calls her auntie? lol...well, looking forward to learning more about her movie projects this year. i wish she could star in xajh as ryy instead of han xue (nothing against her...she looks pretty in some clips and average in other clips although it seems as though she sings very well) in the upcoming remake. but whatever, seems as though ym movies are getting a bit more high profile. i still miss seeing her in series where as an audience, i can see more of her and her costars.

mango, i've been following the fengmishipping blog and it's fun to see that many of the commenters are still heavily interested in reading your updates on fengmi despite the fact that they are merely best friends. you and jolecole have quite a following there.

i can't decide what to make of that photoshoot above this post. ym with orange hair and super light (almost nonexistent) eyebrows? who is the dude?

I'm not really looking forward to another Mulan movie as not just one, but THREE Mulan TV series will be hitting the market this year - the one with Elanne Kwong, Chen Sicheng and Yuan Hong, then another one with Dylan Kuo and Hou Mengyao, and now Yao Chen just announced she's going to take on the Mulan title role in a new TV adaptation of Vicki's Mulan movie (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMI7u...02AUAAAAAAAFAA)

Plus Vicki's Mulan movie was only aired 3 years ago (in 2009)! And Vicki's Mulan was a Cannes Film Festival opener, so it's going to be hard to beat that level of hype/publicity without drawing needless comparisons. These production companies should really coordinate and avoid doing the same story at the same time!

I remember news back soon after Vicki's Mulan movie that Zhang Ziyi was to star in a Disney-sponsored Hollywood adaptation of Mulan directed by the director of Speed, but looks like that was put on hold as it was too soon after the success of Vicki's Mulan.

^ Wow, didn't realize about the THREE Mulan-based TV series! O_o Yeesh these asian companies really do make similar-themed projects in waves. T_T I still reserve my opinion on this one till we hear about the rest of the cast...well I think I heard something about a XingGuang higher-up posting on weibo how he liked Hu Ge, would it be too much to hope for them to cast him in this?? (Probably is...oh well, it's still nice to dream about! )

True, but at least she still has tons of TV dramas that haven't been aired yet (or that I haven't seen yet), so I don't think we'll run out of YM series for awhile! E.g. BJAQGS, Ru Yi, HFCQ, DQZD (well if CCTV ever gets around to broadcasting that one! >_<), all of which I am very much anticipating this year! And I still need to go back to finish WZJ, SSF, plus catch her minor roles in Hua Pi (TV series) and HWDA...

mango, i've been following the fengmishipping blog and it's fun to see that many of the commenters are still heavily interested in reading your updates on fengmi despite the fact that they are merely best friends. you and jolecole have quite a following there.
Yes well, while I definitely would've been ecstatic if YM and FSF actually were a couple, I still think they are one of the sweetest onscreen couples and cutest real-life celebrity best friends. I guess thinking about things more objectively, these actors probably think it's normal to act sweet towards each other compared to normal people... I mean, if you think about it they hug/kiss/have romances with various strangers on a daily basis as part of their jobs so I guess it probably isn't a big deal for them to be super sweet towards their friends (making it easy for us to misunderstand!). Anyways, as people in the Baidu forums pointed out, friendship is more likely to be forever whereas a relationship could break up...although personally I think with this recent news chances are we won't see too much of FengMi in the future, but oh well, at least we still have a whole year's worth of material in 2011 to look back on!

i can't decide what to make of that photoshoot above this post. ym with orange hair and super light (almost nonexistent) eyebrows? who is the dude?
Yeah, that is probably one of her weirdest photoshoots yet... Well, you definitely can't say this girl doesn't experiment, even if some results are more wacky than I like...

Anyways, Yang Mi has completed filming of "Vanishing Bullet"! This comes as a surprise to even most of her fans who have been following her since we barely heard news of her filming for it. So either the production is just super skilled at keeping things under wraps (although it definitely helps that most of the filming took place at night), or YM really has minimal screen-time in this movie...hmm maybe a combo of both...

I don't know if she still has filming for "Pao Chu Yi Pian Tian". Either way sounds like she can get a bit of a break at least for Chinese New Year's! Looking forward to her new project announcements after the break. ^_^

New (cute cute!) stills of Yang Mi/Vic Zhou:

(Too bad they aren't the main couple and won't be together for 90% of this movie...)

Yang Mi at a "Love in the Buff" press conference:

(Her hair looks so luxurious in this pic, I need to know how her stylist creates such gorgeous-looking curls!!!)

More from Sohu awards: (I love this dress too, I don't think YM has worn orange dresses very often in the past but the colour suits her quite well! ^_^)

Well, now that I can no longer avidly watch the "real-life drama" of FengMi unfold, I am going back to watching actual dramas again... Unfortunately, all the ones on my list sound pretty depressing! >_< (Even if good.) Seriously, tragedies seem to be a trend in Asian series right now. I think that's why I like wuxia so much--plenty of action and romance! Not super cheesy like idol dramas, but not depressing like serious dramas (they pretty much have good endings at least!). XD Speaking of which, anyone know what ZJZ has been up to lately...after his string of wuxia dramas and the recent JTTW, seems like he's retired or something!

Well, according to Baidu, he's producing two upcoming series - 空姐的日記 and 炎黃大帝.

Yang Goes Far with Close to Me

ress Yang Mi recently released her debut album, Close to Me, in Beijing. Yang became one of the most popular actresses with a rise to instant fame in 2011. The 25-year-old signed a record deal with singer Jane Zhang's record company last September in Hong Kong.

Yang finished the album in four months with the help of musicians from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the mainland. It has topped four charts across China. The Beijing native began acting at 4 years old and rose to fame for her roles in TV series, including Palace in 2011.

The small budget horror film Mysterious Island, in which Yang plays a leading role, won an unexpected 90 million yuan ($14 million) at the box office. Her debut album continues her girl-next-door screen image.

Yang says it's her childhood dream to become a singer. She plans to do dancing and songwriting for her next album.

    ----------------------------------
i hope she focuses on acting instead of distracting herself with a field that she really isn't suited for. i guess popularity is all that matters since her album topped a few charts despite her weak voice. btw, what kind of charts are these. are they even legitimate or considered credible in the entertainment industry?

really am looking forward to her company announcing her future movie projects and her co-stars.
