YM's put on a bit of weight and seems like she changed the shape of her brows? But she looks fantastic! She actually looks pretty well rested to my eyes as well (in the event pics) despite the bad hairstyle. She also has a bit of that impish pixiness in for the Eminu set pictures as well, since it's supposed to be "flirty" ?

j/k, I think it's a still from "Love in the Buff" since she's playing a stewardess in that movie, and the outfit matches the shot of her from the back that Shawn Yue posted on weibo during filming.

Seems like Yang Mi just finished dubbing her part for Painted Skin 2! Here's a pic posted on weibo by the director: (Is it just me or does YM kinda resemble Zhou Xun in this pic?? First time I thought they were similar appearance-wise...)

He mentioned how Yang Mi is playing a "non-human" character, and also how this is FengMi's first "different species" (human/yao i.e. "demon/spirit") pairing. Yang Mi replied saying the awkward positioning of her hand was to hide a pimple on her nose, lol (not sure if joking).

Promotion for this movie should start soon (various reports say end of Feb or early March), I cannot wait!!!

Edit: Apparently we are getting character posters on March 04. Eeeeeee!!! XD Definitely my most anticipated movie, I think I might go rewatch Painted Skin 1 sometime soon.

Kinda unrelated but I would love for movies to be made of the other Liao Zhai stories as well. Xiao Qian seems to be the most popular, and now Painted Skin has been done too. But I think the others would be great movie material too, since each story is a standalone, separate short story.

anyhow, now that ym's schedule is open and yu zheng's sod ryy's contract is open still...can i dare hope that ym will take that role? i know...very wishful thinking on my part.

To be honest I haven't found any of her movies released that interesting so I didn't bother watching them yet. (Well, "Door" and "Mysterious Island" are horror movies so definitely not watching those! Although I've actually considered giving "Door" a try, since Yang Mi is paired with Chen Kun (who I also love) and that one sounds more like a psychological thriller than a horror movie...we'll see if I ever get brave enough to watch it! )

"Eight Happiness" sounds like a typical HK comedy so again, not that interested in it but I might watch it someday if I'm bored. "East Meets West" looks like an even worse HK comedy and YM has about 2 seconds of screentime (Tang Yan too) so forget it.

"Perfect Two" is the only one I actually do kinda want to watch...but it's not at the top of my list. I'll probably get around to it someday.

I am most excited about her upcoming movies "Painted Skin II" and "Vanishing Bullet", but unfortunately we have to wait till the summer for that. These two are also the ones that seem the most high-quality/high-budget (Painted Skin II in particular). I wouldn't call the rest of the movies "C" grade (except for Mysterious Island), but more middle-of-the-road type.

In fact there have been rumours that YM may participate in a Hollywood movie end of this year or next year but I honestly have no idea where these rumours are coming from so I'm treating them as false for now. I would personally prefer if she stayed in Chinese TV series/movies but I bet she would love to get a chance in Hollywood. I mean, considering Hollywood is viewed as a "big deal" in China, I'm sure all Chinese actors would love to take on a Hollywood role if offered (well, I guess exception being Liu Yifei...who apparently said she got several Hollywood offers after "Forbidden Kingdom" but she turned them down because they were "too similar" to her Golden Swallow role or something, and also supposedly turned down the Ada Wong role so LBB got it...).

The director posted that FSF is playing a "totally different" character than his previous roles and will bring us lots of pleasant surprises! He also said Vicki's character is extremely complex, with two extremes in personality, and her previous roles were all too "simple" in comparison. Vicki herself posted that while watching the movie (when doing her dubbing) she was very caught up in it and watched with mouth agape, lol! I guess Zhou Xun and Chen Kun have yet to do their dubbing?

I hope HP2 lives up to my expectations--it's rare enough that all 5 of the main actors in a movie are 5 of my favourite actors ever (including my favourite actor/actress ship ever!), plus the fact that I loved the first movie, and this is such a big-budget movie...well let's just say I don't think I've been this hyped up for a movie ever.

Oh my god, wait a minute, I just realized famous singer Fei Xiang also has a supporting role in HP2!!! I was so focused on the main 5 I forgot about him. Is this for real??? (Not that I've seen him act, but he is such a good singer and so handsome! XD) So not just the main 5, but make it 6 out of 7 actors I totally adore (I don't really know about the other actress who completes the 7).

(I only just realized this when I saw a poll for who you want to sing the main theme for HP2, and one choice was Chen Kun + FSF + Fei Xiang (i.e. the 3 males in HP2), and the "comment" after it was "watch the Chinese New Year gala"--and indeed, funny enough all 3 of them DID perform at the CCTV Chinese New Year gala this year! Separately, of course.)

Anyways, the HP2 weibo is SUCH a tease! >_< A few days ago they posted this pic of the production team getting to see the character posters for the first time...and said something along the lines of: "We finally got to see the posters, they are amazing. But, too bad, can't show you guys yet. Be patient and wait a few more days!" So mean of them!

Would I ever love to know!!! Strangely we pretty much have gotten NO news at all on her upcoming projects. I don't know if this is a good sign or not...? Takes a bit of getting used to though, after a crazy 2011 where her fans got updates almost everyday! Good thing she has a lot of dramas and movies coming out to keep everyone preoccupied.
