Two more YM HP2 pics, pretty similar to some of the ones we've seen already though...I really want a pic of her white costume to surface!
Yang Mi attended a L'Officiel event yesterday wearing a peacock-themed gown (funny how she keeps being associated with birds lately, apparently her character in "Vanishing Bullet" is called "Yun Que", kinda similar to her HP2 "Que'er" character...).
Coincidentally, FSF was also invited...and we even got photos of them together onstage--which I didn't expect! Nothing cute of course but they always look good next to each other. ^_^ Funny that they have zero interaction for 2 months and now they attend 2 events together in a row! )
More stills of YM and Shawn in "Love in the Buff" (in theatres Mar. 23).
Random new pic of YM?
Not sure which photoshoot this is from:
Apparently the L'Officiel event was streamed live, some screencaps that people took:
(YM and FSF gave out awards together. Alright, I am only friendship-shipping FengMi now but I still can't helping finding these cute... )
Apparently during the event, they said they had just been discussing scripts with each other?? I wonder if they meant, they are discussing another collaboration, or just chatting about their separate scripts...I wouldn't mind either way, I'd be up for another FengMi project but I also do want to see YM with other actors.
Oh my god, I think download links for DQZD have just come out!!!! (Took them long enough, lol...j/k, I do feel kinda bad that the whole thing is available to watch online before it ever got aired on TV, but then again it's CCTV's own fault that they held onto it for so long without broadcasting it! )
Unfortunately, quality is not HQ (but definitely still passable). I am currently debating whether or not to just watch it at this ok quality, or finish a few other series and maybe wait to see if a high quality version comes out later... *so conflicted*
Mango_Cake, I read on Cfensi that YM has set up her own company (with investors and etc) and is going to film the chinese version of GG?!?
here's the link to a news article i found:
on the one hand, it states that yang mi is the star of the series, but later on in the passage, it only states that she has a recurring role. so i'm not sure if she will be lead. but hollywood is involved in adapting the chinese version of gossip girl.
i wish she did wuxia series instead, but i guess this is the series that she's been so secretive about. it's slated to shoot this november.
there was one article i found which i couldn't understand very well (go figure with online translation tools) which stated that yangmi will be producing this series? and warner brothers is involved? well, that's big!
So, this is the TV series she referred to, when she mentioned she will go back to TV series later this year!
OK, no Yu Mama's Yun Zhong Ge/Song In Cloud for her (though I dread the thought of YSS casting as Yun Zhong)

You guys are fast with the news! I came here to post about it but you guys beat me to it! Thanks patricia for the translated article--I read about Gossip Girl people being involved in this "Chinese GG", but I totally missed the Warner Bros thing! (I kept reading what I assume is the translated Chinese name but I did not make the connection to Warner Bros... ) I was just going to say how it was so funny that we were discussing YM as a Blair Waldorf character awhile back, and now it turns out she is actually producing the Chinese version of Gossip Girl!
Anyways, yep it's true, this is YM's first foray into being a producer. However, she is NOT going to have a lead role in the series--she will be doing more behind-the-scenes. For the leads, they will supposedly do an extensive search to find some hot young actors/actresses (to fit the "young hip idol drama" feel). When asked if she would have a role, Yang Mi replied that she will leave that issue as a question mark for now. (Perhaps it is so early in the process they haven't even decided yet since casting is just starting...I think it'd make sense for her to have a small role though, or even a cameo.)
Personally I'm not that interested in this series, but I guess good for YM that she's experimenting with new things! Also I think it'd be neat to see YM do a guest role as a snobby b**chy socialite character, LOL.
YM also said, perhaps some people will think she is too young to be a producer but she's been acting for 10 years and she wants to expand her horizons; in her opinion when you are young it is the best time to try your hand at new things. (I wonder if eventually she will try her hand at directing too--I once read an interview where she said she previously had no interest in directing and preferred acting, however after taking a few directing classes in university she found it very interesting.)
I'll post pics from the news conference shortly! ^_^
(As an aside, I find it a crazy coincidence that at about the exact same time, it was announced FSF is also producing a TV series...and he will be leading in his. Actually tbh I am more interested in his series--an ancient series set in the rather chaotic Southern and Northern Dynasties period--than Yang Mi's...but oh well. Do FSF/YM actually discuss this with each other, because the coincidences between them are kind of freakish if just based on chance... )
Pics from the conference: (YM said she is a big Gossip Girl fan and has watched since the first season. I have mixed feelings about this since I myself loved the first season, and the first half of the second, but after that the series derailed into a bizarre trainwreck so I hope the Chinese version goes better... Well, it's only 30 episodes and Chinese series are planned out in advance, unlike American shows which get worse as time drags on...so that's somewhat promising at least.)
Also good for her for managing to keep this project secret, I had literally no idea she was going to be producing a series so it was quite a shock. Is this what she's been working on lately during her break from acting?
(I like her "producer boss-lady" look... We don't see her in pants much lately, it's always either dresses or leggings!)
Anyone know who these people are??
In other news, there have been several trailers released for "Love in the Buff". I actually think this movie looks quite good--a bit in the style of "Perfect Two" but focusing on a romantic relationship rather than parent-child relationship.
Here's the latest trailer: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzYxMjEyNzA4.html
The big surprise here, is that Huang Xiaoming makes a cameo at the end!! I remember hearing that he might have a small role in LitB way back, but then we heard nothing else about it so I thought it was just a rumour. Guess it turned out to be true! Although, since neither YM or HXM are leads, we might not get scenes between them. Unless, this was the movie that HXM mentioned where YM plays his "auntie"? (Though somehow I get the impression that is a different, upcoming movie...)
I also love the theme song they used for LitB, it's quite beautiful and poignant, fits well with the atmosphere of the movie (YT link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZPjyWPYP7s)
I think this is a fanmade poster, but it's pretty cool nonetheless! Cannot wait for the trailer for this movie to come out!
More HQ pics from the L'Officiel event: (it is almost impossible to keep up with this girl, there are still pics from an event a few days ago I haven't gotten around to posting yet... )
Apparently she will be on an upcoming cover for L'Officiel as well. I actually really liked the L'Officiel photoshoot for Gong 2 (back in March last year), it had very cool clothes (ancient and modern) as well as a nice "feel" about them. I also loved LYF's edition, I think she had this gorgeous pink dress in her photoshoot! So I'm quite looking forward to this. ^_^
hahahahaha apparently we're not the only one who was shock to discover this. Her fans in China yesterday was shock at the news that she is attending a conference for "Chinese GG". Although I must say, I'm kind of looking forward to see how this production will turn out. This could be Yang Mi's opportunity to make it into Hollywood and gain status outside China like Fang Bing Bing.
Other note, I love her style at the conference. Totally matched with the theme of the upcoming drama and definitely have the "boss" feeling.
the dress that she wore to L'Officiel dinner event does make her look like a bird no wonder fans have been associating her with birds
I hope we get more scene of YM in LITB... even if "Perfect Two" and "All's Well, Ends Well" combine, we can only see her on screne for probably less than an hour
