I think it's also because the Chinese are naturally a little thinner than Western women, and since actresses are supposed to have perfect figures, then they feel more pressure to be skinny. I guess you have to understand the circumstances they go through.

Yang Mi isn't THAT bad yet...not quite at the Nicole Richie stage, but I think a healthy body looks better than a bony one. Still, she's already slim, so I hope she just goes out and eats what she wants!

Yeah, we got that argument before.. but it seems that the asian women ( mostly in Hk anda Taiwan) people want to look anerexic. In fact, all the magazines are flooded with slimming products.

Most asian actresses are so skinny now that they look really anerexic and unhealthy. I think you're right, in china especially, the actresses are losing a lot of weight. I prefer healthy looking ones, but right now, almost all the chinese actresses are falling towards the anerexic looking side...

All actresses follow specific guidelines or trends set out for them or something IMHO... like be told to be successful, should be at least xx height and whats the max mass they are allowed, so they get all paranoid.

the last few batches are less spectacular than usual but she's still quite a catch...and can't deny that she has a better sense of fashion than other artists her age.

again, if she had more weight on her then just imagine how much better she'll look.

Yea, ok. Just targetting young adults+, almost all of Asia are
underweight/anorexic/scrawny-looking because 1)they're poor, so they're never fed well, 2)they're a celebrity, it's a killer having to compare our (in general) bodies to their's, or 3) like many "Americans" over here, they've got psychological disorders like anorexia or bulimia, so they're always conscious about their body weight.

but for the celebrities, really pisses me off at the messages some stars are giving to the people. One day.. i hope one of the stars get health problems and show the world that it is ok to weigh over 100 pounds. ( i am not being sadistics here btw)

Eh...not all celebrities. I was kinda generalizing anyway. Some aren't so anorexic-looking. Yang Mi's cute, but her figure is pretty typical.
