I love this drama too... Like xiang qin and zhishu. Can't wait for the second part to start. they are going to film it in feb 2007.

haha..... if they follow the manga... xiangqin will become a nurse to help zhishu..
zhishu still very cold but he loves xiangqin very much..
And there will be a guy falling fo xiangqin making the two of them arguing ...
a jin ( the guy who likes xq in the first part ) will find another girl.

so excited..........

I love this drama.... I just finish the show last week... Am now going to watch for the second time.... Ariel Lin and Joe Zheng really makes a perfect couple... Very good chemistry... Can't wait for ISWAK 2.... Hope it will be as good as the first...

I have watched this drama several times and its still very interesting...liked the actor/actress as they are act very naturally..especially the conversations.

Thumbs up to the Director of the movie as he really put in lots of effort and also the actor/actresses in the movie.

Waiting for the Part 2 of the drama..

This serial was soooooo highly reccomended by many friends so i can't help it but watch.

Not disappointing at all. LYC brings out the role well so is ZYC.

The theme song was GREAT! Have u guys seen the mv? The ending was soooooo SWEET!

okay, i thought this drama was gonna be promising with zheng yuan chang and ariel lin. it started out okay. cute and everything. although i can't stand manga girls xiang qing was bearable. i was watching it, neutral about it, getting blander and blander until i suddenly realized that i was on episode 30 and NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET!!!! what else is happening but xiang qing being like "i really really like zhi shu, but he doesn't like me" or "arg. zi yu is taking him away" i really dont' know how else to describe this drama. the sudden burst of emotion zhi shu had in the end with xiang qing wasn't satisfying or believeable also. the only part of the drama that i enjoyed was the beginning, and the ridiculous adaptations of "leaf" and "the rose" in the end.

I just finish watching Tokyo Juliet which was good too but her character in there are stubborn more Yi Ping and Shu Huan in romance in the rain...hehehe well they were alway dumping each other and comming back to each other. Well can't wait for ISWAK 2 of their marriage life. Wonder if they will share same room under the same house. Hopefully that girl fo Ah Jin will be someone Xiang Qing introduce him too, heheh. Can't believe they making another Conder Hero when a new one just came out.

some of the dubber people are just really bad at what they do
I prefer subtitles

In the manga the girl that falls for Ah jin is a english student. Love at the first sight for her. And she did anything for him. Ah jin says he want his woman to know how to act like a traditional japanese girl. So she started to learn everything about japanese woman and work at the same resturang as him.
She's really cute..a english version of xiangqin.

How in the world is the taiwanese production to to carry that out?
I mean, all of the English speaking people they have ever hired
have been robotic, untalented rejects

Perhaps they're going to change the plot a tad
and make it a Taiwanese girl that has spent her childhood
in America (overly done, but it'll work) and comes back knowing
nothing about the tradition
That's what I'd do
and if they do that, hopefully she'll have good English
Unlike Green Forest my Home, where everyone had horrible accents
with the exception of William, who had a monotone

I'm sure they are going to change the plot. It won't be easy to have a girl from england speaking chinese.. but in the manga she's just a student and she doesn't speak very well either.

Maybe they can change it to a korean girl or a japanese girl.

Good idea. A lot of Korean actors have been coming over
to Taiwanese dramas in the past couple of years.
Like Jang Nara, Wu Zun...
They have been doing spectacular performances,
so Ah Jin paired up with a Korean girl would
be pretty cute.

Did anyone watch the japanese version? I just finished watching it, it is great but too short...

Japanese version (4.5)
-the lead actress was too loud her expressions were way too exaggerated(plus she looked a bit funny)
-the lead actor looked really good He portrayed the character really well
-I notice that it didn't really follow the manga in some parts

Taiwanese version (5)
-the lead actress was great
-the lead actor was very good too...
-almost followed the entire manga

LOL> I can't decide which one was better they were both sooo good, although I would have suggested choosing a better lead actress for Kotoko's role in the Japanese version. Ariel Lin portrayed the character just perfect.

I loved Takashi Kashiwabara in the Japanese version. His portrayal as Naoki was very natural although the script's development made it difficult to see the transition in his feelings for Kotoko towards the end. I'm 3/4 way through the Taiwanese version and I find it too draggy. There were quite a few scenes that were unnecessary and I somehow found Xiang Qin unbelieveably silly and impossible to sympathise with at times but the storyline is better written.

Throughout the show I couldn't help but find myself thinking that Joe Cheng and Joe Ma seem to bear some resemblance. Or should it be Edison Chen from the side profile. Either that or my eyes were playing tricks on me.

This is a fabulous series!! One has to admit, the humorous Joe Cheng (his laugh is something, lol) did great in keeping his composure for the role, whereas, Ariel Lin was just adorable! The sequel to the series is much anticipated!
