I recently finished watching this series....I enjoyed it for its theme (HK working class going to Shanghai to start their careers and finding new opportunities) and great chemistry between the casts. The scenes also look very well done by the director...eventhough this was a mainland production, I was watching the TVB cable version so, I was able to watch this with chilam and Patrick's original voice. Fanbingbing and Kristy's dubbed voices were okay.

People in HK are finding new opportunities in Mainland china especially since it is more assessible these days, Shanghai is also really modern like Hong Kong...I like how this series started..with this as a base story.

I am not surprised by Kiu Lik Hang's love dillema in this series. Kiu Lik Hang (Chilam's character) and Lam (Fan Bing Bing's character) has lots of moments together and they slowly build their relationship, not too rushed and inevitable to begin more than a platonic relationship. I enjoyed watching their progress...very comfortable chemistry. Patrick is also a joy to watch. There are many funny moments when Patrick is around in this series.

Actually there are quite a bit of light-hearted moments throughout this series with all three of them. Not sappy drama on love all the time but also a theme of friendship and working life. The funny moments, heartfelt moments were very nicely done because they are subtle and not slapstick.

A story about ordinary people looking for their own dreams in life. Simple story, realistic acting and charming cast. I like!

hahahaha I can't believe Fan Bing Bing and Kristy Yeung are in the same film! Who looks better? Kristy or Fan Bing Bing??? I will say Kristy Yeung looks better!She looks more natural! Can't believe she is older than FBB..If I didnt know her age I would think they're near their ages!

Oh,I was just based on those pictures. I didn't see the movie or series so maybe you're right that Kristy will look wicked older than her on screen, but based on those pics Fan Bing Bing n kristy aren't that far apart.. Just my opinion.
