The media is reporting it as the China version of Dae Jang Geum. I find that it seems to be more similar to War and Beauty from TVB when I read the beginning of the synopsis.

the costumes in the first pic do look similar to wab, but i think the wab are prettier. these costumes looks weird, especially the hair style.

and what happened to benny chan never wanting to film another qing dynasty series? after qian long he said he didn;t want to film another series that required him to shave his head. then when yan hua san yue came along, he said that it was an exception, cause he liked the script. now look what he's doing.

are there pics of any one else? victor and florence in particular.

I am really looking forward to this show. Florence looks really good in here and the story sounds interesting. Hope that this will be another breakthrough performance for Florence

I like Florence's and the Empress character the most in this series.

Just finished it. The ending gets a bit draggy, but it's a pretty good or OK series overall. Hu Jing's parts with the character An Xue Cheng tends to get draggy as well.
