How can we make SPCNET Forum a better Forum ?

I think spoiler tags for the forum will be nice. With so many discussion about series and stuff, it's convenient to have spoiler tags around for mega plot spoilers. Not everybody enjoy reading what's the ending, and exactly who is the bad guy in the show. There's a choice of not reading certain stuff with spoiler tags around.

As for punctuations and grammar, I don't think it's that big a problem here in Spcnet, most of the posts here are coherent enough. Sure, sentences with no commas or caps or periods are annoying, but flamers and spammers are even worse.

Anyhow, I think clearing up the members' database is a good idea as well.

I've thought about that too when I visit the main homepage. I think it will be nice to have a change of skin over the current one. I keep telling myself to find one but I never got round. I hope I'll find one, and if I do, I'll post it up and ask for ppl's opinions.

Depending on the context, we do. If someone is just quoting from a book or film for the purpose of discussion...no harm, no foul. If it's just to insult someone, however, then it's hail and farewell.

Somehow I feel bored, given the lack of interesting topics in this debate forum, after I've posted in most of the recent topics and given my opinion.

So, Im looking forward to some interesting and REAL (and also new) debate topics.

In a forum, what matters most are the rules, the members, the topics, the mods. As long as these things are fine, then this is a good forum.

I would like to have a forum generally for chit chat and 'spam', many forums have it and I dont see why we shouldnt have it.

Generally, topics left untouched for 1 week or more should be deleted. A new forum should also mean 1 or 2 more mods, as spcnet is quite a big family.

I like the 60 second limit, it prevents double posting, and a reply that is typed under 60 seconds is probably not contributing much to the thread anyway.

It is possible to quote more than one person, just need to use the [ quote=username ] Stuff you wanna quote[ /quote ] tags (without the spaces of course).

The avatar size is alright, it probably would be alot better if the limit is set at 75 by 75 instead of 72 by 72, since it's rather diffcult to find nice avatars with such in awkward size. Not everybody can make and resize their own avartars.

I'd also like some additional cookies.. like, we're able to play RPG games about Wuxia(since we do talk about them here) and, though I know we can't change the rank after Senior Member anymore, in order to prevent spamming, I thought we should change the way to give ranks other than Senior Member then.

We shouldn't count the number of posts, but rather, nominations from other members that that particular member deserves to give him/her own ranking, and of course, this is only once and permanent..

Its just.. I'm bored with the title Senior Member >_>
I thought it would make the thread more interesting.. and even if a member's "spamming" to get "nominations", they'd actually been proving themselves useful , since they know spamming - possibility of being banned. Well, just a thought..
