I read the plot & I think Han Xue is the villain here...

Yeah, she plays Ariel's cat in Heaven, who got let out by Ariel and ran away to earth. The cat was supposedly looking for 100 hearts of filial children to help enhance her cultivation and power.

Or so I've read from the summary. Still haven't seen it yet. So is this series worth buying? As a comedy, is it lame and corny like most Taiwanese drama?

I haven't seen this series yet, but from what I heard it isn't a comedy. It is mainly a love story and is really touching. A lot of the parts just made me cry. One scene was when Xiao Qi(played by Ariel) had to say that she did not love Tong Yong(played by Hu Ge) and gosh it really hurt him. It even hurts any one who watches that scene. The script is really touching too. It has a lot of sweet and touching scenes.... I am planning on buying it...

I heard it is the same producer as Chinese Paladin. This series is based on love more and is different from Chinese Paladin. Some people like it more than Chinese Paladin. I have seen clips of it and it is really touching....The overall plot is different from Chinese Paladin from what I heard.The soundtrack is really really nice too... I love the theme and subsongs too.

In a sense, you can say Han Xue is a villian, but she isn't just pure evil. She loves Hao Qi(played by Bobby Dou) a lot. She was a cat and had 9 lives.. She used all of them to save the people she loved and cared for until she no longer had any lives left. She then died... She also saved Tong Yong as well, so she did a lot of good things too.

Just watched episode 1. The series is soo similar to CP. They even used several of the actors from CP. The cinematography and music is very similar, quite obvious tt it's the same director, even the silly humour is similar to tt in CP. Hu Ge's acting reminds me alot of his role in Xiao Qian, and his hair and dressing are the same for every series. Ariel is pretty sweet, her character reminds me alot of Ah Nu in CP but much cuter and tons more natural. The supporting characters are all pretty good as well.

BTW, i dont think Sun Li is in this series. It's Phyllis Queck instead.

I'm not sure who the producer is for this series "Tian Wai Fei Xian" but both Chinese Paladin and the new mainland version of Liao Zhai with Jimmy Lin and Hu Ge, etc are produced by the same guy - Li Guo Li.
He was also the producer of the earlier Handsome Sibling series with Jimmy Lin, Alec Su and Vivian Chen.

I've watched till episode 4 for now and i have to say tt the highlight of the series so far would have to be Ariel's Xiao Qi. This is the first time i've seen her onscreen and i think she's quite a good actress, a little exaggerated at times but she's very adorable and comical in her expressions. She puts in alot of energy in her acting and is very natural with the cheeky and comical scenes, it is in no way forced and annoying like that of Ah Nu in CP. She is very suited for the role, and it helps that she has that cute look and small frame. She is not as beautiful and elegant as LYF in CP but i much prefer her thn LYF, her character is also tons more lovable and i think she looks more matching with Hu Ge thn LYF. I am however, somewhat disappointed with HG in here, his character is rather bland and does not stand out as much as in CP. He somewhat fades into the background and is clearly overshadowed by Ariel. But my it's only the 4th episode so my opinions may change later.
