I saw a trailer recently on cable (Singapore), and it was advertizing this drama starring Roger Kwok and Annie Man. It was some drama which has something to do with superstition of some sort... any idea what drama's that?

Hey there everyone!!!!
Hehe, yup I'm watching Year of the Chameleon now Cathy and its good!!! Actually I think you know that I finished it off a few days ago. Well Annie is somewhat a main. I think she would rank 3 place as female lead since she does have somewhat of large screentime and her role played a big part in Eric's character development. Anyways Annie appeared right in the beginning of the series and Gilbert appeared towards the middle first partI think that Wong Mei is probably considered the main and Joey is too in a way
![]()
Hehe, the scene where Annie and Gilbert meet is cute!!! Annie was like going home and she bumps stright into Gilbert in the stairs. She almost fell too, but he caught her and pulled her towards him!!! It was cute!!!!
Hey greenie! Thanks for the welcome back. MIssed ya!!! Anyways YOC is an ATV series and it stands for Year of the Chameleon. Stars Wong Mei, Eric Wan, Joey Meng, Gilbert Lam, Annie Man, and a lot more artists!!!
Who is in Riches to Stiches greenie? Haven't heard of this series...or at least can't remember. What is To Love with No Regrets? Lol, I am sooo behind in here. But Annie is in it huh? Thats great!!!! I'm looking forard to it!!!!!
Hmmm.....I don't think I know of any series with Roger and Annie that has superstition.. Oh no, I got it!!! Is it a modern series? If so then I think this is Greed Mask. It was rather good. Wayne Lau, Angie Cheung, Helina Tam, Christine Ng, and etc were also in this series![]()

Hi Everyone!!!
Yeah, the series you're talking about velvet_ice sounds like Greed Mask. I can't think of any other series that Annie and Roger have starred in together.
Have you guys heard the news about TVB cutting back their budgets? They've been cutting jobs of some of the artists. I'm not sure which one's but I'm getting worried. Does anyone know which artists will get affected, is it just the supporting artists that will lose jobs? I hope Annie and my other favorite artists won't get affected by these cutbacks. Maybe they should cutback on promoting Sonjia, Shirley, and Charmaine and give them less series.

Hi Hi Everyone!!!!![]()
TVB is cutting back? Gosh, I didn't know about that. Thanks for the info axt. Hmmm...I'm getting really curious too as to what will happen. However I was told that Louis Koo had just renewed his contract with TVB. Lol, totally agree. Cutting back on Shirley, Sonjia, and Charmiane is a good idea. Shirley really needs to improve her acting first of all and same to Sonjia, but she isn't as bad. I think charmaine is getting to be in too many series, limit her a bit!!!
Gosh, I haven't heard anything about Annie for some time now. Its such a pain to not know a lot about whats with her!!!!!!

Hi everyone!!! I just a came across an article on "TVBspace News Round Up." The article didn't really say much about Annie but it said that she and Charmaine Sheh, Nnadia Chan, Sunny Chan, and Joe Ma where at a costume fitting for a new series called "One Beautiful Spear." The article didn't say which part Annie will be playing but it seems to me like she will be getting a supporting part. I think Charmaine and Nnadia Chan are the leading actresses. They will be pairing Charmaine and Joe Ma together. I think that's kind of weird, Joe looks like Charmaine's older brother.

Hi!! Sorry for taking so long to post again, really busy these days. So MANY things happened (that I wouldn't even think of)!
Anyway, I still go to AnnieMania so if you want to talk to me I'm always there hanging around ^_^. To Love With No Regrets is out already (since March), and I'm excited to see it! I know she doesn't get so much screen time, she only appeared once or twice in the themesong (keke...I'm annoyed because of that). She looks really cute! Saw some screen caps of her, looks like she acts with Bosco a lot (brother and sister).
goddess jie, Riches and Stiches stars Kwong Wah, Moses Chan, Anne Heung, Gigi Lai, Melissa Ng (first time being one of the mains?) and supporting would be Michael Tong. Not until the end did I realize that this is a really sad and painful series, is it just me or do they make it like that all the time in this era? It talks about Moses making Ka Po (I don't know how to translate it!)..you know one of those long traditional dresses in China? Well I finished that...
And then watched Net Deception. Stars Wong Hei, Eddie Kwan, Myolie Wu, Jack Wu, and Tiffany Lam. This was actually a good series! It came pretty weird to me when Jack Wu became main all of sudden from supporting. Guess the same thing happened to Ron Ng and Bosco Wong (if he ever was supporting??). Actually, he did really good!! Wong Hei was best though...he did the portrayal of his "only thiefs will be smart and ignorant people will be cops" theory flawlessly. He's on my favorite list now!! Myolie's hair annoyed me most of the time though...Tiffany Lam was okay, kinda like Sonjia's acting. If I see her more often I would be annoyed but since it's the first time, I'm okay with it. She has so little screen time =). This is a good series, WATCH IT!
I didn't go to read Em's news lately...for months actually but I still managed with the series. Right now I'm watching "The Link," dated 14 years ago, exactly when I was born. The only reason I watch it is because of Ada Choi being the villain...but when I first watched it, Eddie Kwan and Gigi Lai actually had BETTER acting then...Eddie Kwan seems older and less jumpy right now, and Gigi Lai exaggerates too much (you should see her in Riches and Stiches!) now. They're actually a lot better in this series, and boy, this is a LONG series! It was back when there were three episodes to every tape, making it 13 tapes. I'm finally to the part where Ada Choi comes in as a 19 year old...boy that's a young role! She looks really cute (weird saying it now haha)...sad how she will be a heartless villain who's going to die at the end.
About the series, One Beautiful Spear, seems like Annie's supporting with Charmaind in the way, and Nnadia. But no matters, seems like at least she knows how to fight, and pairing with Sunny! They actually look compatible together, just don't like the fact that Annie's going to be spoiled...but it's all okay, I like serious wuxia series. Did you hear the Nnadia's going to fall in love with Sek Sau? That's even weirder than Charmaine and Joe Ma! It's weird how they give Sek Sau these youthful roles...not meaning to insult him or anything..Anyway, hope they quickly finish filming HAHA!
Anyway, I'm done with my ranting, hope any of you reply?
Today is the tommorow you worried about yesterday.

TO AXt, Thanks for the news about TVB. I can't believe they are making budget cuts! I guess it is because their industry is going down to their only average productions. I hope they won't cut anything from Annie and other talented stars. They should cut Sonja and other untalented people.
By the way, did you guys know if Annie went to Frankie and Kenix's wedding on March 10?? I think she was invited but couldn't make it.
Wait I just found out that Annie was one of the sisters at their wedding!!! YES, I am soo happy to hear that!! Here is some news from Em's site:
Frankie Lam and Kenix Kwok will be tying the knot today after dating for nine years. The ceremony will take place at 2:45 pm at the Tsimashatsui Cultural Centre and a banquet will be held in the evening at the Intercontinental Hotel. Although the couple are Christians, they still followed the old traditions and will not see each other for the day before the wedding.
The couple have parted company from each other as of noon yesterday and Frankie continued his preparations for the wedding whilst Kenix was busy making herself look beautiful in the hope of being the prettiest bride. In the evening she returned to her parents' home to spend her last day before her marriage with them.
Although the couple have had many wedding scenes in their acting careers and felt that their own wedding would lose its appeal, this is far from reality as their real wedding day approaches the excitement mounts up for them and Kenix predicts that she will cry during the ceremony. She says: "My Christian friends keep reminding me that I am very fortunate to have such a husband and I should treasure him, so I really have to change my bad temper and not torture him any more." Kenix joined the Christian faith three months ago in the hope of reforming herself with the help of God. She says: "My temper is very hard to bear and I have hurt Frankie in the past, but he has never given up on me and still supports me totally. I am very touched and I know I have to change all along, but I couldn't, so I am seeking help from God in the hope of becoming a good wife."
During an earlier interview with the radio station, the couple revealed that the 'brothers and sisters' will include Christine Ng, Anne Heung, Annie Man, Timmy Hung, Louis Yuen, Michael Tse and Johnny Tang. Frankie says he has already prepared the door-opening money and jokes: "There will be two envelopes, one with Japanese currency and the other with Korean." He also reveals he has pre-marital fears: "I am worried about so many things and feel uncomfortable. Then I am worried about what the press will write and that it will be negative."
The couple have received many sponsorship offers, including cakes, cars and gowns. Among these, Kee Wah cakes have given them unique Chinese wedding cakes that have their names imprinted into them. Also some fans have placed an ad wishing them to hurry up and have a football team, but Kenix says that it will be at least one or two years before they have children because their work schedules are so tightly packed.

Respect other people's opinions and views. If we learn how to do that than all of these fights and arguments will not occur.
Yep...here's a picture to indicate that...(Charmaine had to fill in Annie's slot that day). She's the one next to Frankie:

I have already seen that pix but thanks anyway! Too bad Charmaine and others couldn't make it. I think it was nice of Charmaine to fill in for Annie so that she can be at the wedding.
Respect other people's opinions and views. If we learn how to do that than all of these fights and arguments will not occur.
Hi Greeniceflower and Trinie!!! Thanks for the article and picture you guys. I haven't seen you in the Benny forum for a long time greeniceflower. You should drop in sometime, it's really quiet over there.
Yeah, I can't believe Charmaine is getting the lead in the new series instead of Annie. To make it worse it seems like Nnadia is getting a bigger role than her. Who's Sek Sau? Well, I just hope Annie gets a lot of screen time.
Yeah, it was nice of Charm to fill in for Annie to attend the wedding. Annie was one of the sisters, what does that mean, was she a brides maid?
I'm suprised you didn't know about the budget cuts Trinie, it was all on Em's site a few months ago. But yeah, I agree, hope they cut the untalented people. Hmm, maybe they shouldn't of built a new studio since they don't have a big budget anymore.
Hi AXT!! You are welcome! Thanks for your news about the budget cuts. Gosh it seems like budget cuts are everywhere. It is happening at my university too.
Sek Sau is an 80s star that was in many series. He came from TVB too. If you saw DGSD in the 82 from TVB, he is the one that played Mo Rong Fu.
Yea, one of the sisters meant she was a bride's maid. I didn't know that she and Kenix were such close friends because I think you would only want a close friend to be one of your bride's maid.
I wonder why they are having the budget cuts?? I am guessing it is because they aren't making as much as before due to the bad quality of most of their series these days. Therefore, they have to make these cuts. Or maybe it's because they spent too much on the new studio...
Respect other people's opinions and views. If we learn how to do that than all of these fights and arguments will not occur.
Hi Trinie!!! You're welcome!!! Yup, budget cuts seem to be everywhere. Same here, my university are having budget cuts too and they have raised up tuition and added a surcharge.
No, I don't recall watching DGSD '82, I might have but don't really remember the cast well. So I still have no idea who Sek Sau is. Since he is from the 80's he must be older than Nnadia then. That would be strange then.
That's true, Annie and Kenix must be close friends since Annie's a sister. I didn't know that either but you don't really hear who's friends with who in the news.
I'm not sure of the budget cuts. Yeah, maybe because the series quality have gone down or maybe they spent too much on their studio. I wouldn't be suprised if the quality of series become even worse than they are now.
I didn't know Tiffany Lam was in Net Deception. That must be her last role since I heard she decided to pursue her education.
haven't been dropping by in a long time so here I am. Looks like it's been pretty quiet since 16 March... this thread was pushed all the way to the 2nd page.
Anyway, Yup, I found out myself too that the series that I was talking about is named Greed Mask. And haha, it's not about superstition I guess, the chinese name led me to conclude that it was about superstition. Anyway, what's it about? I heard Annie plays a deaf villainess in there? Is there any truth to that?
Craptastic. Another supporting role... why?! ... anyway, I hope TVB knows what they're doing...
But now I'm confused... so what exactly is she doing, or has done recently? To Love with No Regrets, and?

Hi velvet_ice!!! Yeah, it's been very very quiet. I wonder where everyone else is.
No, no, Annie is not a villainess in Greed Mask. She plays Rogers cousin and yes her character is deaf. It's a mystery type series that evolves around Rogers family. It's a pretty intersting series. It was pretty suspenseful, you never know what will happen next. I enjoyed it a lot when I watched it. The only thing I have to complain about the series is the ending but overall I think its worth watching. Annie's performance was very good in that series but too bad she's only a supporting character.
Annie's currently filming a series called "One Beautiful Spear" with Charmaine Sheh, Nnadia Chan, Joe Ma, and Sunny Chan. It seems like she will be a supporting actress but I'm not really sure the article didn't really say much about what character she will be playing and if she is leading or not. I haven't heard any further news about either.
Hey there you guys!!!!
Everyone doing well? Thats good to hear if you are. Anyways like greenie I have also been busy, but when aren't I busy?
Yay!!!!! To Love with No Regrets is out already? That means it should be coming out in Vietnamese soon. Finally something with Annie in it!!!!!
Oh Oh Oh!! She's going to be in another series huh? That sounds good and even better that she pairs with Sunny Chan!!!!! From that picture axt posted with Annie and Sunny, I find them compatiable. Hehe, is it just me or does Annie look somewhat really cute in that plain costume with her hair sorta to one side? I love that hairstyle with herI hope her role in here isn't too small though. Hmmm....I'm thinking her role might be somewhat large too though since she pairs with Sunny and yeah....
I havne't been up to date with everything for so long!!!! So Frankie and Kenix are now married? hehe, thats great!!! Finally after so many years!!! Oh, I like that picture, haven't seen it till now. Anyways Annie looks really nice in there!!! Lol, again is it just me or does she look extremely cute standing next to Frankie?I actually find her compatiabler in the pic with Frankie. (Could be Kenix's bangs. *Goddess nods head at that*)
hehe, these two have so many friends in the business and its nice to hear that a lot of their best mans and bridemades are other artists. I recognize many of the guys in the picture, but not too many of the females in there. I can tell Annie and Anne. Hmmm...question now. So Annie was busy on the wedding, but was able to come since Charmine filled in her spot at whatever she needed to be at? A little confused there.
Anyways I was watching Flaming Brothers, the ATV production with Michael Tao and Patrick Tam, and Annie had a guest appearence!!! Not too much to mention really, but I enjoyed seeing her. Hehe, she does look cute with Michael![]()

I wish TVB will cast Annie as the lead actress over Charmaine in One Beautiful Spear. Charmaine seems to be taking a lot of lead roles and I had enough of her. I am hoping Annie will get more lead roles coz she is a great actress and also an asset to TVB. I just found out that she came from ATV and had acted quite a bit of ATV series. Her first TVB series is Legendary of 4 Aces, that was also the first time I saw her and I liked her ever since then.
I hope TVB will drop most of the lead roles on Charmaine, Sonija and Shirley Yeung. Yucks!!![]()
*A smile is contagious; be a carrier*
Hi all!!!
Same her bubcas, I wished Annie would get the leading role instead of Charmaine in the new series. But like goddessofhonour said, she probably is getting a pretty significant role since she's paired with Sunny. Just hope that she gets a lot of screen time. Yeah, I am absolutely sick of Charmaine. And I agree they should definately give the three Miss HKs less leading roles.
Totally agree with goddessofhonour, I think Annie looks really pretty even though her costume is plain. I think she looks good most of the time regardless of what costumes she wears. She's very photogenic.
Hey there everyone!!!!!!!
I know what you mean bubcas. It totally stinks that most of the Miss Hong Kongs are being so promoted in TVB series even though some of them are still really raw. One example is Shirley Yeung. Her first lead role stinked!!! I can stand her in minor ones, but main roles like in Find the Light....k:
You know, Annie looks mostly at her best when she is more in the plain style. but when she is really dressed up, she looks really pretty too!!! I can't wait for more pictures from the series. Agree with you axt. Annie is quite photogenic!!!

I agree shirley's first lead role in the series In the Realm of Fancy stunk and she was bad in Find the Light too, no improvement. I haven't seen her in any supporting roles yet. She also looks very childish, not leading type. Kind of reminds me of either Mickey Mouse or the Olsen Twins.
Another example would be Sonija Kwok. Still a horrible actress, not pretty either yet heavily promoted.
