The theme song just got released, by Jay Chou, its not bad.

it is perhaps telling that asian cultures still take their nationalistic heroes seriously while potter and batman & co. are revered like second coming in western hemisphere.
Its just been confirmed that Gongli has been axed from the film , and its film time has been reduced to 107 mins. Jet Li even went to make a personal apology to her, but she seems to be taking this really well.
its NOT Gong Li, its Michelle Yeoh....Originally Posted by YummYYummY

Okay , not quite as earth-shattering good as I expected but it's as good as some of Jet Li's old classics more so in light of this CNY's craplistic movie line-up..
The Best fights are against fellow chinese fighters, esp the one on the tall wooden platform, the fight against master Qin is intense and trashed the place up real good ,but I prefer fist fights...
The fight with the American Obrien (nathan jones)is the most interesting of the non traddtional match- up, adn the ending is just so.....
the fights against the four foreign fighters was a bit underwhelming,
against the first 3 , it's over very quickly, and abit too easy..
And as ultimate fnal show-down goes.. the final fight with the japanese fighter is good, but a bit short and not quite intense,I guess can't be helped, since both fighters have mutual respect and are not out to kill each other

Did Jet Li retire because he injured his back? Or did he feel he have proved himself? I dont know, my dad said he injured his back, although I couldnt find evidence of it on the net.
Good stuff by the way.

Go watch Fearless, but if possible try to watch the uncut version. Overall I think it's a good movie.
The ending is actually quite expected if you know Huo Yuan Jia's history.
Yeah, I hope too...my sister siad me that "Dany the dog" isn't very well ! Hope this ancient movie will be better than his lasts american movies too!Originally Posted by chuy605

is this movie based on true story? it's sad that there's no subtitles for those long chinese sentences at the begining and the end of the movie. anyone remember?
Most likely not. But if it is then that be interesting.Originally Posted by kacheek
Great movie; decent plot, great fight scenes, nice looking cast and impressive sets.
Only one criticism: Jet Li's/Huo's romance with the village girl is implausible. Why was she attracted to Jet? (There seemed to be no lack of men in the village.) Its certainly not because of his looks; she was blind. It can't be his charisma or personality; he hardly spoke a word during their time together and she didn't know about his fame as a fighter or his martial skills.
Nevertheless, I strongly recommend this movie. Definitely one of Jet's best.

Great movie but several times I screamed 'I've seen those moves before'
I like the fight scenes in Sha Po Lang better, more intense, raw, bloodier, and fierce.
Anyone knows why this movie was a big deal for Jet Li? Someone told me he's broke, is that true?
