I'm a LYF fan... so... yeahI know she acts like the same way in almost every series she's in. But i think that's what makes her special. I can't believe you didn't like her in Chinese Paladin. I thought she was pretty cute. I don't know, i just like her style I guess. She's also really famous too. She's probably the most famous actress in Mainland China.

SFF's new drama, "Kong Que Dong Nan Fei" (The Peacocks fly Southeast) is currently airing in China and apparently she's been receiving positive reviews for her performance. SFF's currently working another classical romantic soap, "Mu Dan Ting" (The Peony Pavilion).
She looks beautiful in traditional costume as usual but I really don't like the look of her male co-star, Sha Yi.
On a side note, I chanced upon something interesting in a recent article featuring a personal interview with SFF. She shares her thoughts on marrying rich vs talented/intelligent men, as well as rumours circulating on her health and her apparent plastic surgery. Towards the end of the interview, the reporter asks her which piece of rumour has she been most depressed with and she admitted:
"Xiao Long Nu. Before Zhang Jizhong's "Shen Diao Xia Lu" started filming, many reports stated that people found me suitable as Xiao Long Nu. I was pretty confident then and didn't think there would be much of a problem performing well for this role. Later, some reports suddenly stated that I had no confidence for the role though I didn't bother much about it. After this incident, a member of the crew whom I'm very close with told me that I was more or less confirmed for the role but wasn't chosen in the end because I said I was not confident in performing well. I felt wrongly accused because I've never stated that I lacked confidence. Actually I was really interested in XLN's role, perhaps some people wanted to promote their relative for the role (probably referring to Liu Yi Fei who was finally cast). Anyhow, I just felt like I naively became a sacrificial product."

LYF was a decent XLN but I would have like to see SFF in the role if given the chance. It's a huge pity SFF wasn't considered for Zhou Zhiruo (in ZJZ's latest HSDS) as well because (although it's quite difficult to say that she would have done excellent) at least she would have given us a much more beautiful and sophisticated-looking ZZR than Liu Jing (who plays the current ZZR).

Hi there SunnySnow, I'm glad there's some news on SFF, she's been off the radar lately![]()
First comment, SFF looked so elegance!. Second, her male costar looked weird, the pin on his hair is even weirder
I didn't know that SFF was offered the role of XLN, I would love to see her as the Little Dragon Girl
I'm surpised they still talk about that role after ROCH '06 had been air for 2 or 3 years now.
I might be wrong, I thought most actresses that potrayed the role of XLN didn't go anywhere far with their career. They might get very popular right after the series aired, but in the long run, we don't see those XLN actresses anymore.
Look at Idy Chan, she retired a few years later, right? She just came back with TVB for Catch Me If You Can, not sure if she's going to be in another TVB series.
For Carmen Lee, she didn't have many series afterward. Same with LYF, I don't know what's she up too. After The Forbidden Kingdom and some ads she had, not sure if she's working on any project

I think SFF is underrated, just like Ady. Luckily after so many series Ady finally reach her luck and starred in HSDS. Maybe the time to shine for SFF haven't come yet. I'm sure true talent will get recognize and will get the admiration from the viewers![]()
SFF definitely should be in another JY Adaptation. I was really hoping it was HSDS but unfortunately it went to LJ. Well here's to hoping that she get the next XLN role...hopefully in the next adapation![]()

Add me to the list of supporters for SFF as ZZR. When I watched BXJ, I could totally imagine SFF in the role of ZZR. But had she taken the role, she would once again not end up with the hero. Even in acting, I prefer to see her have happy endings.
I thnk SFF would have been a good XLN too but sadly due to the twist of fate, LYF got the role instead. But then again, that may be a good thing since that role has been played so many times by many other people. I think SFF would have a better chance of getting famous if she played a more original role.
About Idy, she actually did a lot of Taiwanese series until the early 90s and then retired and just came back recently. She also played Huang Rong for the Taiwanese version of Legend of Condor Heroes.
With Carmen, she actually did a lot of series afterwards but not for TVB. She acted in many series from China and Taiwan.
With LYF, she is also a singer now she is busy releasing albums as well.
I think in the circle, a lot of it is fate, luck, connections,timing,etc... I don't think it is just talent and looks only.
