I know the feeling, there are some people I think I've seen a lot, and when I actually count them it's not many. I think because they act in a lot of other non-Jin Yong serials.

Idy Chan was also Wong Yung in a 1988 Taiwan version of LOCH. So that puts her at 4.

I know he played one of the 7 Freaks in LOCH 94 (the scholar who is good at picking pockets). I think he is also one of the 7 Wudang Heroes in HSDS 00, if I remember correctly. He wa also in DOMD 98 I think.

- Kwan Hoi San has 10 appearances, he played the eunuch coroner in The Duke of Mount Deer 1998. This eunuch coroner did not have a name in the novel, this role was quite extended in the 1998 adaptation.

- Kenneth Chun Kong: He played the Xixia emperor in DGSD 1982.

- Lau Siu Ming: He played Chen Shiguan in The Book and Sword 1989 (father of Chen Jialuo).

- Lau Dan: He also played Wu Sangui in a flashback scene in the Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain 1984.

- Yeung Chak Lam: He also played Feng Tiannan in The Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain 1984.

haha! I grew up in the eighties with TVB rental tapes. I learnt my Cantonese from TVB, it became my third language.

But Guan Jing had several roles in The Duke of Mount Deer 1984, he played several characters.

Dai Chi Wai: He had a role in A Deadly Secret too as the rather "bad" cousin of Shui Sheng. He also was Qi Yunao (5 Poison Sect elder) in A Crimsom Sabre 2000.

Ai Wai: He played Duo Long, commander of the imperial guards in The Duke of Mount Deer 1998.

Chan Wing Chun: He played some bandit in The Crimson Sabre 2000 and he also played the ancestor of Tian Guinong in The Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain 1984. He was also Chang Heizhi (one of the twin brothers of Red Flower Society) in The Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain 1999. He was also Feng Jizhong (the traitor in the Heaven and Earth Society) in the Duke of Mount Deer 1998.

Chun Wong was Zhao Banshan twice, and also Mao 18 twice. Considering only the Condor Heroes characters are casted more than 3 times (HSDS manages 3 versions in just over 2 decades) I'd say Lau Dan and Gong Ngai will reign undefeated.

There one more possible chap - the chap who played Sha Tongtian in LOCH 94 and ROCH 96 also played one of Wanyan Honglie's henchmen in LOCH 82 and ROCH 84, although I'm not sure if it was Sha Tongtian or Pang Lianhu. If it was Sha he'd tie with Lau Dan and Gong Ngai too.
