CRimson Sabre 2000 was crap I thought .
It started fairly well but degenerated into menaingless drivel. I don't know how anyone can rate this as a good SAS series .
It was rubbish compared to Bladeheart , Against the blade of hounour and The romantic swordsman .

The chap who played Ma Yu in LOCH 82 and ROCH 83 had 2 roles in DOMD 86: a Duke of something or other and an equally sycophantic senior Shaolin monk who tried to teach Wei Xiaobao some martial arts. He was also Yin Tianzheng in HSDS 86.
Also, wasn't Bao Fong (Z3F in HSDS 86) also Sweeper in DGSD 81?
Cheung Ying Choy (most recently Raymond Lam's elder brother in Face to Fate) played Ma Yu, and also played the monk who tried to teach Wei Xiaobao the finger art. The Duke (I'm assuming you're referring to the one whose son was killed by Aobai), and Yin Tianzheng of HSDS 86 were both played by the late Lum Theen.
Bao Fong was Sweeper in DGSD '97 - I don't know the name of the old man in the '81 version.

I'm necroing this thread partly because of the revival in interest in discussing TVB actors, and partly because I'm watching DGSD 81 now and noticed a few interesting people I'd like to add. I'd also like to add the late Wong Wai's entry in his Book and Sword 76 role as Han Wenchong. And I guess I also need to compile the list in an easier-to-read form than just the 6-page discussion.
Wong Wai - 6
Wanyan Honglie - LOCH 94
Yue Buqun - XAJH 95
Yelu Hongji - DGSD 97
Chongzhen - BXJ 00
Wu Sangui - DOMD 98
Han Wenchong - B&S 76
DGSD 81 was a nightmare of a serial in terms of casting, just like Luk Siu Fung of the 70s. Actors will double in other parts, sometimes in between appearances of their main characters - not just the well-known Cecilia Wong, but a ton of kelefes acted more than once. I'll list the ones I recall as well as some other notable roles and add them to the consolidated list afterwards:-
Guan Jing
A fighter surnamed "Xiang", ran away after Xiao Feng beat him at Jui Yuan manor.
A general in the Liao army, loyal to Xiao Feng
Yip Tin Hang
Lu Yi Hai, Xixia general
A fighter surnamed "Bao", ran away after Xiao Feng beat him at Jui Yuan manor.
Ma Chung Tak
Xixia General Hak Lin Tit Su
Elder Yau brother of Jui Yan Manor
Kong Ngai
Reverend Xuanku
Yee Chi Ming
Bao Bat Tong
Mak Tze Wan
Some Beggar Clan elder loyal to Murong Fu
Yu Guanghao (which we already counted, I think)
Tam Yat Ching
Old Man Tam (funnily enough)
Right, time to work on a consolidated list... =(
She was also Tong Gu Gu in DOMD 98.
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but he was also 1 of the 3 Du monks in HSDS 86.Some chap whose name I don't know, but I see him a lot - 7
Lu Youjiao - LOCH 82
Qi Changfa - LCJ 88
Wanyan Honglie's brother - LOCH 94
Yu Changhai - XAJH 95
Xiao Shuangzi - ROCH 96
Buping Priest - DGSD 97
5th Wen brother - BXJ 00
Ian, a lot of these people probably acted in more roles, but some of them are easily forgetabble unless you watch the series over and over again.
