Your Favorite Series of Series

What's your favorite TVB series that has at least 3 total installments? If inclined, please give reasons or opinions on overall production, storyline/plot, characters, casting, etc. to support your choice.

i chose AR. as much as i liked HH, i thought only the first one was good whereas i liked all of the installments of AR, except i haven't seen the fourth one cuz of the bad marco ending. but they were really enjoyable

I enjoy the AR series. It has a great cast and I felt the pairings have great chemistry, Marco/Joyce and Ester/Bobby. This series has a nice mixture of comedy, drama, and action. I can't wait to see a 5th installment.

The "third part" wasn't a TVB production and the only significant connection between it and the two TVB ones was Bobby Auyang. Besides, if you still disagree, that's why I included the fifth poll option.

HH3 isn't as good as the other 2. I chose HH anyways because I never watched the others. lol

I've voted for DIF even though I haven't seen any of HH or watched all of the FoJ installments yet.

I've only seen DIF IV haven't seen the others but I'm quite sure I would enjoy those as well. I quite enjoy those types of series. I would of liked it if they did UE III...that way I would of watched all of them. So far I have watched all AR series...but I dont remember the first one cos I was still at that kiddy stage hahah

Yeah, definitely watch at least DIF 1 and 2, neverland. I didn't think 3 was as good.

I wish they would make more UE series too.

I want to but as you can see my tvb viewing is limited to the shows that they show on cable. Hopefully they will air some of them but its quite old isnt it? 1997?

Yeah, the first DIF came out in 1995 and the last one (part IV) in 1999.

Wow that was quite awhile ago. I heard that the original ones were better than the fourth installment wasnt it? I guess I shouldnt say anything since I only seen the last one!

It's kind of hard to compare the 4th one with the original ones since the main cast totally changed, but here's my personal ranking starting with my favorite installment: 2, 1, 4, 3

Thats understandable but you know how people say nothing beats the original...in casting I mean. But I really would love to see the first 3 installments...at least theres a similar series releasing soon...I could at least look out for that!!!

I sincerely hope they make a fifth one, even though the fourth one wasn't that great it was to open ended and just so many unanswered questions. Even if it was a 20 episode series, its enough to satisfy me.

There'd better be a 5th one. They can't just leave Marco's character missing like that...

True, it's very difficult to beat original casting just as it is to erase first impressions. I loved the Michael Tao - Joey Leung partnership in the first 3 installments and I liked Sunny Chan and Louis Koo in DIF IV. I didn't like Charmaine Sheh or Lee San San nearly as much as Kenix Kwok, though.

I wouldn't mind if they made another DIF, but there would more than likely be yet another all-new cast given that it's been almost 7 years since the last one. They might as well give it another name.

I know...sometimes people can get confused...reminds me of BF II. I thought it was actually a sequel to it but happens to be a completley different series with only the fact that Wong Hei was in both of them. That got me real confused in the discussion topics!!

Huh? You mean BF II was not a continuation of BF I? Did Wong Hei's character at least have the same name?
