But the plot is changed so it does not continue goong 1. therefore, there is less pressure to compare the cast or story with goong 1.

Like I said, WE should not compare it to the first one. It's a different cast with a different story about korean royalty, its not a continuation of the first. So don't compare it to the first one. To be fair, just treat it as a different series with the similiar theme as having princes and princesses.

Well, it appears that Yun Eun Hye is angry that she has been left out in the sequel, she denies that she turned downed the role. She is calling Goong2 as a side story and hopes that she could appear in the "real" sequel soon.

    The left out

Joo Ji Hun(Prince Shin) : Shooting a movie.
    Yun Eun Hye : Available.
Kim Jung Hoon(Pince Yul) : Available.
Song Ji Hyo(Min Hyo Lin) : Shooting Jumong.

    Returning Cast

The Queen(Shin's older sister) : Since she is unmarried and has no kids, they must somehow find a new heir, while overlooking Prince Shin and Prince Yul.
The Imperial Family : Yup, they are coming back.

    Newbie

The Delivery Man(aka the Prince who delivers Chinese food) : Unknown cast.

    Talking Goong 2

I was hoping for the original cast with Shin and Chaegyung. They make the movie so much more interesting. But i'm okay with the new cast and new plot. I hope that they would at least let us know about shin and chaegyung so we know about what happened and the new baby. can't wait for it to come out.

well..i know..but somehow..u c..since they r both bearing the title of 'Goong', ppl would be bound to have this idea of comparing the standards of both Goong 1 and 2...hmm..but i would try to take it as a entirely new series and give it ratings based on its casts performance without any comparision..

Since everything change, I think they should change the title too, so that
my favourite "Goong" will always remain as "Goong" no 1 and 2.

Why not just think of it as a "collection of stories about the Palace"? Where theres different stories about the palace, the princes and princesses.

If they did continue the story, I don't know how they could have continued the story of Shin and ChaeGyung. For goodness sake, they're married and living happily outside the palace ( I guess), so why would you want a continuation to make them go through more heartache and pain and all that conflict for? If they did include Shin and CG in this sequel, its probably better if they act as supporting characters.

However, I wouldn't mind having Yul be included in that new long-lost prince storyline and have Yul find a new love prospect.

Agree totally with you SS, don't continue and give them a tough time. But I would love Yul to have a love prospect. He was afterall my favorite character in Goong. I like him more than Shin because he is not afraid to show his feelings and his words are very touching.

    Unhappy Here's something I found.......

This is very disappointing to me. I was hoping that the original casts will be in Goong 2 but it doesn't looks like it. I wanted to know about their marriage and child that they had. i guess its okay........still can't wait for the next one.

The immensely popular “Goong – Sassy Princess” is scheduled to begin shooting its sequel in October. However, it was still unclear whether the original leads will continue their performance. On the 15th, when director Hwang Inroe accepted an interview, he finally revealed and confirmed that “Goong II” will have an entirely new cast. The four leads Ju Ji Hoon, Yoon Eun Hye, Kim Jung Hoon and Song Ji Hyo will not participate in the sequel.

Although many fans of “Goong” were filled with anticipation for the confirmation of the four leads, but they will have to be disappointed. Hwang Inroe, who is responsible for the shooting of “Goong II”, expressed: “Both Ju Ji Hoon and Song Ji Hyo have decided to do another work. Yoon Eun Hye has another reason, but the three of them have told me that they were unable to film the sequel. Only Kim Jung Hoon has promised to accept it. Therefore “Goong II” will be shown to the viewers with an entirely new cast as well as a different plot.” Regarding the fact that he has to prepare four new people to take up these characters, Hwang Inroe could hardly conceal that he feels abandoned.

Hwang Inroe indicated that “Goong II” will continue with the theme of a fictional South Korean monarchy, showing how tradition and the present can co-exist together. The plot will also be tied to the first series. The ending of “Goong” revealed that ultimately Lee Shin and Lee Yul didn’t inherit the throne, leading to the temporarily ascension of Shin’s sister Hyemyeong. The sequel will thus continue with this plot as the palace discovers the existence of a royal grandson living among commoners. In turns out that he have absolutely no clue about his identity. After he graduated from high school, he works as a delivery boy. He didn’t know until the palace invited him to come and he suddenly became a member of the imperial family in one night. Upon his entrance in the palace, he began his training. He will be groomed to become emperor. The inspiration for this plot came from the true story of the Joseon dynasty where a commoner became the emperor.

Currently, the drama team of “Goong II” is building a new scenery nearby Hwaseong, Suwon. They are also diligently trying out different filming angles. After the new leads are confirmed begin October, they will immediately start filming. It will then be broadcasted next year in January.

The time to be disappointed is over, people. I think this new angle is pretty interesting in itself. You guys seriously need to get over it. Maybe it will mention only about what happened to Shin and CG and move on to the new story!

Shin and CG deserves to be living "happily ever after" stop demanding for a continuation of their story, they don't need more conflict and hardship to their story anymore. If you continue the story, the story would need to have new conflicts and drama, and if you truly want them to be happy, just be happy with the Goong 1. And welcome Goong 2's new storyline with joy, people. PLEASE!

    Finally i've finished the drama.

I simply love yul. He has a great character. (Guys like him doesn't exist these days, eh? ) His role was pitiful enough to make my tears roll, having snapped back to square one after going through so much. Can't he at least be in the palace??? He would make a good prince.

Anyone knows the songs in Goong? There's a song i wonder if it was sung by Kim Jeong Hoon (yul). Not the duet but by a male, where i think the lyrics goes "I'm a fool, you're a fool, we're both fools....." Hahaha.

The credits are in Korean so it was difficult to find the song. Anyone knows where to download? Thanks.

Oh yep, no one mention the 'sister' who serve CG? She was so pretty! Hahaha. She's the one whom CG dressed up in the last episode. That was so funny.

Yep, kinda disappointed too, that Goong 2 has new cast. NOw i'm searching more news and dramas of Kim Jeong Hoon.
I am grateful when new friends come into my life, but old friends are the best. I know this is true because of YOU.

I don't mind the new angle at all. Of course you would have to start with a new angle since sg gave up the throne. Didn't mean to offend anyone if I did. Besides that, you do have to think of how they would continue the drama and make it like 16 episodes or something with what problems. Just wanted to know about yul and if he will have a happy life. of course people will be curious as to what happened to the happy couple and how they are doing, eventhough it ended with a happy ending. I wonder if they are going to include a new love interest for the sister. I hope so, so that way it would be a happy ending all around.

    Let the blame game begins.

Yun Eun Hye is blaming the director for leaving her out of the sequel, while the director is blaming Yun Eun Hye(or her management agency) for demanding too much money for the sequel. The director claims he can make a better show by not spending money on Yun Eun Hye and old cast.

This is going as crazy as the Heaven's series director badmouthing Kwon Sang Woo for turning the lead down for Heaven's Tree.

Anyway without JJH in the sequel, even if YEH is available is kinda useless too. Can't possible CG returns to the palace without Shin or divorcing! Actually a new cast is a good idea I suppose, more developments & imaginary space for the scripwriter to think as well...

I was hoping to see the development of CG's friend (the one with glasses) and Shin's friend in part 2 but well, I guess that is impossible now.

Yes, Shin's and CG's friend are cute to look at, just wonder whether their friends

I'm fine with the 4 main leads not returning, they can keep making many seasons of Goong with different people and storyline lol. Since Joo Ji-hoon and Song Ji-hyo are occupied with other roles, I thought also Yoon Eun-hye deserved a break for herself after she completed another drama recently

But great to know the Imperial Family will be back.
