He almost marries her, but her mother resents his origins and in the end, he marries Yat Jer's servant girl Tsui See (Nadia Chan) instead. Tsui See tries her hardest to make Kiu happy and eventually wins over his heart. Kiu eventually passes the exams and becomes an official and happily returns to his village - only to find that his wife dies whilst trying to save him. Before she dies, Tsui See convinces Kiu to marry Ng Mui (Myolie Wu). Kiu has no feelings towards Mui but she does not mind this. Yat Jer plots to ruin Kiu and it is down to Ng Mui to do his running around for him.

After working for most of his life, Kiu is left with little to show for this and before he leaves for his village to retire with Ng Mui, he leaves behind the words "Ignorance is Bliss" to Qianlong - reflecting his experiences.

Thanks Charmaine - glad you are enjoying them! I am just translating them from the Chinese ones on the TVBI site, so if you have any you want me to do then just let me know!! It's sad, but it keeps me occupied - plus I get to find out what the shows are about, I guess.

Hope TVB brings out something good for me to watch soon...

"Training one's determination through burning flames and thick smoke,
Saving other's lives through selfless commitment."

The path through life is twisted and uneven, who has never fallen?
For those who fight fires and save lives, there is no exception.

After fire fighter, Kei Tak Tin (Wong Hei)'s wife dies, his attitude to work deteriorates. Just as he is in his prime, can he just pass the time away so steadily?

Experienced commander Tong Ming (Alex Fong) has been in many a fire. When he is in the frontline, why can he have so little control over his team?

Choi Nam Fung (Au Kam Tong) is left by his girlfriend because he has no future in his job. After changing to become a firefighter, his new girlfriend is forever worried about his safety. Will he give up on his dream job for this reason?

Chung Yan Yee (Maggie Cheung) is part of the lifesaver team. Outwardly strong and cool, she hides a past which she cannot reveal. Will living with a nightmare history affect her future career?

Kong Yat Nga (Yoyo Mung) is Ming's wife who depends on him greatly and brings him even greater pressures. As the marriage breaks down, she can only leave. After the tears, can she compose herself again?

Yip Heung Yeung (Annie Man) is in love with a martial arts instructor and is Fung's trainer. After her boyfriend dies, Fung becomes her counsellor, but can this master and disciple overcome their reservations and be together?

After you fall, if you can stand up again - life is still precious.
