FORUM was down for about 2 days..what happenend?

The forum was down for about 2 days...but recovered quite quickly this time..I am just curious what happen this time....?

I'm wondering about that too...perhaps there was a glitch on the forum, the main site was fine, so it couldn't have been the server.

From our hosting company:

Yesterday we had a problem on the datacenter when a generator failed. Some
server were rebooted. It looks like you need to start the mysql server.

Is it possible to add a FYI section somewhere near the top of the home page.
Unless the entire SPCNET site is down, the administrator can update us as to what is happening to the subsections in the FYI section.
It is quite stressful to be trying to access the sites several times a day to check if things have returned to normal.

I am sure many forumers will appreciate this information link.

Good idea. I was thinking of using e-mail to inform spcnet's member if the forum is down. But adding a FYI section will be more convenient, afterall not all members will be checking e-mail everyday. E-mail can be used if both spcnet site & forum down.
