Dad in Korean is "appa", I think by "obba" you mean "oppa" (but it sounds more like "obba"). And "oppa" is what Korean girls call their older brothers, older male friends, or boyfriends.

Appa is an informal way to call dad while the formal pronunciation is something else but I don't know.
