Question What Chinese Series Are You Watching?

I'm watching Jin Hun, a drama about the 50-year marriage of a couple spanning from 1956 to 2006. There's one episode for each year. It's a very good series with many funny and realistic moments. I also find it to be a very interesting glimpse into my grandparents' generation.

I just finished watching this series Hu Shan Xing:

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg7/exadel/274eb54c.jpg')

This series is a remake of the old HK ATV series 再向虎山行 starring Michelle Yim and Wu Wei Guo. I watched the HK show many years back but can't remember the storyline at all but recalled that it was a popular show back then.

I found the remake quite good - an interesting storyline, action-packed and the fight scenes are without CGI. However, there is less action in the middle part and unfortunately the character of the cool feisty female lead became quite ordinary later on. The story became more exciting again in the later parts. Overall, an enjoyable series.

I'm about to watch Niu Lang Zhi Nu (牛郎织女), the new one starring Ady An and Tian Liang. The first episode is up on tudou today, but I'd rather wait until at least 5 episodes are out before starting. Cross my fingers and hope it's good.

    Smile I am watching ...

Condor Heroes 2003 and Laughing in the Wind.

I am getting the Laughing in the Wind DVD from Netflix, but for some reason they don't have disk 6. It's too bad as it was getting really interesting.

Wow, they remade Tiger Hill Trail? I loved that serial, although more for the actors rather than the plot.

"Nam Chong Hoi, Pak Tit San, Yat Ngok King Teen Juet Sai Kan!!"
(South Changhai, North Tieshan, Yiyue, Qingtian, greats of the world), referring to the four great kungfu masters of the time, Yong Changhai, Jiang Tieshan, Miao Yiyue and Li Qingtian. Was it as one-sided as Tiger Hill Trail, though? I always felt sorry for the bad guys, because 3 out of the 4 greats were good, and even the supporting villains were much weaker than the supporting heroes. Amazing the villains lasted that long, really.

I'm currently watching Book and Sword 09 with my favourite actor Adam Cheng. It's so different from the book that I might have been tempted to ditch it, but it's so nicely done I can't stop watching...

I'm currently watching Chinese Paladin 3. So cool!! But Yang Mi's Xue Jian really get on my nerves. I love Yang Mi so maybe her character is annoying.
    Good series I recommand everyone!!!

I can't remember anything about the original storyline but in the remake, when the bad guys try to harm the good guys someone will come to their rescue ... not all the time but most of the time. Read from other forums that they did change the story somewhat and more characters die in the remake.

I did enjoy the remake though I hardly know any of the actors/actresses in this series. The first few episodes are so action-packed and exciting that I can't stop watching it.

    I am now watching 少林寺传奇

The series is made up of a few short stories (I just started on the 2nd one) but the main characters, the monks & the 2 pretty female stars appear throughout the whole series. The stories so far are quite simple as the main purpose is to give an excuse for the monks to fight the baddies.

An action-packed series and the male cast are mostly guys with martial arts background. I think some of the guys are China national wushu champions. So this show has lots of fight scenes with minimal special effects. There is at least one fight scene in each episode so the show is quite exciting so far.

Personally I kinda dislike series like this and prefer a more hero harem oriented drama lol.

Shaloin monk series are always big virgin series with cheap love stories not worth watching Imo... . . . .. .anyway I am currently watching cp3 and am on like episode 18 but can not generate enough interest to continue since it is on the Chang Qing arc. I am also debating wathcing Chu Liu Xiang 2007 since it seems that I will be dead before the first 3 Chu Liu Xiang series are ever picked up.

I am currently watching Da Song Ti Xing Guan I: http://www.ehit.com/viewitem?idproduct=13764. This is rather interesting story with tons of mystery about numerous CSI cases need to be resolved. On chapter 7, overall it never made me felt bored, but kept me interested. Anyone who had seen this Chinese tv series felt free to comment about it.

I really liked this series. I kept hoping for a sequel, but when they did make one, most of the main thespians had been changed and the storyline sucked.

I'm currently watching Bei Ping Wang Shi. Chen Dao Ming has had so little screentime in here.

I agree, the first part has much more interesting storyline. It gives you more incite on what Song Ci and his friends are all about. Death has so many tales to be given a chance in life for more opporunties.

I just finished Xian Jian 3 and Mo Jian Sheng Si Qi awhile ago. I liked them both very much and they were both very good...
