Hu Jun for me. He didn't need to wear a fake beard and mustache. Also, IMHO, I thought he acted pretty well and had the size/looks for Xiao Feng.

Very close fight between Felix Wong and Hu Jun. Hu Jun only lost by 1 point now.

Not now. I voted for Felix, lol.

Hu Jun might fit the description more but I just love Felix's heroic looks.

Hu Jun may look more Xiao Feng-ish, but I hated his acting (along with all the other actings in DGSD 2004). The only acceptable acting I found in the series was the smiling GREAT WHEEL MONK Jiumozhi. Everybody else just seemed to speak their lines with their mouth, not with their heart. Good acting should mean what they say. The actors in DGSD 2003 seemed like they were just reading off a script. Bleh.

There's an important craftsmanship missing in these China series.

Maybe it's the stupid dub's fault.

Tianshan Tonglao was acted with a lot of feeling and character. Was the character this memorable in the book?

PJ, you don't watch in Mandarin? So you watch in Cantonese?

    The Mandarin is dubbed.
The voice you hear is not the actors' original voice.

I enjoyed watching her face, with those expressions of disgust, disappointment, anger, etc. with Xuzhu. Such as when Xuzhu missed with his first acorn, TSTL first turned away with an expression of "I don't believe this", before smacking him on the head for being such an incompetent.

Wait...there's something I don't get. Why would they dub it when the original cast is already Mandarin speakers? It'll just cost them another amount of money. The only explanations for this is that your version is like that OR the cast speak bad Mandarin.

There are several reasons why the company might want to dub the actor's voice, even if the language is the same. One common reason is the sound synchronization. It's easier to record/dub the voices in a soundproof studio and integrate them with the rest of the sound effects.

The actor's tone/accent is another reason. Jet Li's Mandarin voice is almost always dubbed, b/c he had a very weak voice that didn't match the heroic characters he played.
