Spring Waltz review

First two episodes already aired and I downloaded them.

Title : Spring Waltz
Synopse : Two musicians who share a childhood memory meet again as grown ups in Austria.

Some Comment :

- This story is bright toned and is not tragic unlike first three series.
- Unlike first three, the storyline is focused on the girl.
- The male lead of this series does not pack the punch of Yon-sama(Winter Sonata) and Song Seung Hun(Autumn Tale & Summer Scent)
- Whereas the male lead is rather weak and forgettable, Daniel Henney really steals the show. People suspect that Daniel is going to be the next Yon-Sama, whereas the male lead is a throw-away.
- No real tensions so far.

It is a lot different from previous three series, in the lack of tradigy and 2 women & 1 man love triangle(As opposed to 2 men and 1 woman). Given that Yon sama and Song Seung Hun were the reason the first three series took off in non-Korean markets(Winter Sonata and Summer Scent both flopped badly in Korea, and Spring Waltz seem to repeat this at this point at least in the domestic market), this lack of a strong male lead will affect the show's popularity outside of Korea negatively.

Unless Daniel Henney comes to the rescue; Daniel appears to be at least charming as Yon sama.

I like this drama so far. The songs/music are really good. I don't mind seeing new faces and they are definitely not bad looking. You kinda need to continue watching the drama so you can see the character development. I agree that it's too early to judge. Chris can't really show his charm yet because it's his character to be stiff in the beginning. I'm sure we'll get to see more of his charm as the drama progresses. I think the young actors are doing a great job at acting.

Having good actors doesn't make a drama good. For example, Summer Scent was pretty bad. I'm glad that the story will not be tragic because I am getting tired of those.

Daniel Henney can't be the main actor. He doesn't know enough Korean.

So far the drama looks promising to me. I am looking forward to watching more.

It's kind of weird that Daniel isn't the main character because Dennis gets to be the main actor right away for Sweet Spy . For me at least because Nam Sangg Mi loves him .
