Post Do Yue Fei and Yuan Chonghuan knew martial arts?

Yue Fei and Yuan Chonghuan are great generals who died while protecting the country.

Both are mentioned in JY novels in that they are great generals who risk their lives protecting the country, they know a lot about leading troops and war strategies but exactly do they know martial arts at all?

What kind of question is this? Of course they do, though not in the same class as Zhang San Feng if that is what you are getting at.

Although Yue Fei used spear in battles, some accredited him for refining the Eagle Claw styles.
I did not know what martial style Yuan used.

Yue Fei was a martial artist. But Yuan Chonghuan was originally a Confucian scholar, he was put in front of the battle lines. So, he more or less had to get a crash course in military combat.

So huge, so hopeless, to conceive

many different styles of martial arts and qigong credit yue fei as their founder, including yue family boxing. He wrote a treatise on martial art in which he lays out his combat philosophy and names many of the prevalent styles he likes. This treatise is still around

Yue Fei is also credited with inventing the Xing Yi martial arts, one of best internal arts of China, others being Taiji and Bagua.

Another legend says he obtain the Shaolin Xi Shui Jing which gave him almost superhuman ability. Bodhiadharma came up with the Yi Jin Jing and Xi Shui Jing. The latter was supposedly lost to this date although some Shaolin monks practice Xi Shui Jing but I wonder if it's the same one.

I think in one edition of LOCH, one reason why OYF wanted to get the War Manual is because he thought it might have some of Yue Fei's best martial arts and he wanted to check them out.

Not friend, but he was a lieutenant under one of Yue Fei's generals, Han Shizhong. After Yue Fei died, news leaked out that his war manual was left in that cave in the imperial garden. SGJN came to see Han Shizhong, who was then retired. Han instructed SGJN and some of his old comrades to sneak into the imperial palace and bring the manual back to Mt Iron Palm. SGJN's corpse was the one GJ and HR found holding the box containing the manual on top of the forbidden peak of Mt Iron Palm.
