Yes, watching it now! And Federer just won another set; 2-2.

I have to agree; Federer hasn't been that impressive, and Australian Open was a big disappointment , but perhaps he has his reasons.
Sometimes it's hard to love someone because you're so afraid of losing them.

Yeah, I really wanted to Zheng to win that match against Serena, and it just sucks that she lost on her double fault. She played really well, and it was really Serena's serve that kept her alive then.

I saw the whole of the Men's Final, right through to the morning. I thought it would end in straight sets after Nadal won the first 2 sets. But you gotta give Federer credit.. he put in a great effort.. to reclaim 2 sets and fight back 2 match points in the tiebreaker.

I think Federer made just too many unforced errors and didn't convert those break points in the 2nd set. He knew he had to hold serve because he just couldn't break Nadal's in the final set, but I knew it was the beginning of the end when he failed to hold, at 7-7.

When was the joker ever popular?

Does he still have the injury cloud - if so Federer should win.
Not sure how Nadal will fair against Murray.

Crap, Joker lost the 1st set too easily, too many unforced errors.

    Well, anyway, Australian Open everybody!

    What i'm looking forward to:

    - 3rd round clash between Andy Roddick and Marat Safin should they both go through. Pretty high quality pairup for 3rd round

    - Federer winning for the 3rd time. He's so awesome, absolutely love him. Pity he lost to Roddick today at Kooyong, but i got the impression that he wasn't really trying
we all know nadal will crush federer again... why do u keep making me bring this up

And incase YOU didn't know, you quoted a post about the 2007 Australian Open. You know who won the 2007 Australian Open? Roger Federer. I think it's fair to takl about Roger Federer in a grand slam that he won.

You can blame merging/splitting topics all you want, but it doesn't change the content of your post.

Murray will rise to the 4 ranking after the Open, I believe, so the semifinals was 1v4 and 2v3, just as it should be.

I'm looking forward to it. Murray is one of the few players talented enough to beat Federer even if he is playing his A game. It should be a fun matchup.

Yap...I like Murray better than both Nadal & Djokovich. I hope he will rise fast enough to kick Djokovich from #3 spot soon.

Anybody knows whether or not Roger Federer will rise to No.1 again if he wins the US Open? Or will Nadal still hold the spot?

Nadal will still be the #1 spot. Remember, the rankings only include the last 52 weeks. So Roger's US Open win from last year will come off the books.

So if he doesn't win the US Open this year, he will actually LOSE ground on Nadal, since he did better this year by reaching the US Open semifinals than he did last year at the US Open (in other words, the last 52 weeks will show a rise in his point total).

Even if he win the US Open, wouldn't he still lose ground? When does the previous years Open points get deducted? At the start of the Open or at the end?
