Li Na still has to play Venus in quarter-final.

Zheng Jie won her QF game against Kirilenko and will play Henin @ SF.

He will also his #2 ranking to Djokovic or Murray.

If Fed loses in QF to Davy and Djokovic wins Aussie Open, Djoko will be the new #1 *cross my fingers that won't happen*

    Go Fed

Top 4 will have some shake-up if Djoko or Murray wins AO and Federer loses in QF.

Agreed. Serena usually only wins AO in odd year, we'll see if she can break that habit of hers this year.

Bleh Murray still in with a chance (faces Cilic), but Djoko is out. Federer is in the semis and doesn't look likely to lose to Tsonga (but one can hope).

I missed the women's final game....good luck to Henin on next GS. She would have her best chance in RG after previously won it 4x.

Now, I only can hope Federer can win tonight.....Go Fed!

    Sorry about the late posts.

Had been pretty tired, so had been sleeping in.

I watched the two men's semifinals at Rod Laver on Thursday and Friday night.

Not being back to the Open for 5 years (the last time was a Serena Williams vs Sharapova women's semis)- i really liked the stadium and the atmosphere.

The Murrary-Cilic match was the one where we got really good seat. Right behind the backcourt, albeit at a higher level- just above the highest camera in the stadium.

Cilic reminds me of a young Sampras except he is more raw. His serve have good swerve and he have a good forehand. His backhand is raw and if he improves on this, he can and will be a force in the tour for years. He's just 21. (god, how young are all of them. Even foggies like Roger Fedex is only 28.)

Back to the first semi, Murray on the other hand have better court coverage and speed compared to Cilic.

That was why he won, and the fact that Cilic was tired from multiple 5 setters prior to this match. It was a close fought first set- lasting 51 minutes. At one time, Murray could not find the court at all with his first serve.

Well, Murray won in 4 sets after Cilic tired out. Both are not too convincing as a dominating force, but it was value for money as the match finished in 3 hours +.

As i said before, i loved the stadium's atmosphere. We sat near some croatia's supporters who kept yelling out in croatian and we have hadly any idea what he said. Andy murray's supporters were more in evident, and it was somewhat disturbing that the best kit andy murray fans are 4 guys wearing t-shirts with the letters of
    A.N.D.Y on them. Disturbing.

After that game, there was an exhibition doubles match where Henri Lacroix (?spelling), Pat Rafter, Pat Cash and Wayne Arthur were playing. Totally hillarious with lots of slapstick comedy on the court, and also awe inspiring as these old guys are still so fit.

The 2nd semi-final was the highlight though. Pretty much everyone was a Roger fan. He looked very very impressive in his game. I had always know that he was great, but seeing him live for the first time makes me realised how special he is. Tsonga didn't do too badly (in fact, i thought that if he was in the other semi-final instead- he could have had made it to the finals). Of course later on, we learned that he had abdominal strain but in the game, you can just gauge that Roger F was better all around in his massive forehand, slice backhand and his volley plays and drop-shots.

Tremendous exciting tennis (nothing like the first semi where it felt duller and slower). The post game interview was hilarious too. (If you have never seen it, let me know, i will type out some impressions of it).

I think that Roger Federer will win, albeit Murray will give him some challenge as he have a better court coverage but will not be to upstage Roger today. In addition, as alluded by Roger, the pressure on Murray to break his Slam duck must be enormous and i can't just forsee him doing it.

Will I come back again next year?

In fact, i'm thinking about coming every year since i'm living in Melbourne. Melbourne rocks!!

Han Solo, you're very lucky! I envy you

Actually I've just watched Fed's interview with Jim Courier on youtube before reading your post, Fed was very relaxed & funny. I was worried that he'll have with Tsonga, but Tsonga didn't play as good as usual and Federer was great.

Now, I'm worried about final. Murray looked pretty good against Nadal & Cilic. I hope Fed can win.

Cilic needs to beef-up little bit, he looks so skinny on tv, but he'll be a good player in the future (he's already in top 10 after Aussie Open).

BTW, did anybody watch Hit for Haiti? OMG, that was brilliantly funny. Love the Djoker hahahahaha.

    Sweet 16 for FedEx! Congrats!!!

    After AO rank :
    1. Federer
    2. Djokovic
    3. Murray
    4. Nadal

French Open could get interesting if Nadal keeps dropping down the list. He could meet Fed or other top players earlier.

I hated Murray, but after seeing him during the presentation, I felt for him.

    Go Fed!
