Default Lee Chum Foon vs. Dook Goo Kau Bai: place your bets!

Lee Chum Foon - "Little Lee's Flying Dagger is never weakly dispatched!"

Dook Goo Kau Bai - supreme swordsman, said to be undefeated in his lifetime.

Lee Chum Foon - in top condition, one dagger in hand.

Dook Goo Kau Bai - in top form, one sword in hand.

The two stand five meters apart from each other.

    Who lives? Who dies?

I vote for DGQB to win, but with LXH's dagger stuck in his stomach after he left.

hmmm, that's damn hard, cause the way gu long writes, once lxh releases his dagger, it never misses, otherwise he would'nt be lxh. If he releases his dagger, dugu's dead, otherwise it wouldnt be lxh fighting (assuming its a death match, so lxh will aim for the throat).

so the only way for dgqb to win is if lxh is not given the chance to release his dagger. This is possible; I think the consensus is that shangguan jinhong could have killed lxh, but wanted to try his dagger, thus getting killed cause he purposely gave lxh the chance to release it. sgjh is described as having reached a stage similar to dgqb's last stage in roch. So based on this logic, dugu should be the winner.

however, if he's really serious about "seeking a loss", that can be arranged easily enough; just let him release it and try to dodge

As long as Dugu follows his own theories about attacking first and not letting the other even have a chance, he'll win.

That's the $64,000 question, however. Dook Goo Kau Bai was fast, but so was Lee Chum Foon. Was he faster than Lee? What if they move at the same time?

    Brilliant thought.

Luk Siu Fung? He didn't carry a dagger around. He fought unarmed most of the time.

Well, personally, I would have pitted Demonic Swordsman Dugu Qiubai against a more worthy opponent We did see that in the Swordsman Survivor (TM).

or pit Dagger Lee against a similar foe. You know, an external weapon specialist.

Probably not. Luk Siu Fung couldn't guarantee that he could always stop Yip Goo Sing or Sai Mun Chui Sheut's swords and they were probably not as fast as Lee Chum Foon's dagger.

i'd say they end up killing each other... LXH is never meant to miss, so he'll prob hit DGQB... except with DGQB's skills, he'll probably be able to kill LXH before he collapses and dies

The flying dagger never misses not because LXH has a magic dagger, or because he has a magic throw, but rather because he never throws his dagger unless he knows it'll hit. So I say that DGKB will throw the sword aside and paste LXH with his no sword skills, as lofty martial arts theories are thrown about less commonly in JY novels than GL ones and so are more meaningful when they come up.

I doubt we have enough information to compare the internal energy between the two.

exactly. LXH's rep is kind of messed up actually.. he never misses, yet doesnt release unless he's 100% sure of a hit... so all he needs to do is not throw it at a superior opponent, and little lee's flying dagger still never misses. If shangguan jinhong can beat him, so can dgqb. and LXH can be killed by dugu without losing his reputation

I don't remember Lee Chum Foon ever being unwilling or unable to use his flying dagger because his opponent had him overmatched (with the possible exception of Seung Gwoon Gum Hung). He ran into many dangerous characters during his adventures, and all of them were dispatched by his dagger in the same manner.

And at least we've seen Lee in action and know what he's capable of; Dook Goo Kau Bai's whole career is all hearsay and speculation.

LXH would probably get chopped while trying to make his/GL's typical sword nerd talks before the real fight, not knowing that DGQB doesn't do those.

Maybe not. Dook Goo Kau Bai was the ultimate sword nerd. He might be hardcore into that kind of stuff.
