    in the Tang Dynasty right?
    While Xiao Au Jiang Wu took place in the Ming period right?

    They never really specified but it's either the Ming or maybe the Tang (most likely the late Ming). I don't think it's the Qing.

    Xia Ke Xing took place in the Ming Dynasty. Zhang Shan Feng was mentioned in the novel. So, it cannot be during the Tang Dynasty.

    Where did you get the idea that it took place in the Tang Dynasty? And yeah, the book mentioned that Zhang San Feng's already dead in the novel, and since the characters' hairstyle in the pictures doesn't resemble Qing's, it has to be in Ming.

    The poem 'Ode To Gallantry [侠客行]' was composed by Li Bai, a Tang Dynasty poet.

    Ah...I actually forgot about that part...wait, doesn't it state in the beginning of the story (immediately after the poem) that 千载之下读来,英锐之气,兀自虎虎有威?

    I'm just hypothesising why maxwell think the story is set in the Tang Dynasty.

    i am beginning to read the translation now...i saw the tvb series many many years ago

    i got the idea that it was tang dynasty because of the poem
    maxwell
