I like to think that this series went wrong because the casting of Si Si went to Angelica Lee. Alas, that IS part of the problem, but it is one of very many which includes the plot, the confusion, and the utter lapses of missing information from one episode to the next.
So, basically, I watched it for Liu Tao’s sake, even though I hate to do something like this: watch a series just because I adore one of the actors/actresses in it. But isn’t that what we ALL do? Anyway, while I thought she would have shined more if she were Si Si instead, I liked her Ah Chu character despite her dubber’s horrible voice. The dubber either sounded like she had a frog stuck in her throat or she was actually a man trying to disguise his voice as a woman’s. Terrible. She was the only thing that kept this series going for me—that and the theme song. The ending couldn’t have been more crappier for her. Yes, she ends up with the guy, but only in those last three minutes where he pops up on the pavement and they smile? Couldn’t the screen writer or producer have been more creative to Ah Chu?
