Anyone who has ever played the Silent Hill games knows how creepy this title is.
I haven't played SH 4 yet and I've only played 2 and 3. From the looks of the movie trailer, it looks like the movie is based on SH 3. I liked 2 better and I think it was 2 that had the little girl running around the ghost town. Or, maybe there was a little girl running around the ghost town in both 2 and 3 (can't remember)

The movie is coming out on Apr 21 of this year. It looks just like the game.

Hmm... not much interest in this movie. Then again, the movie hasn't come out yet. Another 2 weeks to go. Are there no Silent Hill gamers here other than arachidonic? No one into freaky horror stuff anymore? Silent Hill 2 was the only video game to scare me. Then again, I was playing this at 2 am in the morning with the lights off.

Anyway, the movie looks just like the game (from what the trailer is showing).

I really loved the game. Especially when you play it at night with the lights turned off. I hope the movie will be as scary as the game. Looking forward to it.

The trailer looks pretty good, though it doesn't seem like some trailers are an accurate portrayal of movies anymore. Let's hope this movie breaks the chain of bad video games movies *cough Uwe Bowl movies cough*

I just saw this movie tonight and it's not so much scary as gory. The storyline was average (another bashing of extreme religious zealots) and the dialogue was pretty cheesy.

Well guess this wasn't the end to bad video game movies. Seems like the art direction is very good, but the plot suffered. As some reviewers said, it is like a video game: Good visuals and weak plot.

1) Yes.

2) Rose and her daughter, Sharon, died when their car crashed in the beginning. They were stuck in purgatory.

I thought this movie was slightly above average. Not very scary. Rose looked attractive. I think the policewoman would make a decent Catwoman seeing her in leather pants. My gripes with this movie is that you can't tell who's already dead and who's still alive.

What do you think of the church scene at the end?

Why does everyone think that they died at the time of the crash?? Although your explaination of purgatory does make sense... (Purgatory is the place where nonbelievers go before they get decided to be sent to heaven/hell right?)

Ok, so they're in purgatory.. where do they end up? Why doesn't Rose get to be w. her hubby?? I feel bad for him.. Also, when evil Sharon walks to up good Sharon, what does that symbolize??
