That sucks. Isn't this breach of contract and subject to a lawsuit? Or maybe the law works differently in China.

You'd think there would be a breach of contract but LOCH was supposed to be finished last year so maybe not.

I didn't really like the Qigong in this series much anyway. The only time i saw him, in the trailer, he had this unpleasant look on his face. On the other hand, I really liked the Qigong from 2003. Dunno if he was always so cheerful in the book but I really liked the guy who portrayed him.

    New Qigong-Liang JiaRen
    Any thoughts on him?

They might have been just foolin around in this one

Why did Sun Xing back out of this production?

Anyway, Liang Jia Ren (Bryan Leung) is a veteran HK actor who seems to be in quite a few series lately. He's Huo Yuan Jia's dad in "Huo Yuan Jia" and Gigi Lai's character's dad in "The Ultimate Crime Fighter." He can be funny, but also overexaggerates with his acting at times. I can see him as a good fit for this remake. I didn't like Sun Hai Ying as Hong Qi Gong in LOCH 2003 and much prefer Lau Dan in the 1994 version.

I don't know. Nobody has mentioned much about it. Just that he left suddenly so now Bryan gets the part.
Perhaps he was losing a lot of money (is he a popular actor?) because he's had to turn down so many series just to stay with LOCH that he got fed up with it?

It seems that this series is a disaster.

Various reasons...Hu Ge's injury postponed it, Ariel had some other series to film (aka ISWK2), an actor leaving the cast...

I really really don't want them to cancel this series. It looks so good. I mean, Ariel and Hu Ge. They look so good in costume and a lot of the series has already been shot (speculating?). Why stop now???? Full steam ahead!

I think they're still filming. They just have to refilm some scenes because of the guy playing Qigong leaving but they could still get down the rest of the stuff.

I am so excited! Anthony Wong is still part of the production. Here is a picture, credited to wuxiasociety.org.
