Yes. For some reason, PF is just not as endearing as Huo Qingtong. It must have got to do with the over-exaggeration of beauty and the difference in intelligence and usefulness between the two girls.

Well, firstly, portraits can't really be trusted. Secondly, people have a very different sense of beauty back in those days. For example, people loves plumpness in those days but now, people loves slim and slender figures.

But the portrait of PF does look quite beautiful.

Yes, I would think that contributed greatly to the "stopping army" business.

There is also a scientific/logical explanation to it.

And the secret lies in the flowers that she bathes in all her life and also consumes as food.

It may be that those flowers are rare and only exists in that particular spot in the desert. They could also have special properties that when inhaled in vast quantities - they can cause intoxication, and cause one to lose control of their senses.

So having bathed and consumed these flowers all her life - coupled with her great beauty - PF is able to release pheromones that triggers an innate behavioural response in the opposite sex.

Females probably will have a response too but not to the extent of males because they do not desire women like men do.

So it is this plus the fact that the army had been living amongst men only for quite some time makes it hard form them to resist their sexual desires.

I doubt that just visual beauty alone can cause a man to lose control of his senses.
