I found a whole bunch of YouTube clips of The Last Concubine, but couldn't find any with him in them.
If you search by his name on YouTube you get dozens of LOCH clips. I think someone posted the entire series one clip at a time! lol
Ok it's been 7-8 years since the release of Xiao Ao Jiang Hu 2001 and XAJH still ranks as the best wuxia series in the 2000's. I haven't seen any wuxia series in the 2000's that has surpassed it yet in overall quality (fight scenes, cast, scenery, filmography, special effects, story, music etc.). Anybody else feel this way?
the cast is superb (great chemistry), scenery and fight scenes are amazing, and the whole series just gives off a really genuine feel. its as if you're right there with the characters! this series was the first real wuxia series i've watched and its still the best ive seen
I think part of the immediacy is because it was shot on video, not film. I showed a couple of episodes to some friends and one of them made that comment right away.
Did you notice that he didn’t get his head shaved in either series even though the character in the books did..
He was supposed to have his head shaved when he became sect leader, just like the ladies. When he impersonated Yideng was the other time.
LHC doesn't have his head shaved to be like the Heng-Shan nuns. The Mute Granny (Yilin's mother) shaves his head to make him a monk, so he can marry Yilin. She also threatens to castrate him if he doesn't agree, which you'll notice that they chose to omit from the tv series.
I've seen Li Yapeng with his hair pretty short. It probably wouldn't be that bad shaved. But then I like him.
i think i only really liked liyapeng in this series, and it probably had something to do with the long hair. so i like it that he didnt shave anything, haha
