Just yesterday I managed to pose as a freshman during freshman orientation. I was going along fine collecting free stuff until I ran across some of my past professors, who only smiled and didn't really expose me. One of the group leaders even called me back cause he thought I was going to get lost, when in reality I was sneaking back to class.

The "freshman only" lunch wasn't worth acting all ditzy and excited for college though.
i almost did the same thing. i drove my sister to freshman orientation, and the people there thought i was one of the students. -_-

one of the reasons why i think some asians look young is because most avoid the sun. a lot of western ppl seek out the sun and try to get tan. asian people see a sunny day outside, and they open up an umbrella. and, as we all know, too much sun exposure is the leading cause of wrinkles.

I would be cracking up if we're talking about the same school, though chances are slim.

True, Asian girls tend to have this obsession with having white skin, even going so far as to drinking vinegar to achieve this.

how does drinking vinegar help? O_o i read about women buying black market skin bleaches that horribly disfigured them. i don't really understand the obsession. tan skin and pale skin each have their benefits.

I'm not really sure how it works...some girls tried it out and swore on it. It bothers me how they came across the method in the first place.

Bleaches? That's just horrible. Acid and then base.........the crazy things that women do to be beautiful.

for older people perhaps, but for younger people, i don't think wrinkles are the causes in misleading age appearance

It's also not very good for you health-wise, because you're supposed to drink like....one cup straight, undiluted. The more I think about it, the more wrong it is.

It is not in the Western culture to be far-sighted. Many are encouraged to embrace the motto "live for today and enjoy to the full". Hence we see young people tanning like crazy for "attractiveness", clubbing and fooling around like there's no daylight, and rubbing makeup on their delicate skin like there's no tomorrow.

i am an chinese-asian living in a western environment but i definately look older than my real age...
so i don't think that it is neccessary true that asians look younger than their age. but i think it is to do with genes as asians don't tend to get wrinkles till their 40s whereas westerners get them much earlier.
the obession with asians having whiter skin is true in the east but chinese westeners tend to want tanned skin, thats probably due to the environment and peers.
but i think asians prefering to have fairer skin is also do to cultural reasons. in ancient times only the rich could afford to stay inside whereas the poor ahs to spend time in the fields in the sun and white is a symbolism of pureness.
having 'reflecting white skin' makes girls faces shine more and contrasting with their black hair. So they can stand out in the crowd.

As I said it before, younger looking has nothing to do with race but gene and life-style......

For some reason, people in Toronto China Town tend to have the ghetto look. Not just the asians, but almost all people in general...

You look older than your real age is because of ICE CREAM. Eating too much ice cream causes you to gain weights. Obesity leads to criticisms and mockeries, which in turn leading to sleepless nights. Sleep depravity causes all sorts of health issues, including premature aging.

I remember when I was small, in China, people always said I'm too dark (I have somewhat darker skin darker than your average Asian). then I came here, and my skin colour was sort of perfect.

I do look younger though, but that's probably because I have a good inner child that keeps me young.
    Because I'm somewhere in between,
    My love and my agony.

Non-Asians typically tell me I don't look my age. Asians seem to always be able to tell.

That's not true. My brother loooooves eating ice cream and although he's 25, his face is so young that he can definitely pass off as a high school student.

Happy people tend to look younger. So smile more people.

Come back when he turns 30. At that age, his metabolism slows down, and his size-30 waist quickly jumps to 34. You'll see his once baby face now looks like a wrinkled 40-year-old man.

Happy people who smile often feel younger internally. However, they look old because all the laughing and smiling cause wrinkles around the eyes areas.

but it's down to genes and healthy eating and some people are genetically obese and some are genetically skinny.

but it is very common for westerners to age and put on weight at that age.

and people call the happy people who get wrinkles as laugh lines.. lol

You must be speaking from your own experience, because I've seen a lot of Asian guys over 30 who still look very young for their age.

Wrinkles around the eyes will appear whether you smile or not. Frowning actually increases forehead wrinkles. I notice that people who tend to smile (genuinely) more tend to have smiling eyes, and that always makes a person look younger.
