A question about Ah Zi's eyes

I haven't really read much of the book myself (DGSD) but in the Wikipedia summary about DGSD it says Ah Zi lost her eyes and You Tanzhi actually gave his eyes to her. Did the eyes work?

yeah the eyes worked initially till she 'returned' them to him before plunging to her death with XF at the end.

1) They need to know the transplant technique. I doubt they do. Xu Zhu has to search Xiao Yao Sect medical books to get the technique.
2) They are righteous people. They won't steal other people's eyeballs for their own benefit.

The later is what's done in DGSD right? Ah Zhi's eyes can be replaced because only the surface was scratched by the poisonous chopsticks. But once YTZ loses his whole eyes during replacement, Xu Zhu can no longer replace them even if YTZ brings other people's eyes in.

You can't transplant a whole eye, but you can change most of its bits, like cornea, conjunctiva, lens, vitreous, eye muscles, etc.

Jin Yong had an opportunity to revise that in the newest edition, but left it in. That means either he respected Ni Kuang's decision or decided that he liked it after all.

Wait...so did JY actually write the part that XZ replaced Ah Zhi's eyes with YTZ's or did his buddy write it for him? I don't like the idea of the eye replacing...

Maybe because of losing his eyes, YTZ then able to achieve a higher level of kungfu. Or else he would ended up just ordinary.
