Transformer the movie 2007

This movie could well have the most compelling CG to date.

The trailer reminds me of War of the Worlds: Alien invasion seen from human's perspective. It is a very engaging way of story-telling. But the robots doesn't look very Transformerlike but more like Mechwarrior style robots. It would be wonderful if the next movie the director work on is based on Mechwarrior.

I saw one of the earlier trailers, ever since then, I refuse to watch more trailer (since I am going to watch the movie). Hopefully, Soundwave is in it.

Starscram is the F-22 Raptor.

In every Transformer incarnation, he is a jet with the cockpit as his chest.

No, Soundwave is not in it, it has been replaced by Frenzy.

Does anyone know why when ultra magnus is not wearing his armor he look same as Prime?? Expect they are different color. Is there a origin on these Twins?? Thanks

He looks the same as Prime because the original Ultra Magnus toy is a white Optimus Prime truck cab with a different trailer. He can transform without the trailer into a white Optimus Prime "twin", or combined with the trailer to form the more familiar blue Ultra Magnus.

The white Magnus is not popular until quite recently, when the Dreamwave comics depicted Ultra Magnus breaking through his armour and appeared naked as the white Prime-lookalike. From then on, Hasbro and Takara keep recolouring Optimus Prime toys as Ultra Magnus.

I'll be watching this movie for the CG and actions. It's a Michael Bay film, so I don't expect it to have good plot and characterization.

wth? they made bumblebee a camaro instead of vw beetle? and megatron not turning into a gun? that's like making superman wear his undies on the inside. if the makers can't even keep details like that in mind, I don't see how this movie is going to be much good. It's not so much the directors don't know. I mean they know enough to make Optimus a trailer afterall...

I read somewhere Volkswagen didn't want the Beetle to be associated with the movie, so they had to use an alternative.

Megatron not turning into a gun was due to the size discrepancy. They used life-sized robots so it wouldn't have the same effect to have a large robot model transform into a small-sized object.

Although I thought a cannon like Galvatron would have been more appropriate, but whatever...

I don't think it was stated explicitly in the cartoon why Magnus and Prime look so similar. There are speculations out there that Ultra Magnus was re-built from Dion, the best friend of Orion. (Orion was re-built into Optimus Prime.)
