Default Other than soldiers, whom *could* Yeung Teet Sum and Gwok Siu Teen defeat?

Yeung Teet Sum and Gwok Siu Teen weren't exactly elite martial artists in LEGEND OF THE CONDOR HEROES, but we saw that they could handle dozens of soldiers without too much trouble. Other than soldiers, however, who else were they capable of defeating? Were there any other martial artists in LOCH whom either of the sworn brothers could actually defeat in individual combat?

Qiu Qianren's twin brother. I'm pretty sure they can beat him.

I think they should be okay by Chen Jialuo's time and pretty good by Di Yun's time.

For their time, they were cannon-fodder martial artists but high level cannon-fodder martial artists since they almost took on an mini-army by themselves (well YTX did most of the fighting)

Underneath the fluffly, cudly exterior lies the tormented and complex creature known as the panda.

Was Kau Cheen Cheung that bad? I know that he was a fraud as far as imitating his mighty brother Kau Cheen Yan was concerned, but I thought that he was at least a halfway decent average martial artist.

Err.. That's Yang Kang and Guo Jing's fathers right ? I always thought they were under-rated. Do you think they can defeat The seven freaks (minus the Old Flying Bat ?).

No, they were sub-Freaks level. Even Freak # 7 could take them one on one.

Yes but the old guy from QZ seemed praised their skill, especially Yang's Family Spear. And Yang's really showed his skill to kick Jin's army butt. But think again, they're not really a fighter of Wulim.. So it's hard to see real wulim people they can hack. I don't think they can beat Qiu Qianren's brother also. I know ! I know ! They can beat those four Demon of The Yellow River. Remember them ? Those four fighters aiding Senggum in Mongol.

Well Yang Family Spear skills are great, but maybe he never really got the hang of it.

QCJ was probably impressed by the duo's loyalty for the country (not for the Song emperor though)

Qiu Qianren's twin brother would probaby beat both of them at the same time. They were probably a little bit better than the soldiers, I think the novel mentioned something about the spear being effective in warfare or mounted combat but not so good as 1v1.

YTS and GST could probably take on some members of the JN7Freaks (not the blind man though). They could probably take on Kau Cheen Yan's brother. I don't think they were really that powerful...not even close to weak...super weak?

Each of the Freaks, including Freak # 7 (Hon Siu Ying - the only woman in the group), was a better fighter than Yeung Hong. Yeung Hong was better than either Yeung Teet Sum or Gwok Siu Teen. Therefore, Yeung Teet Sum and Gwok Siu Teen are not capable of defeating any one of the Freaks in single combat.

The Freaks were actually quite good fighters; they only looked bad because invariably, their opponents were either Greats-class fighters or the students of Greats-class fighters.

Three of them were able to overpower Yeung Teet Sum at one point, but Yeung was injured at the time that he fought them. I wonder if the outcome might have been different had Yeung been in top condition.

After just 3 days of training in Xiao Yao Quan with Hong Qigong, Mu Nianci was a better martial artist than Yang Tiexing.

How about Beggar Clan members? I don't think they were that powerful at martial arts (some of them anyways ). By the way could they beat Wai Siu Bo? I'm pretty sure WSB could kick their butts with the little martial arts he knows...

How did Yeung Teet Sum/Gwok Siu Teen individually stack up against the average wulin sect no-name cannon fodder character...the ones who aren't named and that the young, still relatively weak protagonists can easily beat up by the dozen even though they have yet to attain elite-level martial arts? Are Yeung and Gwok individually superior to at least those guys?

I'd imagine they'd fare well enough against your average brigand, who have attitude but no training beyond soldiering. Yang Family Spear in particular is a star on the battlefield. The Freaks had varying levels of experience, but perhaps more importantly, they were respected enough by the mainstream that they would have had dialogue with higher level wulin to better improve their skills. Pre-Jiangnan Guo Jing, even apart from his qigong training by Ma Yu, showed respectable battle cool against the Yellow River goons.

The average wulin sect member might be much more powerful than them if we take a sect like Qingcheng sect in Xiao Ao Jianghu as average.

Granted it was two of the more powerful disciples, but they completely dominated a famous wulin escort agency and could kill without anyone seeing.

If the average disciple was even half or a third as powerful, it would seem they'd be stronger than Guo and Yang.

I was thinking more along the lines of a typical, unnamed 4th generation Cheun Jen Sect member, a typical Beggar's Union one-bag associate, a Mo Leung Sword Sect disciple, Au Yeung Hak's white-clad maids, or one of those unnamed Passionless Valley drones who carried the nets. People on that level.

The sworn brothers have battle experience and some degree of individual skill. That would put them ahead of that level of wulin members, which I'd imagine would comprise the majority of jianghu.
