Bowie Lam Throws Money at Eddie Kwan

Filming for TVB's new series "Jewels Splendor", Bowie Lam, Eddie Kwan and Kenny Wong were spotted earlier at around 9pm in Central, where they were filming an argument scene. As the three men shouted at each other, the crowds gathered to watch the commotion.

In the scene, Bowie and Kenny start off in the car, where they are yelled at by Eddie in the street. Then Bowie gets out and throws a pile of $100 notes at Eddie as they start getting aggressive. Eddie is beaten to the ground and as Bowie turns to get back into the car, Eddie picks up a wooden pole to attack him from behind. When Kenny sees this, he sacrifices himself to rescue Bowie and afterwards, Bowie helps good friend Kenny and examines his injuries.

Linda Chung Wows the Crowd in Short Skirt

Linda Chung, Bosco Wong and Wong He were filming earlier in Mongkok's Sai Yeung Choi Street for "Jewels Splendor" and as there were a lot of people in the street, they attracted a big crowd as soon as they appeared, all holding up their phones to take photographs of them. Some passers-by even put themselves in danger as they stood in the middle of the road to take photos. As a result, the filming was obstructed and it took two police officers to intervene and gain control before they could continue.

Although the three stars are quite experienced and they only needed to speak a few lines, the extra who they were working with and all the photographing by pedestrians caused a number of outtakes. Linda wore a short dress that revealed her beautiful legs and this also raised comments from the audience. The funniest incident was when the crowd became so big that they could not move people away, so the crew asked the crowd to become more extras in the scene, but instructed them not to take photos with their phones or cameras during the shoot. The public were more than happy to work as unpaid extras and have their faces on the screen!

Bowie Lam, Moses Chan Ho and former model and Miss Chinese International participant, Chan Pui Ka were filming for "Jewel's Splendor." Since appearing on "Beautiful Kitchen," this was Pui Ka's third collaboration with TVB. "Jewel's Splendor" will be her debut acting performance.

Pui Ka plays Moses' girlfriend in the series. Appearing in 4 inch Valentino high heels and a deep-V dress, she looked very compatible with Moses.

However, when a scene was filmed between Pui Ka and "attendant" Bowie, she was noticeably taller than him and the height difference appeared awkward.

Filming lasted until 3 AM and due to her coarse voice, this resulted in several NG's (out-takes) for her. Luckily her co-stars, Moses and Bowie, as well as the director did not mind.

Pui Ka is currently dating former TVB and ATV actor Pang Man Kin [who starred in TVB's 1980's version of "Legend of Book and Sword" opposite Fiona Leung and Jacqueline Law"].

Pui Ka has the support of Pang in her debut role, "He told me to relax while acting. Although he did not visit me on set, he waits for me to call him when I return home after filming."

The night before, Moses was filming near a gas station for "Jewel's Splendor." Due to the drop in temperature to 12 degrees Celcius, Moses kept warm by sipping hot drinks. The filming took most of the night and perhaps requiring immediate restroom relief, he ran quickly into the gas station's men's room.

Ada, Gigi and Maggie Play on Rumours of Disagreement

TVB's new series "Jewels Splendor" has had its fair share of gossip since it started filming, with the constant stream of suggestions that Gigi Lai, Ada Choi and Maggie Shiu are at odds with each other. Examples of reports are that Gigi is fussy and constantly reapplying her make up, holding up her co-stars, Ada being unhappy about her hairstyle and giving hassle to the crew and Maggie being unhappy about having to wait around for people being late. The three ladies and male leads Bowie Lam and Moses Chan attended the studio blessing ceremony for the series yesterday and made fun of their rumours, pushing each other about and Ada pretending to knee Maggie, whilst Gigi pinched her cheeks.

With the label of being vain, Ada said directly: "Our characters are very extravagant, so to be beautiful in our performance is a necessity. My character likes to be in the limelight, so she will always bully Gigi and answer back to Maggie - it is very unlike my own modest nature, but when we work together we are very happy and let the sparks fly." So is Gigi very fussy? Ada says protectively: "I don't think so, but because this is the first series that will be filmed using HD technology, then each of the female cast members have to make up their necks as well, this is because we take our work seriously. (Did Gigi make everyone wait?) We were waiting for each other, because we have to wear very expensive jewellery and we often have to check to make sure it has not moved out of place." She also says that she understands that there will never be any positive news nowadays, because everything reported seems to be negative, such as her being moody. Have the crew complained about her being moody? When she hears this, she just laughs: "To promote the series, then it is okay as long as they don't overstep the mark." Ada insists that the reports will not interfere with their working relationship and she has discussed this with Gigi and decided to act out their disagreements in front of the press and make it big!

Gigi wore her own accessories to the event yesterday and in response to the gossip, she smiles: "Yes, we are pretending to be good friends, but we will be fighting later. You can then photograph us in the hospital." As for being fussy, Gigi admits this, explaining that the HD filming means that the producer is looking for the cast to look flawless, so she is just carrying out her responsibility to look her best for the camera. As for the continuous stream of gossip, Gigi is used to this and says: "It happens in every series. If they wrote that Ada is beautiful and I have a great figure, the readers would get bored." When Maggie heard the suggestions that she was at odds with Gigi, she opened up her eyes wide and said: "What? That is not true! (Has Gigi been bullying you?) No. (But you don't seem to chat to each other?) The script dictates this because it is not up to the part of the story where we are very close. (Does Gigi make everyone wait for her to do her make up?) No, not at all."

Moses and Bosco Wong have been reported to have fallen for the flirtatious Fala Chen recently and when asked about this, Moses smiles: "Don't say that! I worked with Fala in the series 'Heart of Greed' and there were a lot of other cast members in that series, so we were like a family. I see her as a little sister and she sees me as a big brother, so it is not what you think." Asked if he can hold out against a little flirting, he immediately put his hands together and started reciting mantras. Asked if his attentions were only on Bernice Liu, he immediately struck a stance and claimed to be inpenetrable by rumours.

She is Ching Ho Wai, a veteran actress. She performs a lot in tvb series. If you watched CIB Files, she is one of Samantha's (Maggie Shiu) mom.

Maggie and Ada had a shooting scheduled right after the ceremony event, so they were wearing their characters' clothes. Gigi did not have schedule that day, thus she wore her private clothes.

The lady in green fishnet top is Maria Chan. I dunno the girl next to her.

During the filming of TVB's new series, "Jewel's Splendor" has resulted in numerous rumors such as leading actresses, Gigi Lai, Ada Choi, and Maggie Shiu not getting along. It appears that the male leads Bowie Lam and Eddie Kwan Lai Kit have been neglected in press coverage. However, Eddie finally stole the limelight in a recent scene for "Jewel's Splendor."

Gigi and Eddie were filming a scene at Kowloon City Park, where Gigi's character was fired by her boss. Gigi expressed her disappointment, while Eddie flew into a fit of rage.

During rehearsal, Eddie was deeply immersely in his character and wore an angry expression. As he shouted out his lines, the surrounding residents thought that there was a real argument between lovers at the park.

However the passerbys quickly realized that Gigi and Eddie were filming for "Jewel's Splendor." Since filming took place at 10 PM, no one filed noise complaints. One spectator called out Eddie's character's name, Eric, as a friendly joke. At this point, Gigi and Eddie finally lowered their voices, realizing the noise may be disturbing to nearby residents. Filming finally wrapped up at 12 midnight.

Gigi wore an elegant and trendy outfit for the scene. Although she had to act disappointed in getting fired, Eddie's violent temper was far greater.
During the filming, Eddie repeatedly shouted out, "He fired you?! I won't let anyone fire my girlfriend!"

No Faking as Linda Slaps Ada in the Streets

Working with her idol Ada Choi for the first time, Linda Chung was a little hesitant in a scene where they had to slap each other, holding back her strength, but Ada helped her out, telling her not to worry about positioning or her strength.

Ada, Linda, Wong He and Bosco Wong were filming for new series "Jewels Spendor" yesterday in a scene where they had to slap each other in the streets. Linda had to slap Ada on the cheeks hard until Ah He comes to her rescue and returns the slap to Linda in a very heated scene. However, when Linda was slapping Ada, she kept holding back her strength and in the end even Ada complained about her not having enough power.

Ada says: "She was looking after me and was not really strong enough, but that just causes more problems because we had to NG twice. I told her to put some power into it as the most important thing is that it looks good, without the use of camera angles and it doesn't hurt too much." She also praises Linda and Bosco after working with them for the first time, saying that they put their hearts into their acting, have full artiste professionalism and potential.

Linda admits she is not very good at hitting people: "Hitting people is not easy, I am worried about hitting their ears. Also I really like Ada, because she is so real and down to earth, but I daren't tell her. I never imagined that the first time I worked with her I would have to hit her and she even told me to hit her harder. I hope that I can find success like hers in the future."

Aww! I'm so glad Ada said that. I really hope Linda can learn from Ada. The 9 months she will spend with Ada, Gigi, Maggie, Rebecca Chan, and Lee See Kei [assuming she has at least one scene with them all] will hopefully allow her to polish her acting even more.

Hehe. Linda is really too girly/reserved/thoughtful/considerate. But that's why I like her. Really hope this new role can help her further break out of her shell and improve more.

Oh my god! Linda needs to stop dressing like a cheap hooker for this series. I've seen what party girls wear and it is not what Linda is wearing at all. Linda's look it so tacky and cheap.

Crying Scenes for the 3 Sisters

TVB's 80 episode series, "Jewel's Splendor" is in the midst of filming and last week, Gigi Lai, Ada Choi, and Maggie Shiu were shooting a scene at a park in Kowloon City. Since Gigi had to cry dejectedly for the scene, she sat by herself in the car to build her emotions before filming.

On the other hand, Maggie and Ada chatted happily with each other before the scene. They helped each other out of the car and upon spotting reporters, Ada flashed a victory sign.

The scene spoke of Gigi sitting dejectedly by herself in the park. When Ada and Maggie spotted Gigi, they hugged her and the 3 women cried together.

Since "Jewel's Splendor" was one of TVB's grand productions for 2007, producer Jonathan Chik Kei Yei carefully explained each scene to all the actors and allowed rehearsal time before rolling the cameras.

After rehearsing the scene several times, the crew waited quietly while Gigi prepared herself. As she was about to cry, they started filming. As Ada and Maggie joined the scene, Gigi started sobbing loudly, attracting the attention of bystanders.
