Edison Chen for Fashion Industry

Edison is the spokesperson for Levi’s new range of jeans. Yesterday, Edison appeared at an advertisement campaign for the Levi jeans. This new range will be available at shops next year in February; hopefully Edison will be able to receive some bonuses for the good sales.

Edison last year opened a fashion clothing shop, Juice, with friends; this may be hinting that Edison wants to go into the fashion industry. Edison has already started to design t-shirts and pants. Planning has also started for Edison’s clothing brand to hit Chinese markets. As for the well known ‘Clot Cru’ (ft. DJ Tommy, Hanjin Chen, Kitchen Boy, MC Yan), Edison working partners, are planning to work on a mini concert, MVs and a movie. When asked why Edison did not use his English name for the brand name, Edison said, “I want to kind of separate my identity from my brand. If was to use my name for the brand name, I would not be able to be the spokesperson for other clothing brands.”

The clothes that Edison is designing are surprisingly not targeted for teenagers but for people of the ages between 25 and 33. As for the amount of stock Edison will be putting in his shop, is only about 200 pieces of clothing. From the 200 pieces of clothing a certain amount will given to friends and the rest is for public sale.

Edison was asked who in the entertainment circle will the clothing in his shop suit, Edison immediately said the names that he has been rumoured to have a bad relationship with. The two names he named first were Shawn Yue and Jay Chow. Edison says, “My shop sells clothing from other countries, making this a great fit for Shawn. As for the clothes I design, it has a Chinese influence making it a great match for Jay. But as I was designing the clothes, I was not thinking about anyone in particular.” Edison stated that he will not be designing clothes for females because he was unsure what kind of material is in fashion for females. As Edison grew up in Canada, reporters asked why his self designed clothing has a Chinese flair. Edison replied, “I have seen some 50s to 90s clothing with a Chinese design and I want people to take an approach to understanding Chinese culture.”
