Those are from HK ATV's clips thus copyright goes to ATV.

Not only you, Amy Chan herself see Steve Ma as a very good match to her regarding love & affection. That's what she answered in LIAM press conference at sina in December last year.

I think Amy is cute in shorthairs, she looked a lot younger than her age. that curly hair looked her a bit older but she and steve were so cute in there. Btw can you tell me the conversations bet steve & amy on the night at steve's friend's hotel in TGOD. I know the part where steve told her that he has registered at army already to fight for war. Then Amy suddendly said something like "saying is easy, doing is hard." then she continued "I want to give birth a son with you". Steve was quite hesitate at first. Then he said to her quite a lot. I don't understand what he said or what amy replied but I understand steve's last question "If I'm unable to come back?" and amy's answer "if you like, I'll wait for you". If you can't recall that scene, not a problem.

Amy's hairs were growing at that time.

I remember the scene very well...why??... becoz it was one of my favorite episodes in TGOD. I've actually recorded this particular episode and have watched it like 20 times already.

On the night they spent the first time together in Steve's friend hotel, Steve was started to feel fortunate that he married a very good wife who is loyal, kind and understanding person after their conversation on his intention to go to war. He told Amy if they did not spend this night together, he won't know the real person of her. At this time, he still had a girlfriend (Sheren Tang) in the city but becoz of his Mother's death, he had to go back to his home town right away. If it is not for Amy trying to "commit suicide" in the wine cellar, Steve would not know Amy better.

Anyway, back to the night in the hotel room, at first Amy asked Steve "what are you thinking? Is there something bothering you?" Then Steve asked Amy "What do you usually do when you feel depressed?" Amy said" I will count the stars" Steve chuckled. Actually Steve was like testing Amy how she feel after he told her that he signed-up with the military and go to war to defend his country. He told Amy that he wanted to protect his country and feel patriotic for his country. Amy was a bit shock at first but she take it calmly. He was expecting Amy's reaction to be like Sheren (she got hysterical when Steve told her he is going to war). But Amy understand what Steve wanted to do for his country. She said to him "If you think it is a good choice, he should go to war. No matter how long is he away in the war, she will wait for him to come back" Then Steve said "What if I don't come back and got killed in the war"? Amy replied "I will still wait for you". That is when Steve felt touched by Amy's words and her support and encouragement for him to go fight for his country. Then she said "Before you leave, I want to have a son with you". That's when it was the very first time they "toong-fong" and their relationship slowly developed and the next day they took pictures together so that they can keep the photos when Steve is at war. They both have something to look at.

ejc999: Did you watch Fated Love? I can't imagine Ha Yu felt in love with Amy when Steve was chasing her every day until she fell in love with him. I love this series very much. I bought the vcd and had watched it 2 time already.

Thanks for the recap! Although I haven't watched it yet, it seems like a great episode. I'm sure when I actually get a chance to see it, I'll be recording it and watching it several times too. hehe.. can't get enough of Amy and Steve's sweet and romantic moments! =)

The only thing about The Good Old Days series is it gets too draggy and makes this series had more than 100 episodes. There are a lot of unnecessary scenes in this series and there are parts that makes it boring. I only like to watch Amy & Steve only, so when it was showing on TV, I only recorded the episodes that had a lot of Steve & Amy together. I don't like Sheren & Maggie Siu's character in TGOD.

Thank you babcas. Steve & Sheren Tang's characters have opposite personalities & that's why they used to end up with arguments from time to time. Yeah, I saw her character's hysterical reaction when they dined together with his friend & wife. I reckon his patriotic feelings grew ever since he involved with students’ anti-government movement throughout his student life at university/collage. He, Sheren’s other character [his colleague’s sister] & other students participated in student demonstration at that time. She was shot to death and he was arrested. His father spent lump sum of money to bail him out from jail. This was a main reason he always felt guilty of being useless/irresponsible for his family, departed mate [other Sheren] & the country. It seemed this guilty feeling followed him like a shadow until he decided to join army. Correct me if I’m wrong.

"What if" Amy didn't say that she wanted a son? Would he leave her being untouched b/c of a big mistake he made in the past that cannot be reversed back at all? Yes, they took the photo I posted & visited Amy's family. When he confessed his affair with Sheren's character, I don't understand some dialogues bet steve & amy. He said "you are my wife so I must have to confess. When I was in Guangdong, I wrongly lived together with a young lady. That's why I was hesitiate to marry you. We have been passed through so many problems. I don't know why I have no pressure at all while I'm with you. I can speak out all the words in my heart. You must believe me, I really love you". When she asked him what would he do with Sheren what did he reply? Excuse my direct translation anyway!!

Of course I did. My all time favourite! Who's Ha Yu? Amy's nextdoor neighbour? He was so jealous of Steve. He always tried to keep Amy from Steve's eyesight!!
1st time: In front of the City Hall after Amy won Miss Peagent Contest. When Steve tried say hello to her, he didn't give steve a chance.
2nd time: Steve tried to introduce himself with Amy.
3rd time: Office wall collaspe. He reminded her not to trust Steve.
4th time: Steve's company took over Amy's company. When all staff were introduced he stepped forward to keep away Amy from Steves' eyesight.
5th time: At dinner hosted by steve's freind.
6th time: When Amy cried on Steve's shoulder as she missed her father so much.
7th time: When steve planned to go to Nan King/Jing with Amy. He was soooo jealous!!!

They were granted a lot of couple emotional/romantic scenes in this series. It was amazing that they convinced the audiances dispite the fact they didn't get along well. I really admire them b/c they didn't breach the contract plus didn't bring their personal matters on the scene. I rewatched it uncountable time b/c it hepled me to understand about the story more & more.

It was so cute when steve came her room on the night before their wedding day. Did he come to give her ear rings for their wedding day? He made me smile when he asked her "can can have a kiss? just one only". She was so embarress but she tiptoed & kissed him before he went home. How sweet!!!

Btw can you translate Amy's song Eternity for me? If not, never mind. I'm creating steve & his costars wallpapers just for fun & thougt to put it on their couple wedding wallpaper.

Yes, Monica Chan is Miss HK 1989 the winner. After she won the pageant, she was acting for TVB until the mid-90s, she left TVB and joined ATV. She also acted in some movies. Looks like she is back acting again this time with Steve!!! I like her acting when she was with TVB. Can't wait for this series to release. Must be a Taiwanese series huh?

Thanks for posting all the great pictures of Steve. I don't quite like him with long hair except for his body. He looks better with short hair.

I don't think Steve will feel untouched if Amy say she didn't say she wanted a son wth him coz Steve told Amy that she don't have to do all this for him especially when it was only an arrange marriage for both of them. He told Amy that he can give Amy & her family some money and leave the village but Amy didn't want to. She said "once I'm married, I will stay with the man she married for the rest of her life". I think this is the part when Steve felt touched.

On the part when Steve told Amy that he actually was living with a girl in the city, Amy asked him "what are you going to do with her now?" Steve replied "I still have a responsibility of Sheren's well-being" He felt sorry for Sheren too coz he is a good-hearted man. That is why later of the series, when Sheren was pregnant, Amy had no choice but to let her marry into the family as Steve's second wife.

During the few days of Steve & Amy spent together, Steve slowly found out that he felt comfortable telling Amy anything and no secrets to hide from her coz Amy is an understanding person. This is when Steve realized he had fallen in love with Amy. I love the scenes of them together when Steve went to Amy's village.

Same here...I love Fated Love a lot too. I bought the VCD from YesAsia so that I can watch it whenever I want.

Yes, Ha Yu is Amy's neighbor who cared for her a lot and also secretly in love with her. He is a comedian and now back with TVB. He keeps telling Amy that Steve is just another "playboy" and not to trust him. But Steve sees Amy as a very special girl compare to his other girlfriends. I hated Carrie Ng (his fiancee) who is also Amy's best friend at first. She is so evil that she will do anything to win Steve's heart. The title in this series suited the character of Steve & Amy "Fated Love" becoz they are fated for each other and no one can break them apart. It is a very meaningful story.

Sorry, my chinese is very limited so I can't do any translation for you.

I didn’t know her. Someone told me that she is Miss HK Monica Chan Fat Yung. She looks not bad together w/ steve ma though, storyline is a kinda sad. Steve’s character has a little sister. They have the same family name/surname but I don’t think she is his biological sister b/c she is the one he loves. She would commit suicide. I’ve seen a press conference clip of this show. Monica said he portrayed as her husband but the one he loves isn’t her. Her character would be lovely & a bit pitiful in his eyes. She would be very happy when they have a child. Steve said his character is quiet guy. He never asks any suggestions or helps. He doesn’t bother to do so. He keeps his feelings in his heart but he would be good to his wife a lot. They talked a lot about their characters but I can’t understand more. Anyway I can understand what Monica said about steve ma. She said this was the 1st time she’s seen him.... he is a big handsome guy & also tall...hahaha.....

No problem. I like him if he ties his long hairs in ponytail. He looked cool & smart in Family aka Revenge in that hairdo.

Oh....is he? He was very chatty in Fated Love.....always talked about Chinese proverbs. I enjoyed he & his sister’s scenes where they chatted about steve & amy but quite bored with the long conversations bet he & steve’s friend’s big sis. Did he portray as the pig in Journey To the West? I saw a wall poster. The pig resembled him.

Hehee. I thought she was very good at her role. Must be her best performance ever. I saw her in Best of the Best. I don’t know the leads though I know her & steve’s dad from TGOD. She was given an insignificant role in there so her performance was just average. She was in Twin Heroes 88 version too. I have this series for ages but didn’t notice that she was there.

Yeah, she deliberately cheated him & trapped him with an affair that he didn’t commit.

I do agree with you. The fortune-teller already told Carrie Ng that they are bonded with 4 characters. That is the title of this series.
