H7G found a way of defeating the skill of Nimble Snake Fist when he observed a weaker opponent in OYK. Later on, H7G faced off with a far superior opponent in OYF on the boat. They were pretty much neck and neck during the initial phases of the battle, until OYF decided to use a skill he thought could beat H7G and other Greats in critical moments come Huashan - the Nimble Snake Fist. Guess what happened? OYF was completely outgunned throughout.

I don't even want to mention his Hamo Gong. For a genius like him in failing to spot flaws in XL18Z tells you a lot about this palm technique.

I don't know if go lends itself to such reversals but that was a strange game anyhow.
Weiqi unfortunately is quite different from Western Chess. Xu Zhu's play probably is less of a "knock out tactical blow" but more of a paradoxical play that is dumb 99.999% of the time but just not in that position.

Kind of like moving your king out to the center to avoid an attack, when typically the king is most exposed in the center..., though this is not a very good analogy.

In comparison most short term tactical blows are pretty obvious if you are familar with the patterns and themes, and pretty easy to see. like the greek gift, where you temporary 'sac' your bishop on h7...
A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. You think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a ****ing cross? It's like going up to Jackie Onassis wearing a rifle pendant.

LHC's mastery of his DK9J was not below the mastery of ZWJ's taiji sword, possibly superior since their both of comparable intelligence and LHC practises solely swordplay aside from essence absorbing skill. taiji quan is meant to be defensive overcoming offence and DG9J is offence over coming stances. CX did not nessesarily lose when LHC broke his taiji sword, but it highlighted an importent point of no stance overcomes stance, ultimately it's who's attack is stronger and how to overcome it. taiji jianfa is at it's strongest when countering attacks, while DG9J is strongest attacking. ZWJ therefore would have to be on the defensive or he will reveal a weakness, while LHC would have time to guage ZWJ's style and find a weakness. ZWJ probably has better inner strenght but LHC has reached a high level as well, and with essence absorbing skill, may not be beaten by inner power. if they fought with swords, LHC has the advantage and without, it's ZWJ.

YG has mastered full wood sword stage. but wood sword stage is not the highest of DGKB skills. he's already entered into the next stage, no sword overcomes swords/ use nature as swords.

HQG couldn't think of a response for Nimble Snake Fist when guo jing fought OYK and admitted defeat, but he had time to come up with a response later. it was similar to the last duel he had with OYF when OYF thought up new moves to overcome dog beating stick. OYF spent a lot of effort to create the Nimble Snake Fist and HQG probably had to spend a lot of time to think up a counter. all the greats had spent great effort to improve their skills and create new moves. if HQG did not see the Nimble Snake Fist before hand, he might have suffered a defeat.

Not really for the Taji sword and DG9J stuff. You got some right, but I think some might be a bit wrong. I actually agree with Lav when it comes to sword philosophy. Taji as we know is just one stance used infinitely. DG9J on the other hand IMO is as Laviathian says, a tool that helps one gets to formlessness. As said by FQY, when you get to a certain point, you forget all the stances and just use one stance to counter everything. And that point described by FQY is kind of like what ZWJ was able to do, use one stance and use it infintiely. So in terms of sword level, ZWJ should be higher.

How about almost everyone? Here are some facts:
-Yang Dingtian defeated the Du monks.
-YDT roamed the world as a top tier pugilist.
-QKDNY is similar to Northern Shifting Star and Murong Long Cheng roamed the world undefeated, his descendants Murong Bo and Murong Fu were amongst the top as well (MRF not so much, but he was still the top of the bottom-tier elites).
-Yang Xiao learnt level 2 and was able to hold off Bat King and 5 san ren. Bat King and 5 san ren were marginally weaker than the headmasters like Mie Jue.
-Yang Xiao raped a Emei disciple and Mie Jue, despite her fiery temper, could not seek revenge on him.
-The 5 sects had to gang up on Ming cult.
-Even then, they had to wait for it to weakened-no Eagle King, waited for YDT to die.
-Fan Yao was able to infiltrate the Mongol army all alone.
