    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A long time ago in the Tang dynasty, there were three very good friends who lived in Gong Wu together. They were Mok Yong, Ding Mo, and Zhou Le. They were all the students of a great martial arts master who tried to compile the forces of nature in martial arts.

Mok Yong was the youngest brother of the three. He grew up as an orphan who wandered around the lands. One day, he was getting chased by a tiger, and luckily his teacher arrived then and saved him, then later accepted him as a student and taught him martial arts. He was also the one with the least understanding of the martial arts. Even though, he held a kind heart and was the favorite student of his teacher. His teacher just believed that it wasn't time for his full understanding of the arts to emerge yet.

Ding Mo was the oldest brother of the three. He grew up in a fairly good family with riches and money. He was unhappy with his life though because his parents arranged everything for him, even his future wife. This, he was unhappy with and made a compromise with his parents. He said that if he's able to make his current master accept him as a student, they will have to pull the plans of the marriage back, because a man who does not have sufficient skills of martial arts can not protect his wife. Being surprised by his son's strong decision, his parents allowed and he was able to become the student of his current master. He was also the best student of the three, because of his will to not return home.

Zhou Le was the middle brother of the three. His parents died when he was a young age, so he grew up in a temple with monks. One day, that temple was burnt to the ground after some thieves robbed them, and he soon met up with his teacher, who accepted him as a student and supplied him a roof over his head.

About 13 years later, their teacher died of an odd disease, these three faithful students of his left their master's house and explored the world and they promised each other to come back to the house of their master in 5 years to see each other.

During these five years, Ding Mo had went back home and had to marry this women whom his parents had arranged for him. He was not so happy about this, but with her, he had bared two little boys. Zhou Le had become a Buddhist monk in these last 5 years, and believed that he had found the meaning of life (due to the fact that he grew up in a monk temple when he was young). Mok Yong was not born from a rich family; he is just a normal wanderer. Luckily, while he was wandering one day he has found a young lady whom he fell in love with, Ching Ching. After these 5 years, these three gentlemen have traveled back to the house of their master to reunite with each other. Mok Yong had brought along this fiancé to this occasion. Ding Mo was the first one to arrive, and one he saw Mok Yong and Ching Ching, he immediately fell in love with her. After a long reunion, Ding Mo has told his two best friends to stay at the house of their master for a few days before they leave, since they have not seen each other for such a long time. Mok Yong and Zhou Le stayed.

During these few days Ding Mo has kept his eyes on Ching Ching, for he has really fallen in love with her. Even so, she did not notice him because all that she had in her eyes was Mok Yong. One day, Ding Mo went up to her and confronted to her that he loved her. Frighten by his words, she ran away from him and went to tell Mok Yong. Once Mok Yong heard these words, he became very mad yelled went to yell at Ding Mo. After a while of yelling, they broke into a fight, and since Ding Mo was the one who was better at martial arts during that moment, he was able to beat Mok Yong. Then he ran away, grabbing Ching Ching by his side. While he ran away, Mok Yong screamed her name until he couldn't anymore, and so did Ching Ching. Hearing his love scream Mok Yong's name made Ding Mo's heart hurt so much. Witnessing this horrible site, Zhou Le went up to comfort Mok Yong and while watching Ding Mo fly away. Their friendships have been broken from this day on.

Mok Yong had cried for 3 days and 3 nights strait with Zhou Le cooking and feeding him. During these three days, the sky had continuously rained like crazy; maybe heaven is feeling sorry for this young fellow who had this love stolen away from him. Witnessing his best friend crying over something like love made him wonder about the power of love. That was when he went up to his friend and talked to him and wakes him up from his dream.

"Mok Yong! You have been crying for 3 days and nights already! Are you done crying yet? Is crying going to get you Ching Ching back? Why don't you do something for efficient so that you CAN get her back. I know that I’m a monk now, but that doesn't mean that I know nothing about love. I've been a regular person like you before too, and what I think is that if you want something back, you'll have to do something to get it!" said Zhou Le. Then there was a dead silence. Zhou Le couldn't stand it anymore and went up to Mok Yong and slapped him across the face hard.

    "That hurts!" said Mok Yong.

"So you are finally talking? What happened to you? You are acting like a dead fish because of a girl. If you do care about her, at least show it! Practice your martial arts skill and then you'll be able to beat Ding Mo!" said Zhou Le.

"You're right. I can not be like this anymore. Ching Ching is waiting for me to save her right now, I have to be strong," said Mok Yong.

After he that, he stood up and was determined to fain Ching Ching back. He has martial arts skills day and night, whiling having Ching Ching on his head the whole time. Maybe it's the heaven that believed in him and lend him the forces of nature. Soon enough, in about two months, he was able to use the forces of nature in his martial arts, just as his master had wished to accomplish when he was still alive. By thinking about the power of the trees and lifting his right hand into the air and then doing a 360 spin in the air, he was able to grasp the power of the trees in his bare hands. He then shoots his right palm forward are the object he plans to attack and by doing that, a twirl of leaves moved by the motion of his hand and towards the object that his hand shot at, which was a big tree with a diameter of 1 meter. Then BOOM! The tree was cut into two even and smooth parts by those leaves which he had controlled. The leaves had gain power as if it was a sharp and accurate blade. This was the beginning of the making of the Ching Sum Kuet, the martial arts that deals with nature that the world will be fighting for until their deaths in one generation from now. If that is going to happen, is the creation of this a good thing or bad thing? I guess that this Ching Sum Kuet will be like the nature that it controls, with a good side and bad side, like fire that can warm many people’s souls from the cold and cause a big destruction and burn many lives; or like water that can cure many thirsty people and animal, and flood a good town into nothing at all. It just depends on whose hands this martial arts gets into the hands of.

Realizing that he can control nature now, Mok Yong decided to go find Ding Mo and get revenge so he can save Ching Ching. Just before he stepped out of the door to get revenge, Zhou Le stopped him.

"Mok Yong, if you're martial arts gets better, won't you think that Ding Mo martial arts will get better too?" said Zhou Le.

After Mok Yong heard this, his heart almost cracked. He fell to his knees and looked at the ground with disappointment.

"What do you want me to do now? Do you mean that I'll never be able to beat him?" said Mok Yong. Then a single tear dropped down his eye.

"Not quite, there still might be a chance. I know that the sky will not be this heartless, and is not blind. However talented a martial artist is, he will always be accompanied with his weapons, from a legend that si fu (master) had told me before, between those mountains behind this hill lives an old man who is an expert in metallurgy. Maybe if you go there, he will be willing to make you a special weapon for you to use. That might be the last and only way to save Ching Ching," said Zhou Le.

After hearing this, Mok Yong quickly went to the mountains behind the hill. He had a strange feeling when he entered. He had never known that there was such a place like this before. It all seems so odd and weird. The place is full of thick trees and fog. If you are a normal person, you will never be able to surpass this area without help from a martial artist. No wonder he has never traveled here before! After about a 4 hours walk, he finally surpassed the trees and fog, and there he sees a house made of bamboo that floated upon water. 'How did it manage to not sink or float away?' thought Mok Yong.

He then swam towards that house, but that was before he realized that there were piranhas in the water! He swam all his life to escape and suddenly, a dark figure grabbed his back and pulled him out of the waters and onto the house floating in the waters. Mok Yong was terrified; he was panting and breathing heavily.

"You don't need to be that scared do you?" said the man who rescued him. Mok Yong looked up to see who it was that saved him. He realized that it was an old man, dressed in black, with a long white beard. Could it be he who Zhou Le talked about? thought Mok Yong.

"Thank you for rescuing me," said Mok Yong after he regained his breathe.

"No need! Now, what are you doing here? This is no place for you to practice swimming young man! Who are you? How did you find this place?" said the old man.

"I wasn't swimming, I came to look for the old man who is an expert at metallurgy as legend said, my Si Hing told me that he lives here," said Mok Yong.

The old man laughed. "Legend? I never knew that I was a legend!"

Mok Yong stood up after he heard this. "You are the old man? I, Mok Yong, greet you!" said Mok Yong as he bowed on his legs.

"What are you doing? Why are you bowing to me? I'm not dead you know! No need to bow!" said the old man.

"Can I ask what you name is master?" said Mok Yong.

"Kwan Song Hoi," said the old man.

"Kwan Song Hoi?! You are my master's Si Dai?!" said Mok Yong in amazement.

Once again, the old man, Kwan Song Hoi laughed with pleasure. "So you are the student of my Si Hing? Mok Yong, that's your name right?" said Kwan Song Hoi.

    "Yes," said Mok Yong.

"I see. I can't believe that my Si Hing tells people that I’m a legend!" said Kwan Song Hoi. He then burst into laughter.

"Master Kwan, if you don't mind me asking, why are you living here when you could have been living with my Si Fu and spreading your knowledge of nature with him so you guys can invent the martial arts around the forces of nature that he had always desire to invent?" said Mok Yong.

As Kwan Song Hoi heard that, memories of the times before raced across his head. It was when he and his Si Hing were fighting over their Si Mui who later suicide by jumping off a cliff because she feels that she is suffering too much between these two man, causing him and his Si Hing’s friendship and brotherhood to break into two and with him living between these mountains all these years. "It's a long story," said Kwan Song Hoi. "Why do you care so much? Stop being so nosy!" After he said that, he went into his house.

'What a strange old man¡' thought Mok Yong. After that, he realized that he's stuck on this floating platform and that he couldn't get back to land unless he swam. So he went into Kwan Song Hoi's house.

    "Master Kwan---" started Mok Yong.

"You didn't leave yet? Why are you staying here?" said Kwan Song Hoi before Mok Yong finished speaking.

"I came to ask you a favor," said Mok Yong.

"Favor? What favor?" said Kwan Song Hoi.

At this moment, Mok Yong went down to his knees. "Master Kwan, ever since my Si Fu had died five years ago, my two Si Hings, Ding Mo and Zhou Le, and I have gone onto different paths of our lives and reunited at our Si Fu’s place just last month. During these 5 years, I have met the girl of my life, and had brought her to show my two Si Hings, but Ding Mo had fallen in love with her too and had stolen her away from me. He brought her to another place on this world, I don't know where and how to find her. My other Si Hing, Zhou Le, told me that in order for me to find her I will need to have good martial art skills so I can win her back when I see Ding Mo. That's what I did, I listened to him and my martial arts did improve, but Zhou Le said that it was not enough and that if I practice my martial arts, so will he. No matter how good a man is at martial arts, he will always need his weapons by his side to help him. He then told me the legend of you, which my Si Fu told him, and that is why I came to see you. He told me that you are a master at metallurgy, and maybe you can help me retrieve my love one home," said Mok Yong.

Listening to what Mok Yong said, Kwan Song Hoi was very touched, since his story was very much alike to him. A drop of tear dropped down his eye, but Mok Yong did not see it.

"Master Kwan! Please help me! I'll do anything!" said Mok Yong. There was then a dead silence...

CHAPTER 2: Gathering of Weapons [intro]

    Characters:
    Kwan Song Hoi
    Mok Yong

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Master Kwan! Please help me! I'll do anything!" said Mok Yong. There was a dead silence for a while.

"You said that your martial arts improved. I know that my Si Hing was studying the forces of nature like I did, I assume that your martial arts is based on that too?" said Kwan Song Hoi.

    "Yes," said Mok Yong.

"Show me what you got," said Kwan Song Hoi.

After hearing this, Mok Yong got up. He lifted his right hand into the air slowly and formed the yin and yang sign with the movements of his hands. Then he kicked his legs into the air, forming a 360 spin and then swiping his right hand across the horizon of the waters. Just then a great force of water jumped out of the lake and followed the motion of Mok Yong's hand as he moved them, all perfectly under his control. He formed it into the shape of a dragon and madeit collapse back into the water as if nothing had happened. Seeing this miraculous site, Kwan Song Hoi's eyes dropped.

‘I can't believe Si Hing has such a talented student.’ he thought. Just then, Mok Yong finished his act.

"Master Kwan," said Mok Yong with his hands clasped together as a sign of completion in his act.

Kwan Song Hoi did not answer him. He turned around and walked back into his house.

"Master Kwan!" yelled Mok Yong. He went into the house with Kwan Song Hoi where he saw him pouring himself a cup of tea. Mok Yong went down onto his knees. "Master Kwan! Please! I beg you! I really need your help! I really will do anything, being a cow or dog!" Just then, a single tear dropped down his cheek. "She’s the only one I have in the world right now, I really miss her. I don’t even know where she is right now, or how she is doing. Each and every moment she’s not with me, my heart seems to break more and more."

Kwan Song Hoi, whose back was turned from Mok Yong, had a single tear drop down his eye too. He was thinking about the one whom he loved that has suicide off a cliff. Suddenly, he placed his cup of tea on the table with a hard hit. Then he turned around.

"What did you say you want me to help you with?" said Kwan Song Hoi with a smile on his face.

Mok Yong looked up with amazement and then stood up. "Thank you Master Kwan! Thank you!"

For 4 months, Mok Yong stayed at this place with Kwan Song Hoi, who became his 2nd Si Fu. During these three months, Kwan Song Hoi taught him what he has discovered about the power of nature. The things he taught Mok Yong were more powerful than ever. He would have never thought that the martial arts that he has been inventing would show so much power when worked in the hands of Mok Yong. Even so, Mok Yong does not seem to be very satisfied with his performance.

"Ah Yong, you seem unsatisfied, why? You martial arts have really improved throughout this time already. Is my martial arts not great enough for you?" said Kwan Song Hoi.

"That's not it Si Fu, I just feel like something is missing, it just doesn’t feel like it's complete," said Mok Yong.

Kwan Song Hoi gave a big laugh out. "Ah Yong, it's because you are fighting with your bare hands isn't it? Remember what your Si Hing said, 'No matter how skilled a martial artist is, he is not complete without his weapons by his side to guide him.' Remember your reason when you came here? It was for me to make you some weapons so you can get your love one back. Now, I will bring you those weapons you had wanted, but it will be you who make them," said Kwan Song Hoi.

"Me? How can that be? I don’t have the years of experience like you do and..." started Mok Yong. Kwan Song Hoi cut his speech off by putting his finger up.

"Follow me," said Kwan Song Hoi. Just then, they walked off to the edge of the floating house that they have been on. "Looking at where the sun is right now, below it is a cave where rare metals and other things used for metallurgy is located. That is where I get my metals to make my metallurgy."

"Then why can't you get some from there and make it for me? I don't know how to make weapons," said Mok Yong.

"Now, Ah Yong, weapons have feelings and a life too. It will obey the ones who brought it to life the best. If I made you the weapons, then you'll not be able to apply their full power. If you make it yourself, you'll be able to command it in the way you want, since they belong to you," said Kwan Song Hoi.

"Weapons have life..." repeated Mok Yong. "Si Fu, how will I be able to get to that cave though? When I came here, I almost got eaten by those piranhas!"

"I think it's time that I teach Hing Gong (the martial arts that allow you to glide through space as if you aren’t there). It will allow tiy to fly across the water easily, smoothly, and quietly," said Kwan Song Hoi.

For the next month, that is what Kwan Song Hoi taught Mok Yong. Once again, Mok Yong was able to practice it at its height. He was able to just touch his toe in the waters and use that touch as a jump to soar through the water surface with ease. Kwan Song Hoi was very surprised by the power of this young man.

After that month of hard training Mok Yong was given three pieces of paper.

"What are these papers for?" said Mok Yong.

"I have studied the way you practiced martial arts, and I believe that these weapons will do you the best. First sheet teaches you how to make a special kind of sword, second one teaches you how to make a special kind of fan, and the third kind teaches you how to make a special kind of flute. These three items will able you to control nature with a flow according to your strengths and abilities. The sword and fan will allow you to motion the power of nature by the movement of your sword, and the flute will control the power of nature in different way. By the notes you play on it, the power of nature will be used different. Now, use your Hing Gong and make your weapons. Don't come back and see me until you're done!" said Kwan Song Hoi.

"Yes Si Fu, I can never thank you for all you have done for me," said Mok Yong.

"I just don't want to see another person who will live a miserable life because they lost their love one," said Kwan Song Hoi who was staring at the open sea, the one which her love one had suicide in. From this, Mok Yong knows that the reason his Si Fu has hidden here has to deal with someone whom he has lost too.

Without saying more, Mok Yong used his powerful Hing Gong to arrive inside the cave. It was a strange site there. The walls glittered in a sparkling white color and trees grew upside down. There were even some silk worms there, leaving many cocoons behind. Without doing anything else, Mok Yong took out the three pieces of paper that his Si Fu had given him. Sheet by sheet he worked, and every minute that he worked, Ching Ching was in his mind. By using the walls of the cave, the woods of the tree, and the cocoons of the silk worms, he had soon finished his weapons, each was a unique piece. These three powerful items became known as the "Ching Sum Geem", "Ching Sum Sien", and the "Ching Sum Siew", which was the sword, fan, and flute. All of these items are under the control of Mok Yong, obedient to Mok Yong, and will only listen to Mok Yong.

After his accomplishment of the weapons, he traveled back to the floating home of Kwan Song Hoi. Oddly, he did not see him drinking tea outside the bamboo house like he would usually do at this time. Mok Yong went around searching for him but he was no where to be seen.

Then he went inside his bedroom, there, he saw his Kwan Song Hoi lying in his bed. Mok Yong walked over by his side.

"Si Fu... Si Fu... It's Mok Yong. I've finish making my weapons and has came back to see you. Wake up," said Mok Yong.

Oddly, Kwan Song Hoi did not answer him. So Mok Yong shook him a little bit. "Si Fu, Si Fu, wake up." Just then, a thought came to his head. Then, he placed his finger slowly to Kwan Song Hoi's nose. There was no air. Just that moment, Mok Yong felled onto his knees and cried. His Si Fu has died already of old age.

"Si Fu, you said you’ll wait for me to come back when I’m done with my weapons! Why did you leave so fast?" said Mok Yong. He laid his head and hands on the body of his Si Fu, crying.

After he felt a little better, he has decided to bring Kwan Song Hoi to the main land and bury his body there so he can rest in peace. Just then, he realized that there was a letter on the table. Mok Yong picked it up and read it, and as he read, tears in memory of his Si Fu dropped down his eyes:

    Mok Yong

Right now, I am probably dead. You are the one and only student I have. I have treated you like my own son. I know that you have thought that I act weird from time to time and that you did not understand why. Long time ago, there was this girl whom I loved, but my Si Hing, your previous Si Fu, also fell in love with her. We were both fighting over her and she could not stand the pressure anymore and she jumped of the cliff and into the sea where my current house is built on. Ever since then, I lived in the sea that she suicide in. I thought I would live a lonely life here forever, but I have then discovered a cave with precious metals where precious weapons can be made from and this lake was just amazing, it was allowed me to discover future on with the martial arts of my dream, the one involved with nature which I have taught you. You came along and gave me the company that I have not had for many, many years. Thank you for being around me all the time. If you look under the bed that I have now died in, you will find something that I have left for you. The first thing is a jade amulet that I have carved for you, with your surname, Mok, carved on it. That jade amulet is made of a special kind of jade I found in the case long ago, and it will bring you good luck to you and your future generations. Second, there is a sheath. Once you place your sword in that odd looking sheath and placed the sheath on your hip, no one will know that you are carrying a sword. That sheath is pure white in color and will blend into any white clothing. Third, you will see that there is a piece of paper that I have. On that sheet is a saying, "Sum Yau Ling Sai, Yut Dim Tong (meaning: If two hearts are with each other, anything can be accomplished)." Once you copy that saying onto your fan with my style of handwriting, you will release the fan’s full power. It will allow you to connect with your fan and tell it that you are its owner. Fourth, it is a leather holder for you to hold your flute on your back. It's made of special white leather and should blend in with any white clothing. One more thing I will have to tell you, the martial arts that you have learned is extremely powerful. There are 8 levels to it. Level 1-5 are basics, the ones that you have learned before when you were with your other Si Fu. Level 6 and 7 is what you discovered by yourself, where you can control the wind and trees. Level 8 is where you are able to control many forces of nature with ease, from wind, water, trees, and even rocks. I have figured out a name for this martial art, and I think that it will be best if it's named, Ching Sum Kuet. Why call it that? You have found this martial art because of your love for your fiancé. The more you though of her, the more intended you are to learn this martial art. From this, I can tell you, the intention that made this martial art is your love for your fiancé. The more you loved her and miss her, the more of this martial art have been created. I ask you; use your power wisely and carefully. I do not believe that anyone will be able to harm you, due to your success. Even so, there are people out there that will want this massive power that you hold in your hands. Do not ever give the martial arts to anyone. Only pass it down your family. Others will not be able to develop the true meaning of this martial art except the descendents of you. Remember, after you rescue the girl whom your Si Hing stole from you, you should live a simple, humble, and normal life, where you do not bother with Gong Wu affairs. That will be the only way for you to not be hunted down by other Gong Wu people. Once those people find out the massive power you hold, they'll fight to death to take it from you. That will lead to a big problem in the world once again. I have not known why your other Si Fu has called me a legend, but now since I am dead, I guess I am a legend. Just have me inside your mind and I will be very happy. Now, Si Fu has to go. See you at our next lives; hopefully we can become master and student again.

    Kwan Song Hoi

Mok Yong placed down the letter and looked under the bed. There, he found the jade amulet, the white and camouflaging sheath, the sheet of paper with the saying, and the holder for his flute. Gathering these items, and marking his fan with the saying with the ink and pen provided on the desh by his master, he truly looks like a man whom no one can get in the path of. He then used Hing Gong to travel across the deadly waters with his Si Fu's body. Then, he buried him in the dirt by digging with his power that he holds of nature. Just by waving his fan in the air allowed him to remove dirt from the ground. After the burial, he gave his Si Fu three bows and returned to his other Si Fu's house, to find Zhou Le. Time has passed fast; it’s been about 6 months since Mok Yong has seen mainland and Zhou Le.

‘Will Ah Le think I'm dead already?’ thought Mok Yong as he traveled the way back to the old house, dressed like a white warrior, the one whom he was not before. He now stands up proud and strong, and in white. That color white, represented the power of the Mok family every since this day. White warrior (Bai Yi Jian Si) was the name given to the holder of the Ching Sum Kuet.

CHAPTER 3: The Battle Begins [intro]

    Characters:
    Mok Yong
    Zhou Le
    Ding Mo
Mrs. Ding - unassigned - generous and outgoing wife of Ding Mo who loves him dearly
    Ching Ching

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the old house of Mok Yong and Zhou Le’s Si Fu, sits Zhou Le on the floor, while meditating and saying Buddhist prayers. He is praying for his friend, Mok Yong, hoping that he'll come back safe soon. Since Mok Yong was gone for about 5 months, Zhou Le is worried that something might have happened to him. Suddenly, he heard footsteps at the door. Thinking that there is an intruder, he swung a dart behind him. Since Mok Yong's martial art skills have improved a lot, he was able to dodge it.

"Si Hing, is that your gift for welcoming me back?" joked Mok Yong.

Hearing Mok Yong's voice, Zhou Le happily turned around.

"Ah Yong!" said Zhou Le happily.

    "Ah Le!" said Mok Yong.

These two friends walked up to each other and patted each other on the shoulders.

"It's been 5 months already; you look like a real warrior right now. I'm so happy for you! But where have you been in these 5 months? I was worrying about you!" said Zhou Le.

"Sorry for making you worry. Remember when you told me about the legend of Kwan Song Hoi and I went to search for him? I was able to find him and he accepted me as his student. Maybe because my life story is similar to his, so he taught me martial arts and taught me how to make weapons for these 5 months," said Mok Yong.

"Martial arts? What kind of martial arts did he teach you?" said Zhou Le.

"The kind that our Si Fu was trying to discover. You wouldn't know this, but Kwan Song Hoi is the Si Hing of our Si Fu!" said Mok Yong.

"Si Hing? I would have never thought. Does that mean you can control nature?" said Zhou Le.

"Yes, Kwan Song Hoi calls his martial arts Ching Sum Kuet. It’s very powerful," said Mok Yong.

    "Show me," said Zhou Le.

Together, they stepped out of the house. Mok Yong looked right into the sky. Then he flicked out his fan and tossed it into the air. He then did a 360 with his body and while he did that, leaves encircled him. When he got back on his foot, he caught his fan with his hands and swiped it across horizontally, opening it. As he did this, the leaves that were encircling his body soared right in the direction of his fan and into the tree in from of him as if they were darts. The tree then fell down. Zhou Le starred with amazement. After a long pause, he was clapping continuously.

"Good! Good! My Si Dai is finally grown up!" said Zhou Le while clasping his shoulder. Mok Yong smiled with happiness.

"I can now save Ching Ching from Ding Mo. Tomorrow, Ah Le, we shall go search for Ding Mo," said Mok Yong with sureness.

"I know where he is. I have been told that he has been hidden in the mountain ranges beyond the horizon over there," said Zhou Le.

Mok Yong looked about the clouds in the sky, dreaming about the fun times he had with Ching Ching.

During these 5 months, Ding Mo has hidden in the mountain ranges near the home of his old Si Fu. As people have once said, the more dangerous place is the safest place. In the mountains, he has lived with his current wife and the 2 babies, and Ching Ching. Mrs. Ding loved him very much, so much that she doesn’t care if he has another women by his side. She might think this, but in Ding Mo's eyes, she was nothing but a women whom he was forced to marry. Throughout these 5 months, Ching Ching lived in sadness. She never talked to anyone or did anything. Every time that Ding Mo tried to get near her, she would scream and starred at him with anger in her eyes.

"Why? Why are you doing this to me? Ching Ching, you know how much I love you, how come you will not love me back?" said Ding Mo.

"I do not love you! You kidnapped me from your own Si Dai! You should be ashamed to do such things! Love is not something that can change just be because you want it to. Anyways, you already have a wife! You should be loyal to her! She treats like you treasure, but you treat her like grass!" yelled Ching Ching at Ding Mo. Every word that she screamed at him, Ding Mo’s heart hurts.

"You know the only reason I married her was because I was forced to! She loves me, but that doesn’t mean that I love her. Ever since the first time I saw you, I fell deeply in love with you, why are you treating me like this? What you are doing hurts me really deep," said Ding Mo. He tried to put his hands on the shoulders of Ching Ching, but she reacted fast and slapped him right in the face.

"Get away from me!" shouted Ching Ching. She slowly sank down onto the floor and slowly whispered and cried out, "Ah Yong… Ah Yong…."

Seeing this site, Ding Mo left the room. He vowed that he shall never let Mok Yong find Ching Ching. If he does, he will never be able to see Ching Ching again in his life. With this determination, he began to practice his martial arts, just incase Mok Yong and Zhou Le finds him. The main thought he had while he practiced was fear, and from fear came anger. During these 5 months, he developed a martial arts based from the evil side of nature, fear and anger. It has been said that evil can never overcome good, so will Mok Yong’s good force of nature defeat Ding Mo’s evil force of nature? They both came from a similar source, only strived from different directions, good and evil. During these 5 months, his wife tried to satisfy his every need and care for their two sons, but even so, it seems like whatever she is doing does not seem to satisfy him.

On the other side of the mountain were Mok Yong and Zhou Le. They are wandering the in woods, toward the direction of where Ding Mo is. They were looking around for clues of things that might have been left behind. Suddenly, Zhou Le spotted something. It was a pearl hair decoration.

"Ah Yong! Look at this!" said Zhou Le.

Mok Yong held the decoration in amazement. "It's… It's Ching Ching's! This was my present to her after we met for one month! She must have dropped it when Ding Mo kidnapped her! She must be around here! Zhou Le! Let’s look around more!"

    "Okay," said Zhou Le.

Mok Yong looked around and then upward. He noticed that there was a stream of smoke rising form the mountains.

"What are you looking at?" said Zhou Le.

"Look! In the mountains! There is a stream of smoke rising up. Ding Mo is a smart man; he might think that the most dangerous place is the safest place. Let's go!"” said Mok Yong.

So together, they traveled up the mountains to the place where they saw the smoke coming from. Once they noticed that there was a small cottage, they hid behind the bushes to see what was going on. A lady came out of the house with a basket of laundry. Then a man came out, and they realized that it was Ding Mo! Mok Yong was so eager to get up and attack him, but Zhou Le held him down and told him to wait till it's the right time. So they were both still in the bushes, listening to their conversation.

As Ding Mo walked out, he kicked the basket of clothing that his wife was washing.

"What are you doing?" said his wife softly and nicely. Ding Mo did not answer and walked away. His wife gave a sigh and picked up the clothing.

"I can’t believe him! He has such a nice and kind wife already, why does he still want another one?!" said Mok Yong.

Ding Mo walked over to a tree and kicked it hard, and then leaves fell down. Then he walked back over to his wife, who was washing clothes.

"Why? Why is that that after these 5 months, almost ½ year, the only person Ching Ching has in her mind is Mok Yong! I treat her very well, why is she not caring? She knows how much I love her!" shouted Ding Mo. He then kicked the grass.

"Give her some time," said his wife.

"Time? Time? I gave her 5 months already!" said Ding Mo. He kicked the grass.

Just then, Mok Yong and Zhou Le flew out of the bushes and stood right in front of Ding Mo with their swords pointing at him. Ding Mo raised his sword to defend himself and his wife ran back into the house.

"Who are you two?" said Ding Mo in dismay.

"Ding Mo, are you okay? You don’t even remember your two Si Dai?!" said Mok Yong.

Si Dai… thought Ding Mo. "You are Mok Yong and Zhou Le?"

    "Who else?" said Zhou Le.

"Ding Mo! 5 months ago you kidnapped my fiancé! I’m here to get her back today!" said Mok Yong.

Ding Mo gave a big laughter. "You think your kung-fu can beat mine? When we were little, I use to win you two in fights all the time!" said Ding Mo.

"Today is not the same as the days before! Zhou Le! Go!" said Mok Yong.

"Let’s see about that!" said Ding Mo with confidence that he was going to win. The battle has now begun...

    CHAPTER 4: The Curse [intro]

    Characters:
    Mok Yong
    Zhou Le
    Ding Mo
    Mrs. Ding
    Ching Ching
Mok Tian Hau (as a little baby) - unassigned - son of Mok Yong and Ching Ching
Suen Lap Jun (as a little baby) - unassigned - son of Ding Mo and Mrs. Ding
Suen Yu (as a little baby) - unassigned - son of Ding Mo and Mrs. Ding

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Let's see about that!" said Ding Mo with confidence that he was going to win.

Mok Yong and Zhou Le jumped forward with their swords almost hitting Ding Mo's head. Just before it hit, Ding Mo used his power and pushed his palms forward, causing a breeze of air that blew Mok Yong and Zhou Le backward. Mok Yong and Zhou Le slide back and regained their balance. Just then Mok Yong placed his sword back into its sheath and pulled out his fan. He then rotated 360 degrees and did a spin in the air, then leaves circled around him like daggers. Then he swiped his fan across his face and the leaves raced toward Ding Mo. Ding Mo dodged this by blocking the leaves with his sword. Ding Mo then jumped into a nearby tree, he twirled his sword around by rotating his wrist. By doing so, he formed a small whirlpool of air that shot toward Mok Yong. Mok Yong did a somersault and dodged it. He then rotated his fan around in 360 degrees with his wrist and then he pushed his palms up into the sky and blasted a powerful force of wind into the area. Then the sky started to change color, from clear blue, to gray. Then you can hear thunder and a storm started. Ding Mo was terrified! 'What kind of martial arts is this? When has my little Si Dai gain so much power?' thought Ding Mo.

"What kind of martial arts if THAT?" shouted Ding Mo in dismay.

"Ching Sum Kuet," said Mok Yong.

Mok Yong then jumped into the air pulled out his flute and blew a few harmonious notes into it, which caused the rain to form a river in the sky, under his command. He then used his flute and directed the water towards Ding Mo. Ding Mo was shocked when this happened and was not able to dodge it. This force of water caused him to fall out of the tree. By the time he got his mind back in place, Mok Yong charged towards him and hit him on the acupuncture spot which will make the other person faint for a period of time. The skies then began to clear.

"You will be able to wake up in 1 hour," said Mok Yong.

"Ah Yong! Why didn’t you just kill him?" said Zhou Le.

"No matter what, he's still my Dai Si Hing. If you tell me to kill him, I won't be able to do so," said Mok Yong. "Don't waste anymore time! Ching Ching must be in that cottage!"

When Mok Yong and Zhou Le were about to go into the cottage, Ding Mo's wife came out with Ching Ching. Mok Yong and Ching Ching gazed into each other's eye with happiness and tears dropped down their shining eyes.

    "Ching Ching!" said Mok Yong.

    "Ah Yong!" said Ching Ching.

Then these two lovers ran towards each other, greeting each other with happiness under the spring sky with flowers blossoming around them.

"You three better leave, when my husband wakes up, he'll sought for revenge,"” said Mrs. Ding.

"What about you?" said Mok Yong.

"No matter what happen, or what he does, I'm still his wife. I will remain by his side always," said Mrs. Ding

"Ding Mo is so lucky to have a wife like you. Sadly, he is not happy with that. Thank you for bringing Ching Ching and be back together Mrs. Ding. Your help for us, I can never repay" said Mok Yong.

Mok Yong and then bowed to their knees in front of her.

"What are you two doing? Get up! Get up!" said Mrs. Ding.

"Thank you for all you have done for me Mrs. Ding," said Ching Ching.

"It's time to go, or else who knows what will happen," said Zhou Le.

So after this, Zhou Le, Ching Ching, and Mok Yong started to leave.

"Mrs. Ding, if you ever need help, you can always ask me okay? I will be at our old Si Fu's house always," said Zhou Le.

    "Thank you," said Mrs. Ding.

Soon, Zhou Le, Ching Ching, and Mok Yong arrived back at their old Si Fu's house. Ching Ching and Mok Yong can not keep their eyes off of each other.

"Ching Ching, Ah Yong, you two better leave this city quick, where you can have a happy life together and not a life where you have to hide all the time," said Zhou Le.

"Zhou Le. What about you then?" said Mok Yong.

"Before I left Mrs. Ding, I told her that if she needed help with anything with Ding Mo, I would go and help her, I can not leave," said Zhou Le. "Anyways, if Ding Mo comes back in search for Ching Ching, I will be able to stop him for a while, so you two can have a nice life together."

"You might die if you do so Ah Le!" said Mok Yong.

"It’s fine. I'm a Buddhist. Life and death does not matter for me anymore. The most important thing is that I can help people when I am still living," said Zhou Le.

Hearing this, Mok Yong and Ching Ching understood. So they both set out to go far away form this village and live their life. Off they went, into another city.

On the other side of the mountain, Ding Mo woke up. He stared at the surrounding where he was. He realized that he was back inside the house. Mrs. Ding walked in with a bucket of warm water to wash her husband's face.

"You woke up,"” said Mrs. Ding.

"Where is Ching Ching?" said Ding Mo.

Mrs. Ding paused for a moment and began to wipe his forehead with a towel. Ding Mo grabbed her hand. "Tell me. Tell me where Ching Ching is!" shouted Ding Mo.

    "Calm down!" said Mrs. Ding.

"I beg you! Tell me where she is!"” said Ding Mo bursting into tears.

"She... she went away with Mok Yong and Zhou Le," said Mrs. Ding. Hearing this, Ding Mo fell back into his bed, and his heart was broken.

"Ching Ching... Ching Ching..." he repeated weakly.

"Don't be so sad, you know Ching Ching always loved Mok Yong and not you. If you love someone you should wish the best for her, and not always have her. I’ll go get you some food to eat," said Mrs. Ding, and she walked out of the door.

Ding Mo lied in his bed staring into the mid air. "Why? Why can't I have the woman I love? Why does everything have to be perfect for Mok Yong? Why is life so unfair? He has superb martial arts, great friends, and the women he loved. Why can’t I have the woman I love, friends for my life, superb martial arts, and whatever I want like Mok Yong does?" whispered Ding Mo into the air. As he said this, his anger rose more and more.

"Heaven! Why are you so unfair? Have you gone nuts? Why does Mok Yong get everything he every wanted and I don’t? Why are you so unfair! Mok Yong... I will have every generation of yours suffered though love pain!" cursed Ding Mo into the sky. At this moment, the sky turned dark and gray, and storm clouds gathered around. This was the power of Ding Mo's evil force of nature. Has his dark powers cursed the Mok family from this moment on?

Mrs. Ding walked into Ding Mo's room with some fine Chinese pastries in her hand when she saw Ding Mo asleep.

"Ah Mo, wake up and eat something. If you don't eat, you'll ruin your body," said Mrs. Ding. saw Ding Mo did not reply. Mrs. Ding pushed him a little, but he still didn't move. She lifted his bed sheet and saw Ding Mo's sword in his body! Ding Mo has stabbed himself to death.

"Ah Mo! Ah Mo! Why are you being so foolish? Why did you kill yourself?" cried Mrs. Ding. Sadness swept though the Ding family household this night as the night sky rose. On the table, Mrs. Ding saw a letter which his wife had write for her:

    Wife,

I can not live anymore without Ching Ching. I love her very much and will always love her no matter what. Answer this one question for me, why is the heaven so unfair to me? The ones whom I love, were friends with, and knew since I was very little has betrayed me and became my enemies. Why is that so? Why does Mok Yong get everything he wants and I don't? Why doe she have love ones, friends, and great martial arts when I have none of that? Is the heaven blind?

Take care of our kids for me, and teach them the martial arts which I have developed. The direction for it is hidden in the drawer where this letter is place. I will swear to heaven that Mok Yong's next generations will not have the peace they have right now. I will have them suffer from love pain for generations! See you at my next life dear...

    Ding Mo

After reading the letter, Mrs. Ding cried out loud. "Why are you so foolish? Why?"

Mrs. Ding soon buried his husband and took care of their children. She was just a plain women who had an arranged marriage with Ding Mo. They two had then lived in the woods to avoid their parents who were pressuring them too hard. She can not return home. She's just a women, she will not be able to nurture the two babies along. One day, she had a terrible fever and could not possibly take care of the two children. Unwillingly, she walked with the two children to the house where Zhou Le stayed. She fell right in front of the house. Luckily, Zhou Le saw and helped her in.

"Zhou Le... Please, please take care of my two children for me. I will not be able to live anymore longer, for I am weak. Please train them to be great martial artists. Here is the martial art that my husband wants them to learn when they grow up, please teach them it and let them be able to depend themselves..." said Mrs. Ding. Just after that, she died from fever.

Ever since that day, Zhou Le had taken care of the two children and named them Suen Lap Jun and Suen Yu. Afraid that they will learn the evil side of the martial arts of their father, he only taught them the basics before the evil side got into it. The other 1/2 of the martial arts was hidden inside a jade stone which he has specially made. Hopefully, this will seal the evil force of nature from Earth and what happened to their father forever.

On the other side is Mok Yong and Ching Ching. They had traveled to a small village where they lived off of farming. After about a year of being together, Ching Ching has gotten pregnant. Soon, the baby has arrived. Unluckily, Ching Ching has died as she gave labor. Mok Yong was extremely sad from this matter, especially since he and his wife has had an argument of what to name the baby. Because of Ching Ching's death, the baby boy was named after what she wanted, Mok Tian Hau.

Mok Yong has remembered why his wife wanted to name him that. Their conversation of why that is so flowed through his head as he stayed by the side of Ching Ching’s body.

    ***

It was a regular winter day where them two were inside the house, sitting with the warm open fire.

"Wife, what should we name our child when he is born?" said Mok Yong while holding his wife’s hand.

"I thought about it, we have gone through so much and so fast. All I want is a child who obeys us and gives us family warmth, let's name him Mok Tian Hau," said Ching Ching.

"Mok Tian Hau? That's such a weird name. You know that our child will be filial to us no matter what, the name doesn’t need to be that," said Mok Yong.

"But I like that name," said Ching Ching.

"Think of another one," said Mok Yong.

Then Ching Ching was quiet for the rest of the time...

    ***

The day of the baby’s birth soon arrived! Mok Yong panted as he walked back and forth in front of the room where his wife was giving birth, with sweat dripping donw his forehead. Suddenly, he heard a big scream and ran into his wife’s room.

"Given birth already?" said Mok Yong happily.

The birth mother held the baby to Mok Yong, who received it happily.

"Congratulations Mr. Mok, you're wife had brought you a baby boy," said the birth mother.

"Really?" said Mok Yong happily. He then sat next to his wife, showing her the baby boy. "Ching Ching, look at our boy! Look at him! His cheeks are so red and poofy! What should we name it?"

Ching Ching did not answer. In fact, her face was pale and was not smiling.

"Ching Ching, are you okay?"” said Mok Yong after he handed the birth mother the baby boy. Suddenly, Ching CHing spat out a gush of blood! "Ching Ching! Are you okay? Ching Ching! What's wrong?" Mok Yong hugged his wife with care and nervouness. "Birth mother! What's wrong?!" Mok Yong then placed his finger on Ching Ching’s nose. There was no air. He looked frantically at the birth mother.

The birth mother sighed. "I have told her before. This baby she’s carrying is a great danger to her. Her body is too weak to carry a baby, but she was eagar to keep it, because if she doesn't, she might never be able to carry a baby again. She risked her life to safe this baby of yours. I guess that she didn’t survive this."

"Ching Ching! Ching Ching!" shouted Mok Yong as he held on to his wife's body, which got colder and colder by the moment.

    ***

So now, Mok Yong took care of the baby boy himself, without his love one by his side. He lived his life full of sadness, without telling his son what has happened to his mother, or anything before that. This is the beginning of their family’s curse.

    Mr. Duan

Goon Chais (Police officers at that time)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was in the city of Luo Yang where this story will begin. There was a typical carefree and happy boy who lives there with his family. That boy was named Mok Ming Hei, but he doesn't know that, only his parents do. His family uses the last name of Yuan in order to live a normal and simple life. He is a very handsome boy with a very kid-like personality. Even so, he always thinks on the positive and good side and is willing to help his community in every way. He could be every girl’s dream boy. His family owned a small medicine shop where he helps out at, although he tries to ditch that job as much as possible. It was another regular day and he was ready to go and play with his friends.

"Ming Hei!" said Mr. Duan, a common villager of the city who has asthma. "Can you get me---"

"Medicine for asthma right? Mr. Duan, you have came to our store at least 3 times a month, I will always remember what you need," said Ming Hei happily.

Mr. Duan gave him a small laughter. "Ming Hei, you have such good memory."

"Don't say that. I should remember who you re and what you need," said Ming Hei while giving Mr. Duan his medicine.

Just then, Ming Hei's dad, Mok Tian Hau, came out from the room behind.

    "Dad," greeted Ming Hei.

    "Mmm," said Tian Hau.

"Yuan Lau Ban, your son is so intelligent. You must be so lucky that he’s helping you out at your store," said Mr. Duan.

"Don't say that Mr. Duan, or else my crazy boy will be too proud,"” said Tian Hau and then poking his boy at the head.

"Ouch! That hurts dad!" said Ming Hei.

"I'm going to leave now, see you later," said Mr. Duan.

"Slowly walk Mr. Duan!" said Ming Hei to Mr. Duan. Then he turned to his dad and said while smiling, "Dad, did you hear him? He said that you are lucky that you have a son like me!"

"See? See? You are acting too proud right now, get back to work," said Tian Hau.

    "Umm..." said Ming Hei.

"What is it?" said Tian Hau.

"I promised to go play with Siu Lan and Yeung Sung today. When I asked you yesterday you said I can go," said Ming Hei. He gave his dad an innocent look on his face and his dad just burst out laughing.

"This son of mine," said Tian Hau laughing.

"Thank you dad!" said Ming Hei as he was about to run out the door.

"Wait! As you go, bring this medicine to San Po for me,” said Tian Hau.

    "Again?" said Ming Hei.

"It's been three days already! You know she is too fragile to move and her son is busy, just be a good boy and bring her the medicine. Okay?" said Tian Hau.

    "Yes father," said Ming Hei.

So there goes the innocent boy, Ming Hei, pouncing down the street while swinging the bag of medicine in his right hand.

On the streets there are many little stalls, ones that sell handkerchiefs, snacks, and many other little things. Tong Siu Lan, a childhood friend of Ming Hei, and her mother, Tong Yi Ting holds their stall where they sell flowers right there in the streets. Siu Lan has not told anybody, but she had secretly crushed on Ming Hei ever since they were little kids. Siu Lan is a very pretty girl with little cute cheeks and charming eyes like the heaven's goddess. Memories of their childhood flourished her brain. Especially one time, when they were playing marriage and she was the new bride, and he was the groom. They did all the ceremonies with the bows and the crossing of the arms as they drank wine and everything.

Ming Hei was just pouncing down the streets doing to deliver medicine to San Po as he stumbled upon Siu Lan and her mother, Yi Ting's flower stall. Happily, Siu Lan spotted him and shouted his name across the streets.

"Ming Hei!" shouted Siu Lan. Puzzled by who called him, Ming Hei stopped pouncing and looked around him. "Over here, silly melon!" said Siu Lan. Hearing that, Ming Hei went over to Siu Lan.

"Siu Lan! Tong Ma," said Ming Hei.

"Did you know? When you were looking around, you looked like a silly little melon!" laughed Siu Lan softly.

"And you keep on saying! If you didn’t scream my name, why would I be looking around like I was crazy?" said Ming Hei .

"You two always break into a little argument every time you see each other," said Yi Ting.

"Who's not busy to argue with him/her?" said Ming Hei and Siu Lan together.

"Ai..." Sighed Yi Ting just laughed and nodded her head and went back to selling flowers to people down the street.

"Where are you going?" asked Siu Lan.

"No where much, my dad just told me to bring some medicine to San Po before I can go and play with you and Yeung Sung," said Ming Hei. "It shouldn’t take me long, but I might be a little late."

"How about this: I’ll come with you to go to San Po's and then we meet up with Yeung Sung later, so then you won’t be the only one late, like always. Then you get whacked in the head my Yeung Sung," said Siu Lan.

"You are saying this like I'm always late and is the one that always gets whacked in the head!" said Ming Hei.

"But you are the one who is always last. It's our rules! The one who comes last to our meets will get a whack on the head!" said Siu Lan.

"Then why are you willing to get whacked along with me?" said Ming Hei.

From his, Siu Lan turned around, since her face was getting red.

"Well, whatever. Let's go! Or else we really will be late," said Ming Hei tugging on her sleeve. This got Siu Lan even more red.

"Mom! I'll be back later! In about 2 hours!" said Siu Lan as she is getting tugged by Ming Hei.

"Okay okay!" said Yi Ting. She then smiled because she knows that her daughter likes Mok Ming Hei.

So down the streets they walked, with Ming Hei pouncing with the bag of medicine and Siu Lan walking very ladylike.

"Move faster Siu Lan!" said Ming Hei.

"You walk slower, I can’t walk that fast," said Siu Lan.

Hearing that, Ming Hei walked slowly back to Siu Lan and then walked at her pace.

"Why do girls always walk to slow?"” asked Ming Hei.

"That's how we walk! Then why you do man walk so fast?" asked Siu Lan.

"Eh! I give up," said Ming Hei. Siu Lan giggled at his childishness.

Soon, they arrived at San Po's house and they helped her boil her medicine and fed her. As Ming Hei boiled medicine, Tong Siu Lan was looking at him the whole time. She thinks that he looks so serious yet cute while he's doing something. After they helped San Po, they left and got ready to go to a local restaurant, called Chai Ming Lau (Colorful Life Restaurant), to meet up with their other friend, Zhu Yeung Sung, who was the son of a general in Chang’an city.

Once again, Ming Hei was pouncing down the streets happily.

"Siu Lan, I heard that one of the two bossy Siu Yeahs has moved out of the city,"” said Ming Hei.

"Yeah, Guo Ho Shing moved out, but He Git is still in the city. At least there won’t be two snobby Siu Yeahs around anymore," said Siu Lan.

"Who moved into the Guo’s residence?" asked Ming Hei.

"I heard that the Sima family moved in. I heard that their daughter is very ladylike and beautiful too," said Siu Lan.

"Really? People always say that the daughters of the rich families are always beautiful, so it might be false. I will have to see for myself to be sure. For instance, like you! You are very pretty but you are not from a wealthy family. Besides, those rich daughters spend all their time at home doing nothing and they don't show their faces to commoners like us, so they are probably fat and ugly," said Ming Hei.

Siu Lan was flattered by his comment to her, and also laughing softly from his comment about rich daughters.

On the other side of the busy street was a beautiful young girl walking down the streets looking at the handkerchiefs. Suddenly, a thief spotted her wallet and grabbed it without her noticing. She just continued browsing at the beautiful sets of handkerchiefs. Just then, Ming Hei and Tong Siu Lan were walking this way, with Ming Hei still pouncing his way. Because of his pouncing, he bumped into his charming young girl.

"Sorry!" said Ming Hei. Once he saw her face, he noticed the beauty that she possessed.

"Watch where you are walking!" shouted the girl. Wow, what a bratty lady. thought Ming Hei.

"Sorry..." said Ming Hei again. Once she saw his face, he noticed how handsome he looked. Then he and Siu Lan continued walking down the street.

As this charming girl reached for her wallet to pay for a handkerchief, she noticed that her wallet was gone. At this moment, she thinks that the handsome boy he just saw stole it. "I always knew handsome boys are no good!" whispered the girl to herself.

"Stop right there!" shouted the girl at Ming Hei. Ming Hei stopped, and so did Siu Lan.

"You called me?" asked Ming Hei politely. The girl then placed back the handkerchief on the stall and stomped up to Ming Hei.

"If I'm calling you who else am I calling? You thief!" said the girl.

"Thief? Who are you calling thief?" said Ming Hei.

"YOU! After you bumped into me, my wallet is gone, if it wasn’t you, who else took my wallet?" said the girl.

    "What? I.. I.. I didn't!!!" said Ming Hei dramatically.

"You can't lie! Follow me! I'm going report you to the Goon Fu!" said the girl pulling Ming Hei on the sleeves.

Ming Hei flung his sleeve out of the hands of the girl. "Let go! Why are you so stubborn? I told you that I did not steal your wallet! Why would I anyway? Siu Lan, let's go!"

    "Okay," said Siu Lan.

As Ming Hei and Siu Lan started walking away, the girl was getting mad. Then from behind, she did her Phoenix kick onto the back of Ming Hei. Since he's not that experienced at martial arts yet, that caused him to fall forward and onto his face. Then the girl stomped her foot onto his back, every unladylike.

"No one can steal things from me and get away!" said the girl.

Ming Hei then elbowed her behind the knees, causing her to slip so he can stand up.

The girl was very mad now, she charged towards Ming Hei giving him punches and kicks, but Ming Hei was the more experienced one and was able to dodge them.

Ming Hei held her leg as she tried to kick him in the face. "Your martial art is not that bad, but just strength is not enough," said Ming Hei.

This got the girl madder. She twisted her feet, causing Ming Hei to let go. Just then, people from the Goon Fu arrived and stopped the two from fighting.

"Goon Chai Dai Gaw! This man stole my wallet!" said the lady.

"No I didn’t!" said Ming Hei.

"Stop talking! How dare you two break up a fight in the middle of the streets! Both of you follow me to the Goon Fu," said one of the Goon Chai.

After this, Ming Hei and the pretty girl went to the Goon Fu. Siu Lan went to the Chai Ming Lau (Colorful Life Restaurant) to find Zhu Yeung Sung for his help, because of his superior ranking in society.

At the Goon Fu, the Goon arrived with Ming Hei and the pretty girl kneeling on the ground.

"What did you two come to the Goon Fu for?" asked the Goon.

"Dai Yun, these two were caught fighting on the streets,"” said one of the Goon Chai.

"Fighting on the streets? What are your names?" asked the Goon.

"Yuan Ming Hei," said Ming Hei.

"Sima Mei Yin, the daughter of Sima Lok Yun, if you know what is good for you," said the pretty girl while taking out a jade amulet with her last name carved on it to show her identity.

This shocked Ming Hei, and the rest of the audience on the side who are watching the Goon investigate on this case. 'The daughter of the rich Sima family is this woman? Wow, this is surely not what an upper class daughter should be like.' thought Ming Hei.

'She's the daughter of Sima Lok Yun? Sima Lok Yun is a very powerful man who helps with trade in the government. Even though he may not have the power that many others do, he has more power than me for sure.' thought the Goon.

"So it's really Sima Mei Yin. What did you say happened?" asked the Goon nicely.

"This person stole my wallet! All I want is to have it back!" said Mei Yin.

"Really? Yuan Ming Hei! Hurry up and give Sima Mei Yin Goo Leung her wallet!" said the Goon.

"I did not steal her wallet! What do I have to give back?" said Ming Hei.

"How dare you! You don't need to start lying!" said the Goon.

"Dai Yun, if he is not willing to give it back when you use the nice way, then use the hard way! Tell these two Goon Chai Dai Gaw to hit him 20 times on the butt!" said Mei Yin.

"Hey! You are an upper class lady, shouldn't you be more polite when you talk?!"” said Ming Hei.

"However I talk is decided by me," said Mei Yin confidently.

"People come! Spank Ming Hei 20 times!" shouted the Goon.

"I'm innocent! How can you hit someone when they didn’t do anything?" shouted Ming Hei.

It was too late. The Goon Chais had already started hitting him. Ming Hei cried as he tried to grip onto the floor. Mei Yin grinned.

Just then, Siu Lan arrived with Zhu Yeung Sung.

"Stop!" shouted Zhu Yeung Sung. Because of his superior ranking, the spanking stopped.

"Greetings Zhu Gong Zhi," said the Goon.

Mei Yin turned around and saw Yeung Sung and was attracted by his handsome face and bold eyes.

"For what reasons are you hitting Yuan Ming Hei?" said Yeung Sung powerfully.

"Zhu Gong Zhi, you haven't known, this man right here has stolen this lady, Mei Yin'’s wallet and is not wiling to give it back," said the Goon.

"Yeung Sung, I didn’t!" said Ming Hei. Yeung Sung held his hand up at Ming Hei as a sign that he'll take care of the situation from this point.

"Dai Yun, I think that there is some misunderstanding right here. I know Ming Hei, he will never do something like stealing," said Yeung Sung.

"Yes Zhu Gong Zhi," said the Goon.

"Can we go now?" said Zhu Yeung Sung.

"Most definitely! Slowly walk (Man Hang)!" said the Goon.

"Wait a moment! How can you use let them go? He stole my wallet!" said Mei Yin.

"Sima Goo Leung, I have already said, there must have been some misunderstanding. There are many thieves in the city of Luo Yang. How can you be sure it is Ming Hei who stole it from you? Besides, if they are thieves, they must be very intelligent and will not bump into people when they steal form you, or else they will all be in jail now. How much money did you loose? I'll give it back to you," said Yeung Sung as he took out his wallet.

Ming Hei pushed Yeung Sung's hand down. "Yeung Sung, I did not steal from her! You don’t need to pay her when I didn’t do anything!" said Ming Hei.

"If Zhu Gong Zhi says it was a misunderstanding, then I will not bother about it anymore. You don't have to pay me back," said Sima Mei Yin.

"Then we're going to leave Sima Goo Leung. See you some time," said Yeung Sung.

"Yeung Sung! You don't have to be that polite to people like her!" said Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei! Don'’t be so rude," whispered Siu Lan.

After this, Siu Lan, Yeung Sung, and Ming Hei left.

"Zhu Yeung Sung... What a hero..." said Mei Yin as she watched him exit. She had fallen in love with him at first site.

Siu Lan, Yeung Sung, and Ming Hei all went to a local inn. There, Yeung Sung was helping Ming Hei relieve the pain he has in his butt after getting spanked 20 times.

"Ouch! Watch it! That hurts!" said Ming Hei.

"I never knew you know what pain is,"” joked Yeung Sung.

"It really does hurt! Ouch! Watch it!" said Ming Hei.

"I told you not to pounce while you walk down the streets! Now you see what happens? You get accused of stealing!" said Siu Lan.

"It was all that Mei Yin's fault! I always thought that the daughters of rich families are always polite and nice, but not her! She might be pretty but she’s so bratty and crazy!" said Ming Hei.

"I think she's sort of cute," said Yeung Sung. "Her personality is so similar to yours Ming Hei"” said Yeung Sung.

"Don't say that! I don't go around accusing people that they stole my wallet, and she is NOT cute at all," said Ming Hei.

Yeung Sung and Siu Lan just laughed.

"Hey, remember to not tell my dad what happened today at the Goon Fu. If he finds out, he will kill me!"” said Ming Hei.

"Don't worry, we won't tell," said Siu Lan.

"You better now, or else I'll never talk to you guys again!" threatened Ming Hei.

"So, we didn't get to play today. Are you available tomorrow for hanging out Ming Hei?" asked Yeung Sung.

"Most likely not, I don't think that I'll have another day off for about 5 days. You know that my dad doesn't like me hanging out with you. He thinks that commoners like me shouldn't deal with higher officials, or upper class people, like you. He says that it will ruin your name if you keep in contact with me," said Ming Hei.

"Crazy! We are good friends! Who cares about classes? As long as we have fun when we hang out, it doesn’t matter," said Yeung Sung.

"Tell my dad that," said Ming Hei. "It's almost that time again, my dad said that I can only come out for 4 hours, I think I better leave."

"But your butt still hurts," said Siu Lan.

"I can live through it," said Ming Hei. "See you guys in 5 days at the Chai Ming Lau (Colorful Life Restaurant)" After that, he slowly got up, and slowly walked out of the door.

Watching Ming Hei in pain, Siu Lan feels a twitch in her heart.

At the other side of the city, is the Sima resident. Sima Mei Yin returned home, dancing into the doors.

"Where did you go daughter?" said Sima Lok Yun greeting her daughter at the door.

"Umm, I just went exploring the city. We've moved here for two days already, I just want to look around. I’m tired father, I'm going to be in my room" said Mei Yin.

"Stand right there!" said Lok Yun. Mei Yin did not dare to move. Then Lok Yun threw a wallet onto the floor.

"My wallet! Where did you find it?"” said Mei Yin.

"A thief stole it and was caught, and by our surname on the front of your wallet, they returned the wallet to our family," said Lok Yun.

"I knew that person stole my wallet!" said Mei Yin.

"Shut up! I heard about the whole fiasco you had at the Goon Fu, and it was not the person whom you have accused who stole your wallet,"” said Lok Yun.

"Not... not him?" said Mei Yin. "Then I have blamed it on an innocent person..." whispered Mei Yin to herself.

"You finally know that you blamed it on a good person? Mei Yin, you are an upper class woman, you should be more careful with the things you do! You shouldn’t start trying to fight someone down the streets because you think that they stole something from you! Do you know that what you did today made our family loose a lot of face?!" said Lok Yun. He banged his hand only the table.

"Sorry father, I promise that this would not happen again," said Mei Yin.

"Tomorrow, I will go with you to the medicine shop that the Mok family owns down the street to apologize to their," said Lok Yun.

    "What?!" said Mei Yin.

"What?! You caused that boy to get hit 20 times? Apologizing to him is the least you can do!" said Lok Yun.

    "Yes father," said Mei Yin.

"You have caused enough trouble today. Go to your room and practice your calligraphy," said Lok Yun.

"Yes father," said Mei Yin. She then walked slowly into her room. She did not feel like practicing calligraphy at all. She feels bad for blaming Ming Hei for something he didn't so. Even so, the thing she could not let down is how she acted in from of the public. She was known for her beautiful face, beautiful calligraphy, and the dreaming music on the Chinese piano, but she was doing martial arts and talked out loud very rudely today. This caused her to feel very bad, since her dad was very upset about it. All she did for the time she spent in her room was daydream and looking at the clear sky outside her bedroom window and listening as the birds chirp happily in pairs.

    CHAPTER 7: Apologies

    Characters:
Mok Ming Hei - Benny Chan
    Mok Tian Hau
Mok Fung - unassigned - caring mother of Ming Hei and wife of Tian Hau. She is currently 42 years old.
Sima Mei Yin - Tavia Yeung
    Sima Lok Yun
Tong Siu Lan - Leila Tong
    Tong Yi Ting
Siu Chun - unassigned - a pretty little servant of Sima Mei Yin, also her best friend. She is currently 16 years old.

    Minors:
    Mrs. Gu

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the other side of the city is Ming Hei. He is slowly walking back to his father's medicine shop. Once it was almost there, he tried to stand up tall and act like nothing happened. When he walked in, he did not see his father, so he assumed that he was in the back of the store picking out medicine.

"Where did you go for so long?" asked Tian Hau while picking out medicine, like Ming Hei had thought.

"I didn't even tell you I was home yet. How did you know that I---" said Ming Hei. He then got cut off by his father.

"Did you forget that I know kung-fu? You did not answer me, where did you go?" said Tian Hau.

"Nowhere particular, just went around with Siu Lan and Yeung Sung," said Ming Hei.

"You are still lying!" shouted Tian Hau. Ming Hei was frightened, his father had never yelled at him with such anger for a long time. "I heard about what happened at the Goon Fu. Why did you steal that lady’s wallet?"

"Father! I did not steal! She just accused me!" said Ming Hei.

"If you did not do so, why did you need Yeung Sung to come out and defend you?" said Tian Hau.

"That.. That girl was the daughter of Sima Lok Yun! You know the power that Sima Lok Yun possessed! If the Goon did not listen to her, then he might be in danger himself. Do you think the Goon will care about me getting hit 20 times more or himself?" said Ming Hei.

"Shut up!" shouted Tian Hau. "Go to your room until dinner time!"

"I did not do anything wrong! Why do I have to be punished?" said Ming Hei. Just then, his mother, Mok Fung, came out from her room when she heard Ming Hei and Tian Hau yelling at each other.

"What happened? Tian Hau, why are you yelling at Ming Hei? No matter what he did wrong, he’s still our son," said Ah Fung.

"Ming Hei! Kneel on your knees dinner time!" yelled Tian Hau as he walked away, ignoring Ah Fung. Ming Hei,who was always a filial son, obeyed and kneeled at his knees.

"Ming Hei, what happened?" said Ah Fung.

"Mother, I was accused of stealing this bratty girl’s wallet and she brought me to the Goon Fu and I got spanked 20 times! Then I came home and my dad is yelling at me when I did not even do anything!" said Ming Hei.

"It's okay, I believe you. You are too gentle, you will never steal something from anyone," said Ah Fung.

"Mother, why is father always so harsh to you? He never seems to care about you? I have never seen you two have a real conversation before," asked Ming Hei.

"This is our problem. You are still young, don't bother with it okay? Now, go to your room and practice your flute. I'll call you when dinner if ready," said Ah Fung.

"Father told me to kneel here," said Ming Hei.

"It's okay, go to your room and practice your flute," said Ah Fung.

"Okay," said Mei Hei obediently, and went into his room to practice his flute. Each note he blew into the instrument, spread harmony into the air. It seems like the wind and trees were dancing to the music's rhythm. As the servants passed by his room, they can not resist stopping and listening for a while and feeling like they are in heaven. Every single note he plays enlightens the day.

Tian Hau was in his room doing calculations to see how much money he earned today when the sounds of Ming Hei's flute flowed into his ears like a soft ray of light. That moment, he thought about his pass. 'Am I being too harsh on my son? Do I not listen to him at all?' thought Tian Hau.

It was another bright and sunny day with a clear blue sky. Ming Hei woke up and helped his parents open up their shop, but Ming Hei and his father did not speak one word to each other. Ming Hei knows that he did not do anything wrong and does not understand why he should apologize of get punished when he got blamed, and Tian Hau does not know if Ming Hei, the filial and gentle son of his, will do such a thing as stealing. He believes that he was too harsh at him yesterday, but at the same time, he does not believe that a son should yell back at his father like that. Lastly, there is Ah Fung, she just stood between these two gentlemen, as if she is sandwiched between the two, she did not know what to do. All three of them were setting up the store for the day on their own, Ming Hei organizing there, and Tian Hau organizing here. Ah Fung just sat at the counter getting the counter ready.

"Ming Hei, can you hand me those medicine on the counter?" said Tian Hau. Ming Hei did as he was told, but did not look into his father's eyes while doing it. From this, Tian Hau can see that his son is still mad.

Soon, business started and customers went in and out from their shop. The customers noticed something was wrong, because Ming Hei was not as cherry and happy as he used to be. Since every visit they make, Ming Hei always brings a smile on their face.

"Ming Hei, is something wrong? You seem different today," said Mrs. Gu.

"Thanks you caring Mrs. Gu, but I'm fine," said Ming Hei, giving off a charming smile.

"Hopefully everything is alright," said Mrs. Gu as she walked out the door.

"Slowly walk!" said Ming Hei out the door.

Suddenly at the front door of the store, a big group of people dressed in fine garments showed up. Tian Hau thought that there would be trouble going on.

"Can I help you sir?" asked Tian Hau to the man that seems to be the most decently dressed.

"I am Sima Lok Yun,” said the man. "I can to see you son---"

Tian Hau cut him off right there. "I greatly apologize for anything that my son has done to your daughter yesterday. It's my fault that I have not taught him well enough."

"Dad! I did not do anything, why do you need to apologize? It’s them who should apologize!" said Ming Hei, pointing his finger at Sima Lok Yun. Tian Hau pushed his finger down.

"Ming Hei! Do not be rude to our guest!"” said Tian Hau.

"Your Gong Zi is right, it's actually me who has to apologize," said Lok Yun.

"What?" said Tian Hau in amazement. Even Ming Hei stopped working and stared with amazement.

"Mei Yin! Don’t hide anymore, come out!" said Lok Yun. From the corner of the store, popped out Mei Yin, looking very innocent and ladylike.

"You are Miss Mei Yin?"” asked Tian Hau. Mei Yin nodded her head lightly.

"What are you doing here?!" shouted Ming Hei.

    "Ming Hei!"” yelled Tian Hau.

"I think there was some controversy yesterday. Your Gong Zi did not steal my daughter’s wallet. Someone else stole it and she thought it was your Gong Zi because he bumped into her. Then this whole thing started getting big and they even went to the Goon Fu! It's all my daughter's fault that it your Gong Zi to suffer 20 spanks. I greatly apologize for this matter," said Lok Yun.

"20 spanks? Ming Hei, why did I know nothing about this?" said Tian Hau.

"If I said it, would you even listen?" retorted Ming Hei.

"Mei Yin, apologize to Yuan Gong Zi," said Lok Yun.

"Sorry," said Mei Yin in a soft voice while looked in the ground, then backing behind her father.

"Father! Do you believe me NOW?" said Ming Hei.

"Miss Mei Yin, what happened?" asked Tian Hau.

"It's all my fault, if I wasn't being ignorant and actually happened, I wouldn't have accused Yuen Gong Zi for stealing when he did not do so. Mei Yin greatly apologizes," said Mei Yin.

"You think just apologizing is enough?"” said Ming Hei.

"You're right Yuen Gong Zi," said Lok Yun. He clapped his hands and servants came out from the corner with delicacies like abalone, yin wall, shark fin, silk, and many things.

"Sima Lo Yeah, we can not accept this, please take these things away," said Tian Hau.

"Are you crazy? What do you think we are? Don't think you are all that because you have money!" said Ming Hei.

    "Be quiet!" said Tian Hau.

"Your Gong Zi is right, money can not ever compare to the feeling of getting hit 20 times. Please accept my gift as a way to apologize," said Lok Yun.

"Sorry but we can not accept such a gift," said Tian Hau. "Ming Hei, get back to work."

    "Okay father," said Ming Hei.

"Yuen Gong Zi!" said Lok Yun.

"Please leave," said Ming Hei politely.

Sadly, the Sima family returned home with all their gifts.

"Tian Hau, if you just accepted the gifts, you would have made the Sima family feel a lot better," said Ah Fung.

"Mother, you do not understand. It's not the money matter," said Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei is right; it's not the money problem. All rich people think that if they got money, they can do whatever they want," said Tian Hau to Ah Fung. This quote he made seemed to have offended Ah Fung, but Ming Hei didn't know how.

"Father, you finally believe that I am innocent huh?" said Ming Hei.

"Yes," said Tian Hau. He acted like nothing has happened and started doing calculations at the counter.

"You dad needs face, don’t talk about it anymore," whispered Ah Fung. Ming Hei knew everything was back to normal.

"Dad, can I go play with Sui Lan and Yeung Sung tomorrow?" asked Ming Hei, giving off his innocent face.

"Okay, why not?" said Tian Hau.

"Thank you, father! I'm going to inform Siu Lan right now," said Ming Hei while jumping out the door of their family shop.

"Ming Hei! Ming Hei!" said Tian Hau, making Ming Hei racing himself to a stop.

    "What?" said Ming Hei.

"You forgot your wallet," said Tian Hau.

"I'm only gone for a while, I don't need to bring my wallet," said Ming Hei.

"You never know," said Tian Hau putting his wallet in his hand.

    "Thanks father," said Ming Hei.

"Go and hurry back, I'll need your help sorting some med----," said Tian Hau. Before he finished, Ming Hei already ran off, waving goodbye with the back of his hand. Tian Hau and Ah Fung couldn't resist but to laugh at their son's playfulness and innocence.

Here goes Ming Hei pouncing down the streets once again.

"Siu Lan! Siu Lan!" said Ming Hei happily as he arrived at Siu Lan’s flower spot. "Hello Tong Ma."

"Siu Lan, I'm going to talk to Mrs. Chai for a minute," said Yi Ting. Then she whispered to her daughter, "Take the chance." That caused Siu Lan to get red, so she pinched her mother.

"You seem happy, what happened?"” said Siu Lan.

"Remember the Sima family's daughter? Today, her father and her came to apologize for what happened yesterday because she found her wallet," said Ming Hei.

"She did? Then Yuen Sai Bak found out ab---" started Siu Lan.

"My dad knows everything, parts of everything. I had an argument with him yesterday, but it’s all resolved this morning. Oh yeah, I came to tell you that I can play with you and Yeung Sung tomorrow, meeting at the same restaurant. We don't have to wait 4 days anymore," said Ming Hei.

"Really? That’s great news!" said Siu Lan.

"I have to go back to help dad, can you inform Yeung Sung?" said Ming Hei.

    "Sure thing," said Siu Lan.

"Okay then, see you tomorrow,"” said Ming Hei starting to leave.

"Wait up!" said Siu Lan. Once again, Ming Hei pulled himself to a stop and walked back to Siu Lan. There, she handed him a small orchid (Siu Lan Fa). "The orchids are very pretty today; this one is my present to you."

"Thank you,"” said Ming Hei, then dashing off once again.

"You finally gave him a present?" teased Yi Ting.

    "Mother!" said Siu Lan.

"It's okay if you like Ming Hei. He's a very nice boy," teased Yi Ting again.

"I won't talk to you anymore," said Siu Lan. She turned her head and pretended to organize flowers. Yi Ting smiled at heart.

At this time, Sima Lok Yun and Sima Mei Yin have arrived at their home. Lok Yun was not very happy.

"Mei Yin, you have had enough trouble already. We have come to this city of Luo Yang because of my promise to my friend that I would have my only daughter marry his son, and I do not wish for you to have a bad reputation in this city," said Lok Yun.

"Father! I don't want to marry, I want to stay by your side forever until I get all old and wrinkly," said Mei Yin while giving her father a cute smile.

"Mei Yin, this is my promise to my friend. Besides, his son is skilled at martial arts, so maybe you can fight him sometimes," said Lok Yun jokingly. "I have invited them over for dinner in 3 days, so try not to cause anymore trouble okay?"

"Father! Yesterday was just a mistake, you know it," said Mei Yin.

"“But that mistake caused the villagers to think of you as a rude and bratty girl! If that goes to the ears of your future husband, it would be bad," said Lok Yun. "To prevent that, you should stay inside for the rest of these 3 days until you meet. We can say that the person whom people were talking about was not you and was someone else, since they have not seen your face yet."

"What? Staying inside is so boring though," whined Mei Yin.

"No more begging! In order to keep your image as a nice and well behaved girl, go to your room right now, and practice your calligraphy or Chinese piano," said Lok Yun.

    "Fath—" started Mei Yin.

"No more talking! Siu Chun, bring Siu Jeh to her room," said Lok Yun.

"Yes Master," said Siu Chun. After this, Mei Yin stopped into her room and Siu Chun, her servant, followed.

After Siu Chun stepped into Mei Yin’s bedroom, Mei Yin slammed the doors shut with a big sound, then sat very unladylike onto a chair.

"Siu Jeh! If master found out how you are sitting right now, he will hit you to death!" said Siu Chun.

"I don't care," said Mei Yin. She then started some oranges on the table. Then she spatted it out on the ground. "Whoa! Why is this so sour? Ew!" She then threw it onto the ground. Siu Chun quickly picked it up.

    "Siu Jeh!"” said Siu Chun.

"What? I'm going to have to marry someone whom I do not know very soon! I just want to have some fun and actually happy times before I enter a nightmare," said Mei Yin. "Hey Siu Chun! I've known you since I was a little kid and you’ve been my very best friend ever since. I have not treat you bad have I?"

"Of course not! You treat me like a sister," said Siu Chun.

"Then do you think it’s time you should repay me?" said Mei Yin.

"Siu Jeh! Don'’t tell me you plan to sneak outside and play and have me pretend to me you again and previous times," said Siu Chun.

"You know me too well Siu Chun. Tomorrow afternoon, okay?" said Mei Yin.

"If Master finds out you are in deep trouble!" said Siu Chun.

"He will not, like the previous times," said Mei Yin. "Siu Chun... Please... come on..."

"Umm... who told me to be your servant and good friend?" said Siu Chun.

"Thank you Siu Chun! It's a good thing that I've treated you like my sister now! This time, I want to try and dress like a boy and explore the city! Can you get me one of the boy servant's outfits?" said Mei Yin.

    "Alright," said Siu Chun.

"Thank you Siu Chun! I love you so much!" said Mei Yin while giving her a give hug.

    Sidekicks of He Git
    Waiters

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a nice and clear sunny day once again the next day. Mei Yin has succeeded in dressing as a boy servant and escaping her home. She wandered around the streets and started to get hungry, so she stepped foot at the Chai Ming Lau (Colorful Life Restaurant).

"Waiter! Get me the best Dim Sum you have!" shouted Mei Yin. The waiters all looked at her mysteriously. "What are you staring at?" Mei Yin stated rudely, and caused people to turn their faces. Soon the waiter brought her the food nervously. "Are you okay?" asked Mei Yin nonchalantly.

    "I—I'm fi-ine," said the waiter.

"Then why are your arms jiggling?" said Mei Yin.

"They are fi-ine," said the waiter while holding his arms down and then went away.

As she began to eat, she recognized a voice she heard before, it was Ming Hei. She tried to hide and pretended she didn’t see anything, because she knew that Ming Hei will sought revenge.

"I haven't step foot in this restaurant for so long!" said Ming Hei.

"You would have two days ago if you weren’t pouncing on the streets and causing such a big controversy," said Siu Lan.

"Hey! I was innocent! Don't talk about that incident again," said Ming Hei.

"You two, do you feel bad if you do not argue at least once a day? Come on, let’s get a seat," said Yeung Sung.

"Whose busy enough to argue with HER?" said Ming Hei.

Siu Lan whacked him on the back.

"Hey! Watch it! That hurts!" said Ming Hei. Just then, Yeung Sung stepped between the two to break the upcoming fight. They got a table at the other end of the restaurant, just then, Ming Hei noticed Mei Yin sitting at a table, but did not notice that it was actually Mei Yin.

"Hey, that boy over there must not know how to write the word dead, he is brave enough to sit at He Git’s table, everyone knows that he will kill anyone who sits at his table," whispered Ming Hei to Siu Lan and Yeung Sung.

"I never saw that boy before, maybe he’s new to the city and does not know the rules," said Siu Lan.

"Everyone here knows how bossy He Git is! Maybe he wants to challenge him or something. Hmm... The more I look at him, the more familiar it looks, where have I seen him before?" said Ming Hei.

"Don't care about other people's business that much, we're just here to have Dim Sum. If that fellow needs help later, we can always help," said Yeung Sung.

"Waiter! Bring us our usual Dim Sum and tea please!" yelled Ming Hei.

"Coming!" said the waiter while bringing them their usuals.

"Hey, who is that boy sitting at He Git’s table?" asked Yeung Sung.

"I do not know, but if he is brave enough to sit there, he must be some rich person. No one dares to mess with He Git," said the waiter.

    "Odd," said Ming Hei.

"Don't care about it, let's eat!" said Siu Lan.

Soon a group of men showed up at the restaurant. One of them stomped their feet onto the table that Mei Yin was sitting at.

"You must me very brave little boy. Do you know that you are sitting at me, He Git's, table?!" screamed He Git.

"He Git? Who is that?" said Mei Yin.

"Do you want to die? How dare ou not know the name of He Git and lives in the city of Lou Yang!" said He Git.

"I know him as a mouse (proverb)! Stop bothering me while I eat!" said Mei Yin.

"How dare you! You must not know how to write the word dead!" said He Git.

"No, I know how to write that word, my parents taught me since I was young, do YOU know how to write it?" said Mei Yin.

"How dare you!" said He Git.

"Gong Zi, don't waste your saliva talking to this pathetic person! Show him what you got!" said one of He Git's servants.

"I shall!" said He Git. Both of them got into a fighting position and the other people of the restaurant rushed out, knowing that a fight was about to occur, everyone but Ming Hei, Yeung Sung, and Siu Lan.

He Git punched a fist towards Mei Yin, but she grabbed his fist. He then twisted it, causing her to let go. Mei Yin gave him a phoenix kick aiming toward his stomach but He Git grabbed it and she fell to the ground.

"Want to play with me? You do not have the chance to yet!" said He Git.

Just then, Mei Yin swung her legs in a 360 degree trying to try He Git but missed. She stood back up and did another phoenix kick towards his head and missed again. He Git then did his tiger claw and was able to grab Mei Yin by the throat and pulled her towards him. Their bodies then collide, and he realized that she was a girl.

"Whoa! You are girl!" said He Git in amazement. Ming Hei, Siu Lan, and Yeung Sung quickly turned their heads. He Git pulled off Mei Yin"s hat and her beautiful and long hair cascaded down.

"I remember! That is the girl who said that I stole her wallet yesterday! Sima Mei Yin!" whispered Ming Hei to Yeung Sung and Siu Lan.

"Then we got to help!" said Yeung Sung getting ready to get up, but Ming Hei held him down.

"Wait a minute, from what she did to me yesterday, let's watch a little more first,” said Ming Hei. Yeung Sung sat down unwillingly.

"You are very pretty!" said He Git and pulled her closer.

"Let go of me! Back off!"” shouted Mei Yin.

Suddenly, the back of a sword hit He Git right on his hip, causing him to let go of Mei Yin and backing off.

"Who was that?" said He Git.

Just then, Yeung Sung got up and said, "It's me." Mei Yin backed up to Siu Lan, who comforted her.

"Zhu Yeung Sung. My family has nothing to do with your family! Why are you butting into my business?" said He Git.

"That doesn't mean that I can not help someone if I see that they need help," said Yeung Sung.

"You don't know the outcome if you go against my way do you?" said He Git.

"No I do not, but I know what you are doing to Miss Mei Yin is wrong!" proclaimed Yeung Sung.

"Are you trying to start a fight?" said He Git.

Yeung Sung pulled out his family's jade amulet with his family name printed on it and slammed it on the table. "The Zhu's family jade amulet is right here, if you refuse to listen to the Zhu army's words, don't blame me for not warning you," threatened Yeung Sung.

He Git knows that the Zhu family army is a very powerful force that has helped China retrieve part of Tibet, and his parents have warned him to stay out of their way. "Fine! I'll give you face this time. Guys! We're going to leave!" said He Git, while leading his followers out of the restaurant.

"You should have leaved earlier!" shouted Mei Yin down the way, forgetting her manners at the moment.

"Are you okay Mei Yin Goo Leung?" asked Yeung Sung. At that moment, Mei Yin noticed the shine in his eyes that caught her attention once again.

"I—I’m fine. Thank you Zhu Gong Zi for helping me," said Mei Yin very politely. She even gave a small curtsey at the end!

"Are you trying to act mannerly?" said Ming Hei who sat a few tables from where Siu Lan, Yeung Sung, and Mei Yin are.

"Hah! Why are you always against me?" said Mei Yin.

"Hey! It's you who started it!" said Ming Hei. Mei Yin didn't talk, because she knew that she started it from the controversy of yesterday afternoon.

"Ming Hei, don't be so rude. Mei Yin Goo Leung---" started Yeung Sung.

"Call me Mei Yin," said Mei Yin.

"Mei Yin, why are you dressed like a boy?" asked Yeung Sung curiously.

"Umm, my dad was mad about what happened yesterday, and he told me to stay out of trouble. In order for me to stay out of trouble, he told me to stay home. You know how boring a house is, so I snuck out, dressed like a boy to explore the city. I would have never known that I would step upon some mean people like that person whom you made go away," said Mei Yin.

"That was He Git, he is known for being a mean and bossy person in the city. If possible, try to avoid him," said Yeung Sung.

"I will. Thank you very much for saving me today. And with what happened yesterday…” said Mei Yin. She scuttled toward Ming Hei. “Yeung Gong Zi, please forgive me. Big people have big forgiveness (chinese saying), please forgive me. Little people do not know the world (chinese saying), come on..." She started moving Ming Hei's arm back an forth, causing him to get irritated. He flung her arm off.

"Fine, fine! Do you think that I have that low of a temper?" said Ming Hei.

"Really? Thank you for forgiving me, I was just being cautious scene I just arrived at the city," said Mei Yin.

"You are new and don't know the way around here (chinese saying). Do you want us to help guide you around?" said Siu Lan.

"What? Do you think she’s not enough trouble already?" said Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei ah..." said Yeung Sung.

"Do you not like me being around you guys? I know, I did not give you such a good first impression. From birth, I already have very little friends because I'm born in a rich family. All the people who are around me are my parents and servants. I'm not as lucky as Zhu Gong Zi to live in a wealthy family and have many friends," said Mei Yin sadly as she sat in a chair. What she said seemed to have touched Ming Hei. He has always had friends, so he never knew what the feeling of being lonely was.

"Don't be so sad. You didn't have friends before but now you got us! We can all do everything together!" said Siu Lan.

"Really?!" said Mei Yin. "What about Yuen Gong Zi?"

"Ming Hei, don't be too stubborn. You aren't like this regularly, why are you so against Mei Yin Goo Leung?" said Yeung Sung.

"Who said I was against her?" said Ming Hei, giving off a little smile at the end. From this, Yeung Sung, Siu Lan, and Mei Yin knew that he doesn’t mind having Mei Yin around.

"Ha! You made us think that you don't like Mei Yin!" said Siu Lan.

"If I don't do that, then it wouldn't have been fun!"” said Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei, you are always like this," said Yeung Sung.

"That means that its okay if I play with you guys right?" said Mei Yin.

"If Ming Hei says yes, then it's definitely yes," said Yeung Sung. Mei Yin looked at Ming Hei innocently with eyes that he wouldn’t say no to.

"Why would I say no? The more people the more fun it would be!" said Ming Hei.

"That means you are not mad at me from what happened yesterday anymore?" said Mei Yin.

"Do you want me to?" said Ming Hei. Mei Yin moved her heads sideways as a way of saying no, also giving him a smile at the end.

"I can call you Ming Hei, you Yeung Sung, and you Siu Lan right?" said Mei Yin.

"Of course! We’re friends right?" said Siu Lan.

"Siu Lan, do you notice something? Mei Yin's personality is very alike to Ming Hei's!" said Yeung Sung.

    "What?!" exclaimed Ming Hei.

"You both are so naughty and innocent all the time!" said Yeung Sung.

"You are right!" said Siu Lan.

"Yeung Sung! You are comparing me to her?" said Ming Hei.

"I know right? I am nothing like you!" said Mei Yin.

Yeung Sung and Siu Lan walked out of the restaurant after paying their bill, while Mei Yin and Ming Hei argued about who is like who at the background. It took them a short while until they realize that Yeung Sung and Siu Lan were gone, but when they realized, they chased after them out the door.

    "Wait up!" said Ming Hei.

"Why are you guys walking so fast?" said Mei Yin.

"You two seemed to have so much fun arguing, how can we interfere?" said Yeung Sung. Ming Hei whacked him in the head. "Ouch!"

"Are you playing with me?" said Ming Hei. Yeung Sung gave a small laugh and placed his arm over his dear friend's shoulder.

"Where shall we go today?" said Yeung Sung.

"Let's go to the river! We haven't gone there for so long!" said Siu Lan.

    "What river?" said Mei Yin.

"There is this river outside of the city; the water there is very clear and beautiful. We usually have out there by just playing in the waters or fishing some fish to eat. It's a very interesting place where can forget all the sad things and do whatever you want for a while," said Siu Lan.

"That sounds so fun! Let's go!" said Mei Yin, starting to walk ahead of them.

"Hey! Do you even know where the river is?" said Ming Hei.

    "Umm... no..." said Mei Yin.

"Then why are you walking so fast?" said Ming Hei.

"Hehe..." said Mei Yin, giving him a cute little smile.

"Come on," said Ming Hei leading the way. Yeung Sung, Mei Yin, and Siu Lan just looked at each other with a smile and caught up with the carefree and childish Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei, is Luo Yang fun? What are some fun things to do around here?" said Mei Yin.

"Are you coming here to live or coming here for like a vacation?" said Ming Hei.

"Of course for stay!" said Mei Yin.

"Really? It seemed like all you care is fun," said Ming Hei jokingly.

"If you don't have fun in your life, then why is it worth living? Besides, I'm just trying to have some fun before I enter a nightmare," said Mei Yin.

"Nightmare? What nightmare?" said Yeung Sung.

"Don't talk about it," said Mei Yin.

"By the way, how come you are so different frpm other rich family children?" said Ming Hei curiously.

"Different? What do you mean?" said Mei Yin.

"I thought that rich children are either very bossy and mean, like He Git, or very smart and kind, like Yeung Sung," said Ming Hei. "You on the other hand, are so bratty and crazy, and very unladylike!"

"Ha! Are you trying to start another right?" said Mei Yin with her hands on her hip.

"This is what I'm talking about! You are acting very unladylike right now!" said Ming Hei.

Mei Yin retrieved her hands from her hips and made a fist right into Ming Hei's face. She then slowly brought it down and curtsied like a lady. "Is this ladylike enough?" said Mei Yin.

"A LOT better," said Ming Hei. Mei Yin then kicked him right on the leg. "Hey! You---"

"You, you, you, you what?" said Mei Yin.

"Stop the fight right now," joked Yeung Sung stepping right between them.

"If you two act like this, we will never get to hang out at the river today," said Siu Lan.

"I'll forgive you this time because of Yeung Sung, hmp!" said Mei Yin. She then walked away with her head up high and taking big steps.

CHAPTER 10: A Day at the River

    Characters:
Mok Ming Hei - Benny Chan
Tong Siu Lan - Leila Tong
Zhu Yueng Sung - Michael Tong
Sima Mei Yin - Tavia Yeung
    -----------------------------------------------------------

At the river, the air was crisp and breezy. The water was clear blue with the sun shining onto it, reflecting off sparks of adoring sunlight. The trees around it have a dark green and natural color blowing lightly to the direction of the wind.

"Wow! The river is so pretty today!" said Siu Lan.

"This is the river?" said Mei Yin in surprised.

"If it's not the river, what is it?" said Ming Hei. Mei Yin slapped him on the back.

"The water is so blue today. Ming Hei, what do you say? Want to go in it?" said Yeung Sung.

"Of course!" said Ming Hei. They both started to take their top layer clothing off and then dived right into the river, splashing each other with pleasure.

"Hey! You two will catch a cold!" shouted Mei Yin.

"Let them. They always do this. Sometimes, I'm crazy enough to even join them. It's feels very good to be in the waters," said Siu Lan as she relaxed herself on the grass.

"But," started Mei Yin. Just then, a big splash of water landed on Mei Yin and Siu Lan. Ming Hei and Yeung Sung laughed from the distance.

"You have such a good aim Yeung Sung! You are able to hit them both from this far!" said Ming Hei.

"What? It was you who splashed them!" said Yeung Sung.

Mei Yin stood up and shouted, "Yuen, Ming, Hei!"

"It wasn't me! It was Yeung Sung!" stuttered Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei, stop lying," teased Yeung Sung. Just then, Mei Yin rushed over to Ming Hei, jumped into the waters, and kept on hitting him with continuous little hits.

"Really! It was Yeung Sung!" said Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei, you can't deny the truth!" said Yeung Sung. Just then, a big splash of water landed on him from behind. It was Siu Lan.

"Yeung Sung, I know your tricks already, it was you who splashed us!" said Siu Lan.

Mei Yin stopped hitting Ming Hei and looked confusedly at Yeung Sung. "It was you?" said Mei Yin.

"I told you already! He always does this, I can't believe you fell for it!" said Ming Hei.

"Sorry," said Mei Yin softly and shamefully.

"That's all you have to say?! At least let me get you wet ten times more!" said Ming Hei, while splashing water at Mei Yin. Soon, all four of them were in the water, splashing each other and having the fun they haven't had for a long time. For Mei Yin, this was the first time she ever had this much fun. Every moment she was in the waters, she felt like she was in paradise, with Yeung Sung.

After a long time of staying in the waters, they all got out and lied on the grass, waiting for the fish they caught to be cooked.

"Thank you all of you," said Mei Yin.

"Thanks for what?" said Yeung Sung.

"I have never had this much fun in my life before. Today is the best day of my life," said Mei Yin.

"What? This is nothing, you should see we do some days!" said Ming Hei.

"Don't worry; you'll have a lot more fun days coming. We're good friends, aren't we?" said Yeung Sung as he patted his hand on Mei Yin's shoulder, causing her to feel an increase with her heartbeat.

    "Yes," said Mei Yin shyly.

"The fish is ready, let's eat!" said Siu Lan. Mei Yin looked upon her fish with curiosity, she has never eaten fish that looked like this, all of hers are specially prepared and was very pretty looking, but this one was black and not so pretty.

    "What's wrong?" said Yeung Sung.

    "Nothing," said Mei Yin.

"Are you too used to rich people's lives and not used to lower class way of cooking like this?" said Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei,” said Siu Lan. Ming Hei just got back to eating his fish as if he didn't hear anything.

"Try it, it's really good. It may not look as appealing, but I bet you the taste is better than any you have ever eaten before," said Yeung Sung. With the encouragement of Yeung Sung, Mei Yin slowly placed the fish in her mouth and realized the mouthwatering taste that the smooth fish meat enfold as it melted in her mouth. Her eyes widened with a feeling of happiness.

"It's good isn't it?" said Ming Hei.

"It's very good! How come I have never tastes anything as good as this?" said Mei Yin.

"Food that looks good does not necessary taste good. It's the same thing as life in the upper class is not necessary more fun than life in the middle and lower class. That is why I find so much fun when I play with Ming Hei and Siu Lan," said Yeung Sung.

"You're right; life in the upper class is all about manners and saving face. All I used to do is stay home and wait to eat, wait and after that, wait to sleep, and then eat again. It's very boring and unhappy," said Mei Yin.

"Don't worry about that anymore, we're all friends now! We'll all have fun together!" said Siu Lan.

"That is if my dad allows me to come out and play with you guys," said Mei Yin sadly.

"What do you mean?" said Siu Lan.

"You guys saw how I was dressed like a boy earlier today. I was dressed like that because I snuck out of my house since my dad locked me inside out house because of the controversy I caused yesterday," said Mei Yin.

"Lock you inside your house? Is your dad crazy?" said Ming Hei.

"He just wants me to keep out of trouble," said Mei Yin.

"I don't understand you father, I can't live a single day without seeing the sunlight!" said Ming Hei.

"Of course you can't, you are like a bad little monkey! Mei Yin is different, her life is different from yours," said Yeung Sung.

"Don't worry, you are able to get out today, so you would most likely be able to get out tomorrow," said Siu Lan.

"I hope. By the way, when will be the next time we can all come out and have fun?" said Mei Yin.

"We usually come out at least once every 5 or 6 days, because we all have things to do. Like two days ago, when you accused Ming Hei, we were about to come out and hang out after a long 1 month when I was out of town. Luckily, we were not busy today so we can get together," said Yeung Sung.

"Then I can't wait till that day comes again! When and how can you inform me about the meet?" said Mei Yin.

"We usually just tell one person and it just gets passed on, but you are always inside your house, so, I don't know how we can inform you. I guess we'll just have to leave you," joked Ming Hei.

"I know you won't. Even if you will, Yeung Sung and Siu Lan will not dare to," said Mei Yin giving off a pretty little smile.

"Let's finish eating out fish! We'll figure out a way to inform you, or if you can come out into the streets again sometime, just stop by my flower stall or Ming Hei's medicine shop and ask us about it," said Siu Lan.

"Okay. I'm sure I'll be able to figure out a way to make my dad let me go outside," said Mei Yin. "Yeung Sung, don't you know martial arts?"

"Yes I do, why?" said Yeung Sung.

"Want to challenge me? I have learned a few skills from my previous master before I moved into Luo Yang. What do you say?" said Mei Yin giving off her once again innocent and irresistible face.

"Of course, just let me finish the fish first," said Yeung Sung.

"Mei Yin, are you crazy? Yeung Sung is the son of Zhu General, the one who helped China gain part of Tibet! You think your little skills can beat him?" said Ming Hei.

"How will I know if I didn't try?" said Mei Yin with confidence.

"Don't talk about Yeung Sung, I don't think you can even beat me!" said Ming Hei.

"You know martial arts?" said Mei Yin.

"I know a little bit," said Ming Hei.

"Too bad, I do not want to challenge you, I want to challenge Yeung Sung," said Mei Yin,

    "You--," started Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei, you're doing this again?" said Siu Lan.

"I'm giving Siu Lan face and do not bother to argue with you," said Ming Hei.

"Okay you two," said Yeung Sung. "Let's go Mei Yin!"

    "Okay," said Mei Yin.

Both of them then glided into the air peacefully touching the trees for support with their mere toes. Then Mei Yin pulled out her silver 9 section whip and Yeung Sung pulled out his Golden Dragon Sword.

"9 section whip? Clever, I haven't encountered anyone who uses that as a weapon yet," said Yeung Sung.

"And now you will," said Mei Yin. She whipped her 9 section whip toward Yeung Sung. He dodged it by spinning across the tree to another nearby tree. Mei Yin tried again but Yeung Sung managed to hold the whip by having it wrapped around his sword. Mei Yin struggled to release her whip, but Yeung Sung had the stronger grip and managed to hold it with not problem. As Mei Yin continued struggling, Yeung Sung gave her a small grin and twisted his sword, causing her whip to fly toward her. With the sudden release of her whip, she felled backwards falling off the tree! Luckily, Yeung Sung's reflex was fast enough. He flew toward Mei Yin and caught her before she fell onto the ground. Mei Yin stared into his eyes as he landed safely on the ground. He did not stare back into her eyes, but the warmth he possessed that led to her heart through his hands that grasped her tightly and securely by the hips. Her heart thumped harder and harder as this moment continued, she felt like an angel in heaven as she glided though the air with him. Finally, they landed to the ground and the dream of Mei Yin has faded, she stepped back into reality.

"Are you okay?" said Yeung Sung.

"I'm fine, thank you," said Mei Yin.

"No, no. It's me who should apologize. If I did not let go of your 9 section whip that fast, you wouldn't have fallen," said Yeung Sung.

"No, it's okay," said Mei Yin.

On the other side of this scene sits Ming Hei and Siu Lan, staring at what Yeung Sung and Mei Yin are doing.

"Look! I think Mei Yin likes Yeung Sung," said Ming Hei.

"Don't be so nosy, Ming Hei. Even though I think she does," said Siu Lan.

"You told me to not be so nosy, but you are talking about the same thing," said Ming Hei.

"Fine, you win, you win," said Siu Lan.

"Don't you think they look god together?" said Ming Hei.

"I guess so," said Siu Lan.

The sun soon started setting and these four explorers started their way home, waiting for another bright and shining day like today to have fun in.

    CHAPTER 11: Persuasion

    Characters:
Sima Mei Yin - Tavia Yeung
    Siu Chun
    Sima Lok Yun

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mei Yin looked around to make sure no one was around. Where is she now? She's sneaking back to her family's estate. Hopefully no one noticed that she was gone. She peeked through the walls, and then when she saw that no one was outside her bedroom, she tiptoed over and slowly opened the door and snuck in.

"Siu Jeh! You're finally back! You've been gone for so long! Lo Yeah almost came in to check on you! Luckily I told him that you were asleep, and that he actually believed it! Where did you go?" said Siu Chun.

"Shh!! Don't talk to loud or else father will really know that I wasn't not home!" whispered Mei Yin.

"Yes Siu Jeh, where DID you go?" whispered Siu Chun.

"Around the city," said Mei Yin as she tinkled her way to sit on her bed.

"Around the city doing what?" said Siu Chun.

"Hmm... I'm not telling you," said Mei Yin teasingly.

"Siu Jeh ah! Why? If you do not tell me, I won't help you anymore to go out!" said Siu Chun.

"Siu Chun! You aren't doing this to me are you?" said Mei Yin.

"I won't if you tell me what you did and why you're so happy," said Siu Chun giving her a threatening smile.

"Fine, I'll tell you. Promise to not tell anyone?" said Mei Yin.

    "Promise!" said Siu Chun.

"Well, it started out terrible. I was eating at this restaurant and then this guy came and started bothering me---" started Mei Yin.

"What? Are you okay?" said Siu Chun.

"I'm not done yet. Luckily, this other person came out and saved me from that person and caused that person to go away. Then I became friends with his three other friends," said Mei Yin.

"Siu Jeh! How do you know those people are good or bad?" said Siu Chun.

"They are good, I am positive of that. Remember the person I accused for stealing yesterday?" said Mei Yin.

"Yeah, did he come for revenge?" said Siu Chun.

"No, he's not a person like that! He isn't like the person whom I thought he was. He's not that stubborn as I thought, he's actually quite a gentleman, but he's too playful sometimes," sad Mei Yin.

"Was he the one who saved you?" said Siu Chun.

"No way! I bet he'll never be able to do something like that! The one who saved me was his friend, Yeung Sung. He's so handsome and has very good manners. He really knows how to treat a woman!" said Mei Yin.

"Does our Siu Jeh have a crush on someone?" joked Siu Chun.

"Siu Chun ah!" said Mei Yin

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. You said there were 4 people whom you met, who is the fourth one?" said Siu Chun.

"Siu Lan. She's very nice! She told me her family owns a small flower stall at the market," said Mei Yin.

"What did you guys do today?" said Siu Chun.

"We did a lot of things! We played by the river, ate fish, challenged each other to martial arts, and just basic stuff that regular people do every day that an upper class girl like me never tried before in my whole life," said Mei Yin.

"But you're an upper class girl! How can you have never done anything that they have done before?” said Siu Lan.

"Every day I'm locked inside our house, and my closest friend is you. No one talks to me or plays with me crazily because they are scared that they might hurt me or something, but with these people, I really had fun! They don't treat me like an upper class, but as a friend," said Mei Yin.

"Let me guess, you want to go out and play with them again sometimes," said Siu Chun. Mei Yin just gave her a little chuckle and those ever to so innocent eyes once again.

The moon soon began to rise and covered the once so clear sky with a navy sheet with sparkling stars embroidered into it.

"Lo Yeah! Lo Yeah!" screamed Siu Chun suddenly in the SIma family's estate as she ran in search for Sima Lok Yun, her master.

"Siu Chun! What's the screaming for?" said Lok Yun as he stormed out of his library madly.

"Master... (pant) Siu Jeh... (pant)," panted Siu Chun.

"Siu Jeh what? Stop wasting my time! I have a lot of things to do still!" said Lok Yun.

"Siu Jeh fainted!" said Siu Lan finally.

"What?!" said Lok Yun in surprised. They then rushed to the scene, Mei Yin's bedroom. There, they see Mei Yin lying on a bed, fast asleep. "Siu Chun! What happened?"

"Siu Jeh... Siu Jeh...," started Siu Chun nervously.

"Stop hesitating! Talk!" commanded Lok Yun.

"She was trapped indoors for two days already, and because she's being so bored, she has lost her appetite to eat. She hasn't eaten since yesterday!" said Siu Chun.

"Why didn't you tell me this earlier?!" said Lok Yun.

"Siu Jeh told me not too," whispered Siu Chun.

"And you listen to her when it comes to things this serious?!" said Lok Yun. "Siu Chun, go and tell Siu Fa to call the doctor in! Quickly! Then come back with a wet and hot towel!"

"Yes Master," said Siu Chun. As she began to walk out the door, Mei Yin started to move a little bit.

"Don't go yet Siu Chun!" said Lok Yun. "Mei Yin! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Siu Chun, you don't need to get the doctors, I'll be fine," said Mei Yin faintly.

"Yes Siu Jeh," said Siu Chun.

"Go get a hot wet towel, and tell Siu Fa to prepare some congee for Mei Yin!" said Lok Yun.

"Yes master," said Siu Chun as she went out the door. As she stepped out, she gave a small chuckle at her Siu Jeh's great acting.

Lok Yun grasped Mei Yin's hand securely. "Mei Yin, why are you being so foolish? Why did you starve yourself?"

"Father... I... lost my appetite... I just can not... bear to place another single... piece of food... into my mouth... as I remain locked in... this stuffy and tiny house..." said Mei Yin faintly.

"It's okay! Once you get better, I won't lock you in anymore. If I knew that you would be sick from being inside too long, I wouldn't do this to you," said Lok Yun regretfully.

"It's okay father... I do not blame you... you are only doing this for me own good... It's okay," said Mei Yin faintly.

"When you get better, you can go outside all you want and play outside as you please. Okay sweetheart?" Lok Yun stroked Mei Yin by the head.

"Yes father, thank you," said Mei Yin.

"Master, here's the wet towel," said Siu Chun as she stepped into the room and handed Lok Yun the towel. He wiped Mei Yin's forehead with it ever so gently. Mei Yin released a faint smile on her face.

"Mei Yin, rest a little bit. Siu Chun, keep an eye on Mei Yin. I'm going to see Siu Fa to see if the congee if ready," said Lok Yun. He then walked out the door.

Siu Chun giggled her way towards Mei Yin and sat on the bed along with her. They both then broke into a small laughter.

"Siu Jeh! This is really working! Now I don't have to pretend to be you in order for you to sneak out and play! You're so smart!" said Siu Chun.

"Of course! If not, how can I be your Siu Jeh? Now, I just have to slowly get better. If everything goes alright, I should be able to go outside tomorrow afternoon," said Mei Yin.

"Hopefully. You better get back to bed incase master comes back soon!" said Siu Chun while helping Mei Yin to lie in her bed. So far, so good. Mei Yin's plan has worked.

CHAPTER 12: Beginning of the Princess Lessons

    Characters:
Mok Ming Hei - Benny Chan
    Mok Tian Hau
Sima Mei Yin - Tavia Yeung

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another bright day lies in front of these four young people once again. The sun shines bright over the trees with the ever so green and glistening trees. Ming Hei was helping his father watch his stall once again. The time right now is a little passed noon.

"Ming Hei, you haven't practice your martial arts in days already, why don't you go practice now since the sun is still out?" said Tian Hau as he walked out from the room behind.

"But father, I just can not seem to fully understand Yuen Family Method (Yuan Jia Kuet). You told me that there are 9 levels, but after I practiced for all these years I am still only at 5! Father, when did you realize that you reached level 9? How did you do it?" asked Ming Hei.

Tian Hau shook his finger in front of Ming Hei. "When you practice martial arts, you can't rush, or else you wouldn't understand it fully. Practice more and you'll soon get the hang of it. After you finish calculating those things, go and practice okay?"

"Yes father," said Ming Hei as he started calculating again.

"Good," said Tian Hau as he starts to organize some things around the shelves.

"Ming Hei!" said Mei Yin as she popped out of no where in front of Ming Hei. This caused Ming Hei to jump.

"Whoa! You scared me!" said Ming Hei patting his hand on his heart to comfort himself.

"Sima Goo Leung, may I help you?" said Tian Hau.

"No thanks Mr. Yuan, I'm looking for Ming Hei," said Mei Yin.

    "Huh?" said Tian Hau confusedly.

"Umm, father, out controversy is solved. We're friends now," said Ming Hei.

"Oh! Okay, then go ahead, I won't bother you two," said Tian Hau as he walked to a room inside the store.

"What can I help you with missy?" said Ming Hei crossing his arms.

Mei Yin gave off her innocent giggle once again. "You got something you really, really need help with?" said Ming Hei.

"Yes, can Mr. Yuan Ming Hei please help me with one thing?" said Mei Yin as she walked over to the other side of the counter and tugged innocently on Ming Hei's sleeve.

"What is it?" said Ming Hei gently.

"Umm," said Mei Yin as she bit her nails.

"You can ask me. How about this? Whatever it is, I promise I'll help you with!" said Ming Hei while putting his hands bravely on his waist.

    "Really?" said Mei Yin.

"Yes, yes. What is it?" said Ming Hei placing his hands down again.

"Umm," said Mei Yin turning her body.

"Let me guess. Does it have to do with Yeung Sung?" said Ming Hei as he tilted his head curiously over Mei Yin's shoulder. Mei Yin slowly turned red and knodded her head. "I knew it!" said Ming Hei as he raised his hand into the air as a sign of victory.

Mei Yin forcefully pushed down his hand and placed her hand over his mouth. "What did you do that for? Do you want the whole world to know?" whispered Mei Yin to Ming Hei.

Ming Hei pushed her hand off. "Fine, fine, I'll be quiet," whispered Ming Hei. "I could tell from yesterday. The way you looked at him every moment gave you away. But Yeung Sung is a very handsome guy! He's good at everything, from martial arts to calligraphy to music to drawing to chess! Who wouldn't like him?"

"It's true. He's very talented. Do you think I have a chance?" said Mei Yin.

Ming Hei walked around tapping his chin. "Hmm, maybe... One problem! Yeung Sung likes girls who are gentle and mild, and likes to draw and paint, not ones who walk rudely and is very bratty and noisy," said Ming Hei.

"Do I really walk rudely and is that bratty and noisy?" wondered Mei Yin.

"Yes! If you aren't, then you wouldn't have accused me for stealing your wallet that time," said Ming Hei.

"Hey! You said to not talk about that anymore!" said Mei Yin.

"Fine, fine! Hmm, I think that incident gave Yeung Sung a bad image of yourself," said Ming Hei.

"Really, then my chance must be low now," said Mei Yin as she bit her nails. "Ming Hei!" She tugged on his sleeve. "You know you will help me." Mei Yin gave her ever so innocent smile once again.

"Uhh," said Ming Hei while sitting down on a chair. "Tell me why I should help you."

"Please Ming Hei, please. If you don't help me, I'll come here to bother you every day. Come on, please," said Mei Yin tugging on his sleeve harder, and harder. Ming Hei tried to make her loose her grip, but it did not work.

"Fine! I'll help you!" said Ming Hei finally, after he couldn't stand her begging.

"Really?! Thank you!" said Mei Yin giving him a big hug, but Ming Hei pushed her off.

"First thing, do not tug and pull people, that is not something a well taught upper class daughter should do," said Ming Hei.

"Yes teacher," said Mei Yin while giving a little bow. "Is that more ladylike?"

    "Much better," said Ming Hei.

"Can you teach me how to become a well taught upper class lady?" said Mei Yin.

"Eh..." stated Ming Hei, then he caught the glare at the corner of Mei Yin's eye. Afraid of what she'll do next, he said yes. "Fine, fine."

"Really? I'll come and find you tomorrow at noon and we can go to the river or something for me to learn. Okay?" said Mei Yin.

"We'll see, if I do not have that much work to do," said Ming Hei. Then Mei Yin skipped happily away. Ming Hei watched her as she skipped down the road like a little innocent girl, but not the type for Yeung Sung. Even so, seeing Mei Yin so eager, Ming Hei will try to do all he can. He then went back to his work. Then after he worked, he obediently listened to his father and went into the woods to practice his martial arts. Even though he's been practicing for so long, he's still only on level 5, or you may say, he's stuck on level 5 and does not know how to get farter. He's been stuck on it ever since he's 13, and by not being able to get better, he soon lost interested in practicing. Even so, him being welled trained in martial arts is the dream of his father, and he does not wish for his father to be disappointed in him. This was the only point in him practicing right now.

The next day arrived quickly with the sun over their heads. Ming Hei and Mei Yin are in trees near the river, Ming Hei starts teaching Mei Yin her princess lessons. The first thing to do is to learn how to walk right. Ming Hei made Mei Yin walk on a long log that is no wider than 4 inches, plus, it wobbles. This caused Mei Yin to have to take tiny, careful, and gentle steps to cross over.

"Head up! Don't look down! Also, put you hands on top of each other and in front of your stomach. Stand up strait too," said Ming Hei to Mei Yin as she walked.

This was difficult work for Mei Yin, and she couldn't resist, but fall.

"Ah!" said Mei Yin as she fell off. Luckily, Ming Hei was right next to her and held her back up by the hand. Mei Yin felt a tinkle in her heart.

"Are you okay? Try looking at that tree over there and not look down, it should help you focus. Okay?" said Ming Hei.

"Okay," said Mei Yin and tried again.

They have practiced for a long period of time, and they have both became quiet tired. Mei Yin had sweat drip down her face. Seeing this, Ming Hei eagerly wiped it away for her with a handkerchief. As he did so, Mei Yin looked right into his eyes, and when he saw that, he did so too. That was the time where he felt a weird feeling.

After tries after tries, and falls after falls, Mei Yin was soon able to walk gracefully on that this piece of wobbling wood. Ming Hei stood at the end of the log, and Mei Yin walked toward him. Her head was high and look into Ming Hei's eyes. Her lips gave an elegant smile. Her arms were placed neatly on top of each other and in front of her stomach. Her foot takes easy and gentle steps as she walked. One step at a time she took, carefully and easily. Finally she reached to the other side where she stepped gracefully off!

"You finally did it! Congrats!" said Ming Hei.

"Yes! Thank you Ming Hei!" said Mei Yin. She was jumping up and down with Ming Hei to celebrate their happiness, and she suddenly gave him a big hug. Ming Hei was shocked, but did not resist. His eyes turned big, but he returned her with a hug and a big smile on his face for her accomplishment. Suddenly, Mei Yin realized what she did, and let go of the hug and played with her fingers while looking down at the ground.

"Sorry," said Mei Yin looking at her shoes.

"It's okay," said Ming Hei while looking at her. "Now, you finally accomplished walking nicely, you just have to keep walking that way. Okay?"

    "Mmm," said Mei Yin.

"Also, do not yell at people as often as you do. No more threatening people with your fist either! Also, you can't talk all loud and rude; you have to talk quietly and nicely. Understand?" said Ming Hei.

"Yes," whispered Mei Yin as she bounced a little bit with her toes.

"You practiced for 4 hours already today, you should get home, or else your father will worry," said Ming Hei.

"Okay. Tomorrow at the same time for the next lesson?" asked Mei Yin innocently.

"Yup," said Ming Hei as he turned his head starting to go home.

"Bye!" said Mei Yin to his shadow. Ming Hei waived the back of his hand to her as he continued walking. Mei Yin smiled to herself. She felt a little different from before, she wonders what that odd feeling is...

As Ming Hei walked, he had the tendency to turn back to see if Mei Yin headed home yet, but he thought that would be too unmanly, so he did not. He also had a strange feeling, but can not quite realize what it was, because he has never felt it before.

CHAPTER 13: The Second Day of Princess Lessons

    Characters:
Mok Ming Hei - Benny Chan
    Mok Tian Hau
Sima Mei Yin - Tavia Yeung

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ming Hei walks back to his family medicine shop. Right there, his father saw him and walked towards him.

"Where did you go for so long? It's been four hours," said Tian Hau.

"Nowhere particular, my friend asked me to help her with something, and that took four hours," said Ming Hei as he walked to the counter, without looking at his father.

"You're not looking at me when you're talking," said Tian Hau. "Are you hiding something from me?" Tian Hau grinned at his son.

"Hiding what?" said Ming Hei confusedly.

"You know what I'm talking about," said Tian Hau. Ming Hei looked confusedly at his father. "Then who did you 'help' today?"

Ming Hei turned his back from his father. "Uhh..." started Ming Hei.

    "Mei Yin?" whispered Tian Hau.

Suddenly, Ming Hei turned around facing his father. "Father, why are you so curiously suddenly?" said Ming Hei curiously and suspiciously.

"I'm just wondering," said Tian Hau as he turned his head around. He then suddenly turned his head back to Ming Hei and said, "Do you like her?" He gave his son a weird smile and started laughing lightly and bogusly. Ming Hei looked at his father and joined in his light and bogusly laughs and suddenly stopped.

"Crazy!" said Ming Hei as he turned his head to continue working.

Tian Hau walked over to the other side of the counter to his son and said, "If I'm crazy, then my son will be crazy too. Tell me, was the person whom you 'helped' Mei Yin?"

Ming Hei stopped what he was doing and turned to his father. "You are very annoying," said Ming Hei with a grin on his face, and then returned working.

"Then tell me what happened, or else I'll continue bothering you," said Tian Hau.

Ming Hei looked at his father once again. "Yes I was helping Mei Yin but there is NOTHING between us. I've only knew her for 3 days so far!" said Ming Hei.

"Really? What were you helping her with?" said Tian Hau curiously.

"Do not tell her that I told you?" said Ming Hei while pointing his finger at him.

Tian Hau pushed his finger down. "I won't," said Tian Hau.

"That crazy little girl likes Yeung Sung, but I told her that Yeung Sung only likes gentle girls who have manners. She then asked me for help to turn her into one, that's it," said Ming Hei.

    "Really?" said Tian Hau.

    "Yes," said Ming Hei tiredly.

"If that's true then good. Ming Hei, remember that Mei Yin is an upper class person, like Yeung Sung. Do not be around her too much, or else it'll ruin her reputation and rumors about her will spread throughout the city," said Tian Hau.

"Father, you gave me this same lecture with Yeung Sung. I don't get it, can't we all be friends? Does class matters that much?" said Ming Hei.

"Just be more careful," said Tian Hau.

"I know father," said Ming Hei giving off a little grin, and returning to his work.

A new day arrives and Mei Yin skipped through the trees to meet Ming Hei for her second lesson. As she was skipping, she finally saw Ming Hei. When she saw him, she noticed how he leaned against that tree waiting for her. His eyes at that moment caught her attention and her heart started beating faster. She clenched her hands on her heart, trying to stop this feeling. After she got control of it, she started skipping towards Ming Hei again and tapped him hard on the shoulder.

    "Hey!" said Mei Yin.

"Whaa!" said Ming Hei shockingly. "How come you walked with no sound? You almost scared me to death." Ming Hei was rubbing his hands on his heart to calm himself down.

"Sorry," said Mei Yin while she placed her finger on her chin and rotating herself left and right, looking very cutely.

"It's okay. Are you ready?" said Ming Hei.

"Yes Teacher!" said Mei Yin while standing in an upright position as if she's in the army.

Ming Hei grabbed a stick from the ground and whacked her in the head with it and she quickly placed her hand on her head to rub it since it was hurting a bit. "That position is not a girl position! That is how someone who is in the army will look like. Okay?" said Ming Hei.

    "Yes," said Mei Yin softly.

"Now, show me what you learn yesterday, start from that tree and come towards me," said Ming Hei while tapping the trig in his hand.

Mei Yin the scurried to the other side. She then stood up strait, legs closer together, hands folded on top of each other in front of her stomach, and took little short steps as she walked. She also carried a sweet smile and adoring eyes as she walked down towards Ming Hei. Her face as she walked mannerly down caught Ming Hei's attention. He eyes shimmered as the bright sun shined. Her movements seemed as graceful as if the wind can carry her away. Her smile was so natural and sweet. When she reached Ming Hei, she lowered her head a little and gave a little curtsy. That look was more adoring than ever, Ming Mei was like hypnotized by it.

"How was that?" asked Mei Yin in a very tender way.

Ming Hei woke up and said, "It was very good! Almost perfect!"

"Almost? What was missing?" frowned Mei Yin.

"Now, when you walk, your head wobbled a little too much," said Ming Hei. He then bent down and took out a small rice bowl from a bag. He then held it in front of Mei Yin.

"What's that for?" said Mei Yin curiously.

"You'll see," said Ming Hei. He then went by the nearby river and scooped water inside the bowl. Mei Yin looked at this action in curiosity. "Now, while you walk, I'm going to place this bowl of water on top of your head. If you wobble too much, it'll fall and get you wet. Okay?"

"What? That's going to be so hard," whined Mei Yin.

"That's the point! Come on," said Ming Hei. Right then, he placed the water on top of Mei Yin's head, and she started to walk. Then PLOP! The water fell down and it got her sleeve wet. She looked at it in shock. Ming Hei was shocked too, but after a while, he started laughing.

"You're still laughing!" said Mei Yin. She stomped over and starting hitting him.

"Hey! Hey!" said Ming Hei, Mei Yin stopped. "That's the only way to help you walk better. If you can manage that, then you'll be able to walk perfectly."

"Does it have to be perfect? I think I walked okay before. I don't want to get wet anymore," said Mei Yin.

"Umm... Then do you want to just practice what we did yesterday again?" said Ming Hei.

"Okay! Wouldn't my head still wobble around though?" said Mei Yin.

"I have my ways. Now, get on the log," said Ming Hei.

Mei Yin then eagerly stepped on and started walking carefully, with her head still wobbling a little bit. Right then, Ming Hei took out an almond cookie and said, "Mei Yin, look!"

"Almond cookie?" said Mei Yin. She then got off the log and tried to take it from Ming Hei, but his quick hands retrieved it.

"You want to eat this?" said Ming Hei.

"Yes, I didn't eat anything this morning," said Mei Yin.

"Then walk on the log perfectly," said Ming Hei.

"I'm trying, but it's not fault if I can't do it," said Mei Yin.

"You will be able to do it! Get on the log and watch the cookie as you walk, that should keep your head strait! If you can do that, I'll give you the cookie. Okay?" said Ming Hei.

"Okay!" said Mei Yin. She then eagerly got back on the log and concentrated on the cookie as she walked. Step by step she took, with her head being stable and natural.

"You did it!" said Ming Hei.

"That's because of your cookie trick! Thank you so much!" said Mei Yin

"Just think of an almond cookie lying in front of you when you walk, that should help you," said Ming Hei.

"Okay. Thank you so much!" said Mei Yin giving him a big hug. Ming Hei did not resist, and hugged back. "Can I have the cookie now?"

"Of course," said Ming Mei. Mei Yin eagerly at the cookie, but she ate it very unmannerly.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! You have to eat with manners," said Ming Hei.

"Again? I'm hungry though!" said Mei Yin.

"Lesson 2, to eat with manners," said Ming Hei. He then set up some dishes on a nearby kiosk (Leung Ting).

"What's that for?" asked Mei Yin.

"Sit down first," said Ming Hei. Mei Yin did as told. "Now, rules to eating. Rule #1, you can only pick up food from the front of you. Rule #2, you must not use your hands; you must use your chopsticks. Rule #3, you must not make any sounds as you chew. Rule #4, you can not open your mouth widely when you place food in your mouth. MOst important is to be gentle as you eat, take your time. Okay?"

"So many rules!" said Mei Yin.

"It's not that hard, try it," said Ming Hei.

After this explanation, Mei Yin tried to eat gently and gracefully as she possibly can. Each and every time that she messed up a little bit, Ming Hei will hit her hand, causing her food to drop and her not being able to eat it. Mei Yin, who was being eagar to eat, tried harder and harder. Finally, she had a piece of food placed into her mouth. She made a disgusted face and spat it out!

"Ew! It's so salty! How can you tell me to eat this?!" shouted Mei Yin.

"Next rule, no matter how bad the food is, you can NOT spit it out like that. Even if it's bad, you have to swallow it, but then you can just not take another piece of it. Also, you can NOT yell and scream just because the food it bad. Understand?" said Ming Hei.

"Yes, but how can I continue if the food is bad?" said Mei Yin.

"Now that, you don't have to worry about," said Ming Hei. He then exchanged the plates of food with some more tasty looking ones. "Now THESE are real food, I just wanted you to practice with those first so you know how to react when they tast bad."

Mei Yin gracefully placed a piece of the food into her mouth and said, "Now THIS is real food."

"Good, take your time and practice. Next after this, we have one more lesson before the day ends," said Mng Hei.

While Mei Yin practiced eating gracefully, Ming Hei was boiling some water he got from the river. Mei Yin watched his seriousness as he watched the fire. She laughed when he accidently burnt his finger and was reacting so dramatic to it. Soon, she finished all the food and Ming Hei brought a pot of hot water to the table.

"What's that for?" asked Mei Yin.

"You'll see, clean up the table first," said Ming Hei. Together, they cleaned the plates and chopsticks and then Ming Hei brought out a teapot and a few cups. "Lesson 3: being able to make tea in a graceful way."

"Tea? I know how to make that already. When my mother was alive, taught me a special way to make Dragon's Well so that it's taste will be the utmost," said Mei Yin.

"Really? Show me how that way then, and see what you got," said Ming Hei. He took out some tea from his bag. "Here is some Dragon's Well."

Mei Yin sniffed the tea and said, "This is not the grade 1 Dragon's Well, but it'll do. Get me some cold water from the water first, please." Ming Hei did as told. She then poured the hot water into the teapot and then swirled it around. She then poured it into a cup and swirled the water around too, and then poured it out into another cup. All of this was done so gracefully.

"Why are you pouring the water around?" asked Ming Hei ever so curiously when he returned.

"I'm not, that water was just to make the cup warm," said Mei Yin. She then placed a few pieces of Dragon's Well into that cup and then poured the cold water, and hot water into that cup at the same time. As she did this, Ming Hei looked at her graceful motions with admiration. "This way of making tea is called Yin and Yang. This way, when the cold and warm rushes together, it breaks through the tea leaves and brings its best taste out," said Mei Yin.

"The lesson of being able to make tea gracefully is passed already now, but I don't know if it really tastes good," said Ming Hei.

"Try some then," said Mei Yin softly while handing him the cup.

Ming Hei looked at her eagarness and then at the cup of tea. He then drank ti slowly. The rush of Dragon's Well ran down his throat, unlike any other Dragon's Well he has ever tasted!

"This is delicious!" said Ming Hei.

"I told you!" said Mei Yin giving off a little smile.

"Yes, yes, you were right. Level 3: passed," said Ming Hei. Mei Yin softly clapped her hands happily. "Now, today's lesson is over. Remember, when you walk, pretend that there is an almond cookie in front of you. When you eat, remember your manners and what to do with the food even if it's bad. Remember how graceful you have to be when you make tea. Okay?" said Ming Hei.

    "Yes," said Mei Yin.

"Do you play any instruments?" asked Ming Hei.

"Yes, I play the piano. Why?" asked Mei Yin.

"You'll see. Bring your piano tomorrow, okay?" said Ming Hei.

    "Alright," said Mei Yin.

    "Then, bye," said Ming Hei.

"Bye," said Mei Yin. She turned around and walked home gracefully. Ming Hei stared at her path as she walked. He felt that odd feeling once again.

    CHAPTER 14: Some Accomplishments

    Characters:
Sima Mei Yin - Tavia Yeung
    Siu Chun
    Sima Lok Yun

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mei Yin walked into her house gracefully and carefully and that was when Siu Chun walked by. She felt that the way Mei Yin was today was different from how she is usually.

"Siu Jeh, are you okay?" asked Siu Chun nervously.

"Of course I am. What is wrong with me?" said Mei Yin.

"You seem a little different," said Siu Chun.

"You noticed it too?" smiled Mei Yin.

"You, you, you are walking so mannerly today! You usually just pounce around but today, you seem so graceful! Are you sick?" said Siu Chun while placing her hand on Mei Yin's forehead, but Mei Yin backed up from it.

"Of course I'm not sick," said Mei Yin as she walked into her bedroom. Siu Chun followed.

"Then you must like someone! Am I right?" teased Siu Chun.

"How do you know?" said Mei Yin surprisingly.

"A women changes because of three reasons: One, she is doing it for money. Two, she is really sick. Three, she is changing herself for a man. Am I right, Siu Jeh?" teased Siu Chun while bumping Mei Yin's shoulder.

    "Yes," said Mei Yin shyly.

"Hmm... and who may that person be? Who has the power to change our Sima Siu Jeh so much?" asked Siu Chun curiously.

"Why should I tell you?" smiled Mei Yin.

"Come on, you know you want to tell me," smiled Siu Chun. Mei Yin then skipped towards her bed. "Is it because of Yeung Sung?"

"How do you know?" said Mei Yin.

"That other day, you said that you liked him so I assumed, and I guess I'm right!" said Siu Chun.

"Yes, yes, you are right. Don't tell anyone!" said Mei Yin.

"I will never! By the way, you shouldn't be able to teach yourself to be mannerly and graceful, who taught you?" asked Siu Chun.

"You know Ming Hei, he and Yeung Sung are great friends, so I asked him for help," said Mei Yin.

"Him? You aren't afraid that he'll trick you or something because of that controversy at the Goon Fu?" asked Siu Chun.

"Of course no! He's a good friend. He's very forgivable to things like that. Besides, he's rather cute and serious at times," said Mei Yin dreamly.

"Are you after him instead of Yeung Sung now, Siu Jeh?" asked Siu Chun.

"Of course not!" said Mei Yin. "Umm... it's almost time for dinner, hurry and go help in the kitcken!" Mei Yin slowly pushed Siu Chun out the door.

    "One problem" said Siu Chun.

    "What?" asked Mei Yin.

"Remember Master's arranged marriage for you with another family in this city?" said Siu Chun.

"Siu Chun, you know I do not listen to what father says. I have never agreed to the marriage and I have never seen that guy, why would I want to marry him? What if he's some kind of pervert? I don't even know his name!" said Mei Yin.

"But it's Master's words," said Siu Chun.

"Don't worry about it, when they come over for dinner, I'll find a way to take care of them. I'll show that family how unmannerly and stupid I am and they'll not want me as their daughert-in-law!" smiled Mei Yin.

"But Master will be mad, and by the way, you are trying to be mannerly now, how can you suddenly turn very unmannerly?" asked Siu Chun.

"Uhh... It'll work. It not, I'll just pretend to be sick with a disease that will spread whenever they come. It'd work. Now, hurry and go help in the kitchen! You wouldn't want me to starve will you?" smiled Mei Yin.

"Fine, fine," grinned Siu Chun as she closed the doors of Mei Yin's room.

Mei Yin smiled to herself and then dug her piano out from her closet and cleaned it for tomorrow.

Soon it was dinner time and Mei Yin walked gracefully into the dining room.

    "Father," said Mei Yin politely.

"Mmm. Sit down and eat, Mei Yin," said Lok Yun.

"Yes, father," said Mei Yin politely.

As they began to eat, Lok Yun looked at his daughter oddly, because she was eating to mannerly and gracefully. Usually, she will just stuff the food in her mouth while making a lot of sounds.

"Mei Yin, are you okay?" said Lok Yun.

"I'm okay. What's wrong father?" asked Mei Yin.

"You see very different today," said Lok Yun.

    "Really?" said Mei Yin.

"You usually just stuff the food in your mouth, why are you eating so—so—so mannerly today?" asked Lok Yun in surprise.

"Do you not like me eating this way?" asked Mei Yin.

"Of course no!" said Lok Yun.

"Then everything is good," said Mei Yin.

"Yes. Very good too," smiled Lok Yun. Mei Yin is finally growing up. thought Lok Yun happily.

"Father, would you like me to make you some tea after we eat? It's good for digestion," said Mei Yin softly.

"Of course! I haven't tasted your tea in a long time," said Lok Yun.

So after they ate, Mei Yin prepared his father some tea, Yin and Yang style. Lok Yung watched as his daughter prepared it. She really looks like her mother as she does this. thought Lok Yun.

"Father," said Mei Yin as she handed her father the cup, who dranked it eagerly.

"This tastes exactly like the way your mother prepares it. Mei Yin, you are growing up, father is very happy for you," said Lok Yun. Mei Yin gave her father a smile. She was very happy of her accomplishments.

CHAPTER 15: The Last Day of Princess Lessons

    Characters:
Mok Ming Hei - Benny Chan
Sima Mei Yin - Tavia Yeung
    Mok Tian Hau
    Mok Fung

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day arrived soon and Mei Yin walked with her piano through the forest to meet Ming Hei for her next lesson. The piano was quite heavy, so she was sort of limping as she struggled to carry it. She got tired and palced the piano down. Then she swiped the sweat dripping down her forehead with her sleeve. When she looked up, she realized that Ming Hei was just a matter of about 60 feet from her. Eagarly, she picked up her piano and went up to Ming Hei, who was leaning against a tree playing with his jade amulet.

"Ming Hei!" said Mei Yin as she lugged her piano along. Ming Hei saw her difficulty as she lifted the piano and rushed to help her.

"Dang! Are all pianos this big? You going to kill yourself carrying this," said Ming Hei while carrying the piano for her until they reached the kiosk (Leung Ting).

"Did you not see a piano before?" asked Mei Yin curiously.

"Uh... nope. All I know is the flute, no piano. I've play this thing since I was very little," said Ming Hei while taking his flute out.

"That's so pretty!" said Mei Yin as she examined the elaborately designed wooden flute of Ming Hei's.

"This is nothing. You should see the one my dad possesses. Its delicate design of its high quality wood brings out the music notes in harmony. When I listen to him plays it, I feel like I'm in a totally different world! But somehow, he give same music sheets that he plays, but when I play it on my flute, it doesn't sound as good as his," said Ming Hei.

"You make me want to hear your dad play too. But don't worry, I'm sure you still play an awesome job!" encouranged Mei Yin.

Ming Hei gave her a faint smile. "Okay, enugh chit-chat. Today's lesson shall officially start. Now, you know how upper class people are supposed to be very mannerly and know these four things: music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. All the upper class women and men I heard of or know of are experts at these things. One example is yeung Sung."

"Music, chess, calligraphy, and painting are not that hard. My father has trained me in those things since my birth," said Mei Yin.

"Then why are you here for lessons?" said Ming Hei with a teasing smile.

"Does knowing the music, chess, calligraphy, and painting have to deal with manners? I don't think so," replied Mei Yin with a winning grin.

"Uhh... you win, you win," said Ming Hei.

"By the way, Yeung Sung plays the piano?" asked Mei Yin.

"No, he plays the flute like me, but it doesn't matter! Flute, piano, they are both instruments. Okay?" said Ming Hei.

    "Okee..." said Mei Yin.

"Now, let's see your piano skills missy," said Ming Hei with his arms crossed.

Mei Yin gave a smile showing her surety and sat down by her piano. One note at a time she plucked on the strings. A graceful tune soon filled the air. Ming Hei was surprised by her ability and beauty that she has as she played. That gracious tune she was playing soon became a mad but very enjoyable tune stunning Ming Hei's ears. That marvelous and fast combination of notes flourished while bring music to his ears. That tune then ended with a single C note. Ming Hei couldn't resist but to clap wildly.

"That was beautiful! Hmm, I never thought that such a bratty lady like you can bring out such a harmonious tune," teased Ming Hei.

"Are you underestimating me?" said Mei Yin with a glare in her eyes.

"No, I won't dare! I just would have never thought you can play such a tune, judging from your everyday appearance," said Ming Hei.

"Oh, then my impression of you is a crazy little carefree and innocent boy. I don't think YOU can play such a tune," said Mei Yin doubtfully.

"Ha! Are you kidding me?" said Ming Hei.

"Show me," said Mei Yin with HER hands crossed with doubt.

Ming Hei pointed his hands at her and gave her his bold and adoring set of eyes, causing Mei Yin heart to pump once more. "Watch me perform," said Ming Hei.

He then sat on a nearby log with his right leg up and his back leaning against a tree. He placed his flute by his lips and a slow but harmonious tune soon emerged. Mei Yin’s eyes widen in astonishment as the beautiful tune flowed into her ears. The slow tune soon emerged into a faster tune that made Mei yin feel like she's in another world. Amazed by the tune, she stepped by her piano and played her piano to the tune of Ming Hei's notes. Ming Hei glanced at her in the corner of his eyes and continued playing. The beautiful combination of the flute and piano flourished into the air, even the birds wanted to join in! Soon, they ended their tunes and walked towards each other.

"Hmm... I would have never thought that you will be able to play such a harmonious tune," said Mei Yin pleasingly.

"You were bad either, being able to play a combination with my tune," said Ming Hei gratifyingly to her. Mei Yin then gave a small laugh. That face she holds at that moment was a face for Ming Hei to remember. "Okay. Now, you are good with piano. Next thing on our list is chess playing. How are you with that?"

"My father is a salesman with people of government and when he goes out to discuss about this things, he spends time playing chess with them, so I do know something about chess," said Mei Yin.

"Really? Okay, we can skip that then," said Ming Hei.

"What? Why? Yeung Sung's father is a general, causing Yeung Sung to know all about the ways of chess since the game is like fighting out there in the fields," said Mei Yin.

"This will give you a good opportunity to have him teach you how to play chess then," said Ming Hei.

"But I want to impress him! Please Ming Hei, teach me some skills of it!" whinned Mei Yin.

"Uh--- you'll be fine with what you know," said Ming Hei.

"No, why won't you teach me?" asked Mei Yin in curiosity.

"Actually, I suck at playing chess," laughed Ming Hei.

"What?" said Mei Yin in surprise.

"Yeah, I am very bad at it. When I played against Yeung Sung, he told me that I am not malevolent enough. To be in the army, you have to be maleveolent enough in order to survive. He said that chess is like fighting in the fields, and that I was too kind and will never be able to lead an army," said Ming Hei.

"And you were trying to teach me how to play chess..." grunted Mei Yin.

"Don't say that! I never said I was going to teach you how to play chess, that is why I said I wasn't going to teach you and what you know is good enough," joked Ming Hei. Mei Yin gave off an unpleased grin. “Don’t be sad about that, this gives Yeung Sung a chance to teach you!” said Ming Hei.

    "I guess," said Mei Yin.

"Good! Now, next thing on our list: calligraphy. You said you can do this earlier, didn’t you?" said Ming Hei

    "Of course!" said Mei Yin.

Ming Hei took out a roll of paper, a calligraphy pen, and ink stick out at the kiosk place. He then gently grinded the ink stick into the water in a plesant manner. Mei Yin stared at this concentration and again, her heart beat, but she did not understand why.

"Okay! The ink is ready. Show me what you got. Umm, write a random poem you like and see how pretty your calligraphy is," said Ming Hei.

"Alright," said Mei Yin as she lifted the pen. She then gracefully wrote down elegant characters on the piece of paper. Her concentration and mildness as she wrote was undescribable. Ming Hei watched her write the words as if they easily flowed out of her hands. "Done!" said Mei Yin.

"Let's see," said Ming Hei while walking over. He watched the beautiful strokes of each word she wrote in amazement. "Your calligraphy is beautiful, as if they were written by an angle," said Ming Hei softly in astonishment.

    "Thank you," said Mei Yin.

Ming Hei looked at the words once again and realized it was a similar poem which he has seen before. "Sum Yau Ling Sai, Yut Dim Tong?" said Ming Hei.

    "What's wrong?" asked Mei Yin.

"This verse seems so familiar. I heard this before, I just don’t know where," said Ming Hei.

"It's just a common poem, nothing special. It's not a surprise if you heard it before," said Mei Yin.

"True," said Ming Hei. "I remember! This is the exact saying on my dad's fan. He also has a poster with this verse on it that hangs on my room. He said that it will help me with my martial arts in some sort of way"

"Help you with martial arts? It's just a verse! How can it do so?" said Mei Yin.

"I have no idea, oh well. Okay, your calligraphy is beautiful. So, it leaves us to painting!" said Ming Hei. He then took out another scroll of paper and spread it across the table. Then he reached for some other ink colors and grinded them all for Mei Yin's pleasure to choose her colors as she begins. "Help yourself, when you are done, tell me and I'll see."

"Alright," said Mei Yin. "What should I draw then?"

"Um, Yeung Sung likes flowers," suggested Ming Hei. Mei Yin gave him a smile and started her work. She fainted fast and accurate, but graceful at the same time. 'How can a girl so skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting can be so cute and innocent at the same time?' wondered Ming Hei as he watched Mei Yin show off her artistic skills.

After a little while, Mei Yin placed down her brush. "Done!"

"Let me see," said Ming Hei as he walked over from sitting under the tree. He lifted up the piece of paper and the view of the painting overwhelmed him. The painting consists of at least a hundred colorful and real flowers and butterflies sititng on top of them while the sun shined through the white cloud of the sky blue day.

"This is beautiful," whispered Ming Hei.

"Really? I told you I'm an expert at music, chess, calligraphy, and painting!” said Mei Yin happily.

"If you're so talented in all those things, I do not understand why you are still so sassy and stubborn," said Ming Hei.

"Hey! I'm learning," said Mei Yin.

"Okay, fine. Now, you are good in all ways. The only problem is manners. Just remember that there is an almond cookie in front of you when you walk, and to take small careful steps! When you eat, remember to take small bites and what to do with the food even if it's bad. Just remember to be graceful and do everything slowly. Rememebr to not talk loud or yell at people either," said Ming Hei.

"Okay," said Mei Yin. "Okay, so now I'm done learning, can I be a little unmannerly for a while?" Mei Yin gave off an evil grin.

"What do you want to do?" said Ming Hei, feeling a little threatened.

"I've been trying to be very mannerly for the last few days, and to be that, I can’t move that often. Now my back hurts so much from that. I want to... challenge you to martial arts!" said Mei Yin.

"Martial arts? My martial arts suck madly! If you want a challenger, go find Yeung Sung!" said Ming Hei.

"Are you saying that I suck at it very much? Remember when you beat me last time? You mean I suck at it too?" said Mei Yin sadly.

"No no! I do not mean that! My dad doesn't like me having fights," said Ming Hei.

"It's not a fight, it's a challenge, come on!" begged Mei Yin.

"No way! My dad got really mad at the controversy last time! I don’t want anything else to happen," said Ming Hei.

"Too bad!" said Mei Yin as she took out her nine section whip and aimed it towards Ming Hei. Luckily, he tilted his body and was able to block it.

"You brought you nine section whip today?!" said Ming Hei. Mei Yin whipped her whip once again, and Ming Hei dodged it. "Mei Yin! Stop!"

"Come on! Challenge me!" said Mei Yin. She continued flicking her whip, and Ming Hei dodged ever single one. "Attack!" screamed Mei Yin.

She then whipped her whip once more, Ming Hei dodged it, but then she wiggled her whip and it whacked right into Ming Hei's right arm, causing him to fall down. Mei Yin, astound by what she did, rushed to him and helped him up. "Are you okay Ming Hei?"

"I'm fine, it's just a bruise," said Ming Hei.

"Why didn't you attack?" asked Mei Yin.

"I don't want to get my dad mad anymore. I hardly see him happy anymore, I don't want to see get more mad," said Ming Hei.

"You're too filial," said Mei Yin. "Let me see your bruise." Mei Yin tried to lift his sleeve up to see, but Ming Hei resisted.

"It's okay, I'm fine. It's getting late, you should get home," said Ming Hei.

"But you arm---" started Mei Yin.

"It's okay. Oh yeah, Yeung Sung, Siu Lan, and I are doing to the local temple tomorrow. If you are coming along, meet us at the Chai Ming Lau (Colorful Life Restaurant) tomorrow at noon," said Ming Hei.

"I'll be there for sure!" said Mei Yin.

"Then, bye," said Ming Hei as he walked away.

"Bye," said Mei Yin. She then played with her fingers. She felt bad that her stubbornness has injured Ming Hei. Also, she realized that her feelings for Yeung Sung was not as strong s they were a few days ago.

'What has interfered?' thought Mei Yin. 'How come, I feel so secure when I’m around Ming Hei. The image of him in my head seems to be clearer than Yeung Sung’s. Who am I kidding? It's just that I haven’t seen Yeung Sung for a few days. Everything will be fine.' After comforting herself, she skipped her way home.

Ming Hei walked down the streets and into her family's medincine shop, where his dad was at the counter.

    "Father," said Ming Hei.

    "Back son?" said Tian Hau.

    "Yes," said Ming Hei.

"Can you help me get the medinine that is drying in the back? They should be dried now," said Tian Hau.

"Alrght father, give me a few minutes, I have to do something first," said Ming Hei.

    "Alright," said Tian Hau.

Ming Hei then went inside and into his room, carrying a bottle of healing oil in his hand. He sat down and took off his top and then examined his bruise on his hand. It was worst than he had thought. Then he tried to rub his bruise with his left hand, but it was difficult. At that moment, his mother passed by and saw his bruise. She gasped in shock.

"Ming Hei! What happened?" said Ah Fung as she entered.

Ming Hei placed his finger on his lipsas as a sign for his mother to be quiet. "I hurt myself when I went out today; it's just a bruise, nothing bad. Don't tell dad, or else hell make a big deal about it and ask me all about it," said Ming Hei.

"I won't tell him. Here, let me help you," said Ah Fung as she got some oil and rubbed it on Ming Hei's bruise.

    "Thanks mother," said Ming Hei.

"We're a family, no need to say things like that," said Ah Fung. "How did you hurt yourself?"

"Oh, nothing. Someone in the streets accidently whacked me in the arm with a stick," said Ming Hei.

"I see," said Ah Fung as she helped his son rubbed hisbruise.

That night, Mei Yin couldn't sleep. She was scared about tomorrow's meet and what Yeung Sung will think about her. That was when she had a dream...

She was surrounded by a beautiful land with butterflies and flowers all around. There, she was dancing around in happiness. Just then, she heard someone playing the flute, and the tune sounded so familiar. She walked towards the tune's direction and saw a man’s back as he played the flute.

"Who is it?" asked Mei Yin. The man did not answer and continued to play the flute. "Is it Yeung Sung?" The man still never answered. Mei Yin walked closer, and the man suddently turned around. It was Ming Hei! "Ming Hei?" whispered Mei Yin. Just then, the image of Ming Hei faded away as a gust of wind blew by and Mei Yin was left in the fields by herself, while shouting Ming Hei's name out.

Mei Yin jolted up from her dream. "What kind of dream was that? Why am I dreaming of Ming Hei? It was so strange... Eh, don't think about it Mei Yin, a bright day shine stomorrow," said Mei Yin to herself as she went back to sleep.

    CHAPTER 16: The Temple

    Characters:
Mok Ming Hei - Benny Chan
Zhu Yeung Sung - Michael Tong
Tong Siu Lan - Leila Tong
Sima Mei Yin - Tavia Yeung
    Minors:
    Waiter
Cheem Explainer (The people to tell you about a certain thing after you get a stick [a cheem] with a numberfrom shaking that can) <-- He actual name is Fong Ying Fung.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeung Sung picks up a cup of tea and starred out at the streets, waitng for Ming Hei, Siu Lan, and Mei Yin's arrival. BAM! He heard a big bam behind him and quickly turned his head. It was Ming Hei, he had tripped over a chair and landed on his face.

"Gong Zi! Are you okay?" said the waitress while helping him up.

"I'm okay, thank you," said Ming Hei. He realized that Yeung Sung was looking at him with a smile on his face, laughing at his clumsyness. Ming Hei rushed over to him and whacked him in the head with his hand. "What's so funny?"

"You," said Yeung Sung laughing again. "Hmm, why are you always so clumsy?" teased Yeung Sung.

"Haha, very funny," said Ming Hei.

"Ming Hei! Yeung Sung!" said Siu Lan as she came to the table, seeing yeung Sung laughing and Ming Hei looking a little mad. "What's so funny?"

"Ask Ming Hei," said Yeung Sung.

"Uh... I tripped when I walked in," said Ming Hei softly.

"Again!? Ming Hei, you are so clumsy," teased Siu Lan.

Ming Hei reached across the table and hit Siu Lan in the head. "Still laughing?" said Ming Hei.

"Yes," said Siu Lan with a big smile on her face.

"Aiy..." said Ming Hei while placing his head on the table.

"By the way, is Mei Yin coming along with us today?" asked Yeung Sung.

"I don't know, Ming Hei, is she?" asked Siu Lan. Ming Hei did not hear, his head was still on the table. Yeung Sung then stepped on his foot.

"Ouch! Hey! Are you tyring to kill me?" said Ming Hei.

"Siu Lan asked you, is Mei Yin coming with us today?" said Yeung Sung.

"She said she will be, wait a little longer for her," said Ming Hei as he picked up a cup of tea to drink.

Just then, up the stairs walked in Mei Yin, dressed very elegantly and walking very ladylike to their table. When she saw Yeung Sung this time, her heart didn't pound like last time. Was it that she was able to control herself this time or is it that she has no more feelings for him?

"Yeung Sung, Ming Hei, Siu Lan," said Mei Yin softly. This caused Ming Hei to spit his tea out.

"Are you okay Ming Hei?" said Yeung Sung as he patted him on the back.

"It's okay. I'm—I'm fine," said Ming Hei.

"Sit Mei Yin," said Siu Lan.

"Hmm... you look different today Mei Yin," said Yeung Sung.

    "Really?" said Mei Yin happily.

"Of course! She is more elegant today, and she is not as bratty and rude as she used to be," said Ming Hei. Mei Yin then gave him a big pinch on the arm. "Ouch!"

"What's wrong Ming Hei?" said Siu Lan. Just there, Mei Yin gave him an evil eye.

"Uh... nothing, a mosquito just bit me," said Ming Hei as he rubbed his arm that Mei Yin pinched.

"Mei Yin, the pearls in your hair looks very nice," said Yeung Sung.

"Thank you. By the way, what are we doing today?" asked Mei Yin softly.

"I told you yesterday, we're going to the temple! Do you have short term memory?" asked Ming Hei. Mei Yin gaveh im another glare and Ming Hei became quiet afterwards.

"Ignore Ming Hei, he's always like that. He treats girls as if they were boys," said Siu Lan.

"Whoa, don't say that! You're crazy," said Ming Hei.

"All right you two. Hurry up and eat, then we can go to the temple," said Yeung Sung.

So they all began to eat, with Ming Hei making memorable moments in between. Mei Yin was eating very gracefully, but Yeung Sung does not seem to notice.

Down the street these four walked, with Ming Hei pouncing around like a little kid of course.

"Ming Hei! You're making me dizzy, can't you walk normal and elegant like Mei Yin for once?" teased Yeung Sung.

"HER elegant? Are you okay Yeung Sung?" said Ming Hei.

"Yes, the other day Mei Yin doesn't seem so but today she is. You can't judge someone from knowing them for a few days," said Yeung Sung.

    "Really..." said Ming Hei doubtingly.

"Mei Yin, can I talk to you?" said Siu Lan.

"Sure," said Mei Yin. So Yeung Sung walked a little ahead of them with Ming Hei, as Ming Hei and Yeung Sung had their own conversation, Siu Lan and Mei Yin had theirs.

"You seem so different," said Siu Lan.

    "I know," said Mei Yin.

"You were like a totally different person before, it's impossible to have you change so much suddenly. If you consider me a friend, you know you want to tell me why," smiled Siu Lan. Mei Yin was quiet. "Even if you don't tell me, I can tell."

    "You can?" said Mei Yin.

"Is it because of Yeung Sung?"” said Siu Lan.

"How did you know?" said Mei Yin curiously.

"The other day, you tried to talk to him as much as you can. By that action and the way you look at him, Ming Hei and I already knew that you have feelings for him. Only Yeung Sung doesn't know. He's known for his talents in martial arts, calligraphy, music, painting, and many other things, but the one thing he's not know for is to know the feeling's of a girl's heart. He and Ming Hei both seem to treat girls as if they were boys. Ming Hei may seem not as talented and gentleman as Yeung Sung, but he's also very talented, only that he doesn't show it," said Siu Lan.

"Was I that obvious?" said Mei Yin.

"Not that obvious that Yeung Sung knows about," said Siu Lan.

"How long have you known Yeung Sung and Ming Hei?" asked Mei Yin.

"I knew Ming Hei since I was born! His family and my family were friends from a long time ago. We met Yeung Sung one day when we were about 10. Ming Hei and I were catching fish with our hands in the river and then we saw Yeung Sung on the river side playing his flute. Ming Hei was curious about him and walked over. His nonchalant and brave behavior made the three of us great friends ever since," said Siu Lan.

"Siu Lan, do you like Ming Hei?" asked Mei Yin all of a sudden.

Siu Lan's face glowed red. "Why do you say that? You don't think I like him do you?"

"You're getting red," teased Mei Yin.

"It's... it's this hot weather! Why would I like him? He's like a crazy little boy who does not watch where is is going," said Siu Lan nervously. From that, Mei Yin just smiled to herself.

At the temple, flower covered the areas, releasing a beautiful and pleasant smell. The temple covers a large area. It has many beautifully designed buildings and many kiosks (Leung Ting) around the place. There are also many ponds where people stand by and watch the fishes inside it. It can be called a peaceful place to spend a day at.

Ming Hei stepped into a flower bed and pulled out a pretty pink orchid.

"What are you doing Ming Hei?" asked Siu Lan in curiosity.

Just then, Ming Hei handed her the flower. "Here!" said Ming Hei.

"For... for me?" said Siu Lan surprisingly as she reached out her hand to take the flower.

"Ming Hei! You are being so selfish. You gave a flower to Siu Lan but not Mei Yin?" teased Yeung Sung.

"She's not cripple, she can get one if she likes," said Ming Hei.

"Are you saying that I'm cripple?" said Siu Lan jokingly.

Ming Hei opened his mouth and lifted his hand as if he was going to reply to that question, but he didn't kow what to say.

"Mei Yin, don't worry! If Ming Hei doesn't get you a flower I will then," teased Yeung Sung as he walked into the flower bed and picked out a pretty white orchid and handed it to Mei Yin.

"Thank you," said Mei Yin softly. Somehow, she did not feel special for receiving this flower, but why?

"Let's go inside the temple and make a wish and ask for a good cheem (Those sticks with a number on that you shake out of a bottle and ask about health, family, etc.)" said Siu Lan.

So together they went inside and make their own wished and got their own cheem. One at a time, they went to the person who explains the cheem. First, it was Mei Yin who went up.

"What would you like to ask miss?" said the explainer.

    "Love please," said Mei Yin.

"Hmm... It seems like you are having some trouble with it right?" said the explainer.

    "What trouble?" said Mei Yin.

"From what your cheem said and your face, I can tell that you do not love the one who you think you love. The one whom you really love is someone else besides you," said the explainer.

"How can that be? Are you kidding me? You are so not accurate," said Mei Yin as she placed some money down on the table and left.

"Wait young lady! Wait! Your real love will also be the one who leads to your death!" said the explainer, but Mei Yin has already stepped outside and did not hear him.

Next, Yeung Sung stepped up to the explainer.

    "Family please," said Yeung Sung.

"Are you sure? I can tell by your face that your family holds great success and that there is nothing else for you to worry about. This is a good cheem to ask about love," suggested the explainer.

"Then... okay. Ask about love then," said Yeung Sung.

"From what this cheem says, it said that your love will not appear until you hold success like your father and previous generations do. You'll have a while to wait," said the explainer.

"It doesn't matter. I'm not in a rush to marry yet. I always wanted to have success before I have a family so it's all good. Thank you," said Yeung Sung as he gave the young man some money and left.

Siu Lan then went up to the explainer.

"Do you want to ask about love my dear?" said the explainer.

"How do you know?" said Siu Lan in surprise.

The old man just laughed. "Well, from this cheem, it seems like you have a person in mind don't you?"

    "Yes," said Siu Lan softly.

"That person will be your prince, but there will be obstacles in between before you two can get together. Even though, I suggest that you will stay away from this person," said the explainer.

"Stay away? Why?" said the explainer.

"That person whom you love will result to your death," said the explainer.

"You must be lying. That can't be true. Thank you," said Siu Lan as she placed some money down for the person and left.

Right then, Ming Hei was walking around the temple, poking at various spots that seem pokable. That was when the explainer noticed him.

"Mister, would you like to sit down and let me tell you two things? For free," said the explainer.

"No it's okay. I don't believe in those things," said Ming Hei.

"Are you sure? It's free," said the explainer.

Just them, Ming Hei walked over. "It's okay; I know you are trying to find two meals. Thanks for the thought." Ming Hei then left some money on the table and went outside to meet up with his friends.

The explainer then nodded his head. 'People these days, they do not believe what a semi-god says.' thought the explainer. He walked away with his stall and suddenly disappeared into the fog...

"Did you get a good cheem, Ming Hei?" asked Siu Lan.

"You know I don't believe in faith and all those stuff. While you guys were al doing that, I was just walking around," said Ming Hei.

"It's better to believe than to not believe (Chinese saying: ling haw seun kei yaw, but haw seun kei mo)," said Yeung Sung.

"Don't be so superstitious," said Ming Hei. "At the pond at the other side, the goldfishes are very big. Let's go see them!"

So they all went over to see the goldfishes.

CHAPTER 17: Appearence of Duen Shun

    Characters:
Mok Ming Hei - Benny Chan
Tong Siu Lan - Leila Tong
Sima Mei Yin - Tavia Yeung
Zhu Yeung Sung - Michael Tong
Duen Shun - unassigned - a strange man at the age of 40 who is a Martial World Person who knows extreme martial arts and desires the Ching Sum Kuet

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Wow! These goldfishes are very big and pretty!” said Mei Yin as she walked next to Ming Hei.

“Pretty for goldfishes, not human though. If a human has big eyes like that, they’ll look so ugly! Look at that fish! It’s so bossy! Did you see it shove the little fishes?” said Ming Hei.

    “Yeah,” said Mei Yin.

“That sort of seems like you, sassy and bossy,” teased Ming Hei.

“Really...?” said Mei Yin softly but madly.

“Of course!” said Ming Hei as he leaned over the bridge more to see the fishes. Just then, Mei Yin pushed him on the back, causing him to tip over the bridge.

    “Ahh!!!" screamed Ming Hei.

Just then, Siu Lan and Yeung Sung walked over.

    “What happened?” said Yeung Sung.

“Nothing much, Ming Hei just dropped into the waters,” said Mei Yin nonchalantly.

“Help! Help!” screamed Ming Hei and he flapped his arms around.

“He doesn’t know how to swim!” screamed Siu Lan.

    “What?!” said Mei Yin.

Just as Yeung Sung ws about to jump into the pond to get him out, something odd happened. As Ming Hei wobbled around and flapped his hands. The water seemed to be lifting him on top of the water and pushed him to shore. Mei Yin, Siu Lan, and Yeung Sung were surprised by this scene. At the other side of the pond, there was a man at around the age of about 40 watching this miraculous and strange act that happened to Ming Hei.

“Ming Hei! Are you okay?” said Yeung Sung after he pulled Ming Hei out of the shoreline. Ming Hei gave a couple of coughs and spat out some water.

“I’m--- *cough* fine. *cough*,” said Ming Hei.

“Why are you so clumsy? How did you fall into the pond?” said Siu Lan.

“It’s all Mei Yin’s fault! She pushed me into it!” said Ming Hei as he tried to regain his breath.

“Mei Yin? Why did you have to do that?” said Siu Lan.

“How am I supposed to know that you don’t know how to swim? You’re a grown person who knows how to play the flute, knows about medicine, and knows martial arts! How am I supposed to know that you can’t swim?” said Mei Yin.

“Is not knowing how to swim a crime?” said Ming Hei.

“Even if you don’t know that Ming Hei doesn’t know how to swim, why did you push him in the river?” said Yeung Sung.

“I was just playing! Who told him to have a bad mouth and always argue with me?” said Mei Yin.

“That’s true. Ming Hei, respect others more,” teased Yeung Sung.

“Hey! I’m the one who almost died! You are helping her and not me?” said Ming Hei innocently.

“She’s a girl,” said Yeung Sung.

“By the way, how did you make that water bring you to shore?” said Siu Lan curiously.

“Make the water what? What are you talking about?” said Ming Hei.

“When you were in the water, it looked like the water lifted you up and pushed you to shore. Did you do that?” said Siu Lan.

“Me? I was almost drowned! Besides, why would I be able to do that?” said Ming Hei.

Just then, the man who was standing at the other side of the pong came towards them.

“Are you okay Mister?” said the man.

“Who are you?” asked Ming Hei.

“I’m Duen Shun,” said the man.

“Duen Shun? I don’t think I know you,” said Ming Hei.

“You don’t. I have one question for you. Is your surname Mok?” asked Duen Shun.

“No, my surname is Yuen. Why do you ask Mr. Duen?” said Ming Hei curiosly.

“Oh, I had a friend from long ago who bared the last name of Mok,” said Duen Shun.

“Does he look like me?” said Ming Hei.

“Crazy! Mr. Duen is at least 40! How can his friend look like you?” said Mei Yin while poking his head.

“He looked like you when he was younger. Then can I ask you about something else? Do you know anyone named Mok Tian Hau, the one who holds the powerful Ching Sum Kuet?” said Duen Shun.

“Never heard of him,” said Ming Hei.

“What? You never heard of him?” said Siu Lan.

“He’s a famous person in the Martial World! How can you not know about him Ming Hei?” said Yeung Sung.

“My dad does not want me to know about the Martial World stuff. He said that it has to many revenges and grief in it,” said Ming Hei.

“If you don’t know about him, then I’ll leave. Thank you for your help, Mr. Yuan,” said Duen Shun as he walked away.

“Who was that person?” said Yeung Sung.

“How would I know?” said Ming Hei.

“You were the one whom he was talking to!” said Yeung Sung.

“You mean HE was talking to me,” said Ming Hei.

“Stop worrying about who he is. We came here to have fun. Let’s go to the fields and fly a kite!” suggested Siu Lan. So that was what they did for the rest of the day until the clouds soon covered up the sky and rain began to pour.

    CHAPTER 18: Growth of Curiosity

    Characters:
Mok Ming Hei - Benny Chan
    Mok Tian Hau
    Duen Shun

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ming Hei was running down the streets with his hand over his head to block the rain, and finally, he reached his family’s medincine shop. Once he stepped in, he slapped off the rain on him and started yelling at the sky for being crazy and raining all of a sudden.

“Ming Hei, don’t yell at the sky, or else you’ll get shocked by lighting,” said Tian Hau.

“Dad, you know I don’t believe in those stuff,” said Ming Hei as he sat down and took a sip of tea.

“What did you do today? You’ve been out for about 8 hours,” said Tian Hau.

“Just ate and went to the temple. That’s it. Nothing special.” Ming Hei took another sip of tea. “Oh yeah. Father, have you ever heard of anyone who is named Mok Tian Hau, the holder of the Ching Sum Kuet?”

This question gave Tian Hau a sudden shock and he stared right at Ming Hei oddly. “Why do you ask?”

“This person at the temple asked me. He said I looked like him when he was young. Yeung Sung said he’s a very powerful somebody in the Martial World. I figured that you might know something about him since you both have the same name but different surnames,” said Ming Hei.

“Who was that person who asked you?” questioned Tian Hau.

“Umm... he’s around your age. He has a long black beard. I think his name was Duen Shun,” said Ming Hei. This name brought shock to Tian Hau.

“Duen Shun...” repeated Tian Hau to himself.

“You know him?” said Ming Hei curiously.

“Huh? Why would I?” said Tian Hau.

“Oh, I thought you might of. So do you know Mok Tian Hau? He seems powerful. Tell me about him!” said Ming Hei, who was full of interest.

Tian Hau looked at his son’s eagar eyes to find out about his own past. So he started, “He was a man who has lived through a lot and has gained a well known name in the Martial World. In his life, he had aquired three powerful martial arts. First, Ching Sum Kuet, the martial arts of his family which his father passed down to him. Ching Sum Kuet is an extremely powerful martial arts that allows you to control nature and use its forces at your will. In the Ching Sum Kuet, there many things involved in this martial arts: there is fist fighting, leg fighting, sword fighting, fan fighting, and flute fighting. This martial art is what that leaded him to trouble with others in the Martial World because they all wanted to have this martial art. This was also the reason that he disappeared from the Martial World.”

“Control nature? Is that even possible?” doubted Ming Hei before he allowed his father to finish.

“Yes it is, I’ve witnessed it with my own two eyes,” said Tian Hau. “He circled into the air while he flicked open his fan with his right hand, and the the sky changed colors from sky blue to dark blue. Thunder then striked and rain then pour. It’s absolutely amazing.”

“Are you exaggerating father?” said Ming Hei doubtfully with his hands crossed.

“Not a single bit,” said Tian Hau.

“If there is such a powerful martial arts in this world, then why would their still be heaven’s existent? That person could have controlled the world!” exaggerated Ming Hei.

“You know if heaven exist? You know if that martial art can’t control the world?" said Tian Hau. “If might be able to control he world, but it’s either in a good or bad way. Ching Sum Kuet is like water and fire; it can be good or bad, depending on whose hands it lands in. Water can save a whole drought or it can flood a whole village. Fire can bring warmth to us on a cold day, or it can burn down our homes. Chung Sum Kuet may control the wold, but it’s not possible for one person’s doing. Everyone in this world wants to have it and make it their own. It’s not possible for them to get together and use it together to bring the world good.”

“You’re making it sound so magical,” doubted Ming Hei once again. “Anyways, no matter what that it, it has nothing to do with us so it’s all good!”

“Really?” said Tian Hau. Ming Hei then sat on a chair and started eating some seeds on the table.“Are you very bored?”

“A little bit,” said Ming Hei nonchalantly.

“Then why don’t you go practice your flute?” said Tian Hau.

“Practice it again?” said Ming Hei in dismay.

“Yes, if you don’t practice, you won’t get any better,” said Tian Hau.

“I’ve been playing the flute since I was 5! Ever since I was 10, I haven’t gotten any better. What’s the point of practicing it then?” said Ming Hei.

“You will get better. It’s only that the time is not right yet,” said Tian Hau.

“Not the right time, not the right time,” mumbled Ming Hei to himself.

“What are you mumbling now, son?” said Tian Hau.

“Wha! I was mumbling so quietly, how can you hear me?” said Ming Hei.

“My ears are powerful,” said Tian Hau.

Just then, Ming Hei’s face turned very sweet and innocent as he walked over to his father. “Father,” said Ming Hei.

“Is there something you would like to have?” said Tian Hau as if he knew what Ming Hei was wanting.

“Since I’m getting no where with my flute, can I try to practice with YOURS?” said Ming Hei sweetly. Tian Hau pretended to not hear. “Father, please? You’re flute makes the music sounds so much better than my old wodden flute. It will help me if I can see how I really sound when it’s played on your flute! It might even help with my martial art!” The last sentence, Ming Hei just said without any reason. He just thought that it might convince his father, although martial art has nothing to do with music. Even so, his father seemed to notice that statement and turned around from what he was doing.

“You really want to practice with my flute?” said Tian Hau.

    “Yes!” said Ming Hei willingly.

“Okay then,” said Tian Hau. Ming Hei started feeling success, before Tian Hau continued with what he said. “WHEN you reach level 6 in martial arts.”

“What? I’ve been stuck on level 5 since 10! How will I be able to manage to get to level 6?” complained Ming Hei.

“You will. By the way, tomorrow, I’ll go with you to practice martial arts. Maybe I will have a surprise. Now, go and practice your flute,” said Tian Hau. Just as Ming Hei was about to reply, Tian Hau placed his finger up to him and Ming Hei went inside and practiced his flute.

Tian Hau then looked up into the sky with hope and thought: 'I wonder when Ming Hei will find his other half and be able to learn the whole Ching Sum Kuet.'

As he looked up into the sky with hope, someone came by.

“Mok Tian Hau,” said a harsh and rough voice slowly and slyly. Tian Hau turned his head and saw that it was Duan Shun.

“Duan Shun?” said Tian Hau guardedly.

“Yes it’s me,” said Duan Shun as he flicked his fan and looked at Tian Hau with a cunning smile. “I would have never guessed that the well known Mok Tian Hau will live in a big city like Luo Yang. The most dangerous place IS the saftest place I see.”

    CHAPTER 19: Duen Shun's Threat

    Characters:
    Mok Tian Hau
    Duan Shun
Mok Ming Hei - Benny Chan

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“What do you want?” said Tian Hau as he took out his flute and lifted it at chest level, towards Duan Shun.

“We’re both gentle people! No need to use weapons,” said Duan Shun as he slowly pushed Tian Hau’s flute aside. “You know what I want. Let’s go to the bamboo forest to talk about this, okay?”

“Why should I listen to you?” said Tian Hau.

“I think you have heard your son talked about me. You used to be a loner who traveled around with a threat of your own life behind your back. I don’t know what happened between these 30 years that I haven’t seen you, but after what Chan Gwok Ho did to you, you’ve wander through the Martial World alone. I would have never thought that you’ll be able to forget everything and live a normal life and have a son, Mok Ming Hei. Your son is pretty nice and extremely handsome. I am very comfortable talking to him. If he walks your old Martial World road, he would surely have many beautiful ladies as his concubine due to his handsome little face. Ever since you paralyzed my left arm, you wouldn’t know what I will do since he’s your son,” threated Duan Shun.

After this, Tian Hau and Duan Shun went out into the empty and breezy bamboo forest.

“Ever since that day when my sect tried to take the Ching Sum Kuet away from you, you’ve killed everyone in my sect, except me. Even so, you have paralyzed my left arm! Do you know that I am a useless person by that?! This arm caused my wife to part away from me!’ said Duan Shun in anger as he lifted his left hand.

“There are no real friends in the Martial World. When we became blood brothers (Hing Dai), I thought that you and I will live together as best friends along with Fong Ying Fung. I would have never thought that you will betray me! The only reason you became my brother was for the Ching Sum Kuet! Why did you have to betray me that day? What have I ever done to you? Why does my one and only friend, one after another, have to treat me like this and betray me?!” shouted Tian Hau.

“As you said, there are no real friends in the Martial World. If the reason that you did not kill me that day was because you still remember our brotherhood, then why did you paralyze my left arm?! That made my life worst than dying!” said Duan Shun.

“If you haven’t betrayed me, I wouldn’t have done that!” said Tian Hau with his fan opened and pointing to him.

Duan Shun laughed out loud. “The one who holds the Ching Sum Kuet will never live a day without betrayal. Ever since the day you owned it, you know your life will suffer. Starting with Chan Gwok Ho’s little sister, she betrayed your love in order for his brother to get Ching Sum Kuet.”

”Shut up! Yhun Yi is not that kind of person! Yes, she was helping her brother to get Ching Sum Kuet at first, but then she really DID love me with all her heart!” said Tian Hau.

“But sadly, she DID die by taking a sword for you at the end!” said Duan Shun.

“Shut up! All of those are the past! My life is different now. I still believe in our brotherhood and will allow you to live today. Leave, now!” said Tian Hau.

“You think I’ll leave this easy after I’ve been looking for you for all these years? You have killed ever member of my sect and my wife has left me! What’s the point of me living till this day? The only reason is to get Ching Sum Kuet! I’ll give you three days to think about it, or else I will not know what will happen to your son,” said Duan Shun.

“Ching Sum Kuet is a powerful martial art! Even if you got it, you will not be able to use it with your hands! Duan Shun, it’s still not too late to turn back,” said Tian Hau.

“You think that will convince me? I have never really desired the Ching Sum Kuet before, but ever since my whole sect died and my wife left me, I am craving for it and to get revenge on you!” said Duan Shun.

“Duan Shun! If you harm my son one bit, don’t blame me for not remembering out brotherhood!” said Tian Hau.

Duan Shun laughed once again. “It’s too late now Mok Tian Hau. I will not turn back. Ching Sum Kuet belongs to me.”

Just then, Tian Hau flicked open his fan and swipted it horiztonally at chest level at a fast pace, causing leaves from nearby trees to obey him and shoot towards Duan Shun. Two men in black suddenly appeared and obsorbed the shock of the leaves and died right that instance. Duan Shun has disappeared in midair.

In the air was Duan Shun’s voice. “Mok Tian Hau, I give you 7 days! That’s the most I’m giving you. If you do not hand over the Ching Sum Kuet to me in 7 days at this forest, you will never see your son again!” Then he broke into an evil and chilling laughter and the voice soon faded.

“Duan Shun...” said Tian Hau to himself. The threat of his son’s safety made him scared. “I wouldn’t have believed it that after I have hidden my identity for all these 18 years, I would be back into the situation I was in 18 years ago, being chased after my the people of the Martial World, and the people of the government,” mumbled Tian Hau. He then returned home.

As Tian Hau entered the house, the beautiful sound of Ming Hei’s flute flourished into the air.

“Back so soon, Tian Hau?” said Ah Fung as she entered the room. Tian Hau did not answer and poured himself a cup of tea.

“That tea is cold already, let me go and get you some hot tea,” said Ah Fung.

“No need!” said Tian Hau harshly as Ah Fung was about to step out.

“Then I’ll go set the water for you to take the bath,” said Tian Hau.

“I said no need already!” said Tian Hau as he placed his cup on the table harshly. Ah Fung exit in disappointment. Tian Hau played with his cup as he stared up into the sky while listening to Ming Hei plays his flute. He then walked out and into Ming Hei’s room.

“Father,” said Ming Hei as he noticed that his father was standing by the doors.

“Why did you stop playing? Continue!” said Tian Hau.

“I saw you enter so---“ started Ming Hei.

“Ignore me. I just want to listen to you play,” said Tian Hau as he sat down.

“Yes father,” said Ming Hei. He then continued playing a beautiful tune into the air and Tian Hau listened with safisfaction. Suddenly, Ming Hei stopped playing. “Why are you stopping, son?”

“Father, I’ve been playing for a long time and you’ve been listening all that time. Why don’t you play some now and let me listen? Your flute makes a much more beautiful sound than mine,” said Ming Hei as he released a wonderful smile. Tian Hau smiled back at his son and took out his flute and blew a beautiful tune into the air. They spent the rest of the day listening to each other play. This allowed Tian Hau to forget the event of what happened earlier in the day.
